Benefit Segments of the Female Apparel Market in Cheju (의류제품에 대한 혜택세분화와 정보원사용 및 상점선택행동 연구 -제주지역 여성을 대상으로-)

  • The purposes of the study were 1) to segment the female apparel market based on clothing benefits sought by female adualt consumer in Cheju, and 2) to develop a profile of each segment concerning lifestyle, use of information sources, perceived store attributes, store preference and demographics. The data(n=228) were collected via a questionnire from adult females of ages over 20's. Using cluster analysis on benefits sought factors, four groups were identified and labeled as 1) Economic-value oriented users of clothing(24%) : 2) Brand oriented users of clothing(14%); 3) Aesthetics/fashion oriented users of clothing(26%); 4) Easy care oriented users of clothing(36%). ANOVA and Chi-square statistics revealed significant differences among the four groups according to clothing benefits sought factors, lifestyle factors, use of information sources, store attributes perceived on store types, store-type choices, new store-type preferences and demographic variables. A profile of these groups was developed.

  • This study investigates the effects of benefits pursued to clothing on the purchase intention of wellbeing oriented apparel products (eco-friendly and health-functional apparel). Data were collected from a total of 251 Korean females ranging from 20 to 50 years old and analyzed by SEM. Pragmatic benefit positively affected but aesthetical benefits negatively affected the purchase intention of eco-friendly apparel and health-functional apparel. The social benefit influenced the purchase intention of health-functional apparel but did not influence the purchase intention of eco-friendly apparel.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate changes in the rental Hanbok market and consumer during the past 10 years. This study was done by analyzing internet news about rental Hanbok and in-depth interview. The results provide basic data that can be used to understand the rental Hanbok market. Results showed the followings: First, the rental Hanbok market has expanded and consists of two types of rental Hanbok; ceremonial and experiential. The experiential Hanbok is new but a big part in rental Hanbok market. It is not existed until 2007 but it accounted for more than 60% of internet news about rental Hanbok in 2016. Second, there is a significant difference in consumer behavior between the two types of rental Hanbok. Ceremonial Hanbok showed consistent consumer behavior between 2006 and 2016. Consumer want to get benefits such as TPO(occasion suitability), economy, exhibition, trendy and exceptionality through renting Hanbok. On the other hand, experiential Hanbok, consumers are motivated by having unique, conformity and sharing memories. Based on these results, different sets of information reveal the unique features of the two types of rental Hanbok. And also needed to develop new designs and marketing strategies for them.

Satisfaction, Reliability, and Word-of-Mouth Intention for Online Information According to Cosmetic Consumer Information Search Types

  • The purpose of this study was to determine the satisfaction, trust and word-of-mouth intention of online information according to the type of information search by female cosmetics consumers in their 20's to 40's. For this study, online and offline surveys were conducted by 307 people. Factor, correlation, and multiple regression analysis were used to analyze the data. The main results are summarized as follows. First, the cosmetic consumer's information search types were identified as active, playful, and economic information search types. Second, the results of examinations on the effect of consumer information search types on satisfaction, reliability, and word-of-mouth intention of the online information searches showed that the active information search type had a positive effect on satisfaction, reliability, and word-of-mouth intention. The economic information search type had a positive effect on satisfaction. The active information search type was confirmed to have high satisfaction, reliability, and word-of-mouth intention for the provided information and thus, the acceptance of the provided information was high. The playful information search type was divided into continuous, habitual, and independent information search and a tendency to assign a low value to consumer information was confirmed. The economic information search type showed high satisfaction with the information obtained by searching, but also a passive attitude toward trust or word-of-mouth intention and was categorized as a passive search type. Online information search is a communication channel with a great influence that can provide various benefits to cosmetic consumers.

Analysis of Consumer Purchase Intention for Gastrodia Elata Products (천마제품의 소비자 구매의향 분석 연구 - 한·중 소비자 비교)

  • Considering the continuous growth in the production and consumption of Gastrodia elata, it's crucial to accurately understand the consumer demand for Gastrodia elata products and develop health products tailored to consumer preferences. In this study, we surveyed 400 consumers each from South Korea and China to gauge their perceptions and buying intentions concerning Gastrodia elata products. The results revealed that Korean consumers predominantly evaluate Gastrodia elata products based on health consciousness, whereas Chinese consumers emphasize the product's external characteristics. In Korea, Gastrodia elata products are mainly promoted for their health benefits and are primarily consumed in ingestible forms. In contrast, in China, Gastrodia elata is frequently used as a culinary ingredient. These findings underscore that consumer perceptions and buying intentions can differ depending on how a product is advertised and presented. Future studies should take into account the evolving international Gastrodia elata market and the surging demand, incorporating diverse countries and cities. It will also be imperative to maintain ongoing monitoring, drawing insights from the industrial growth drive model.

A Case Study on Joint Overseas Expansion of Home Shopping Firm and Consumer Goods SMEs (홈쇼핑 기업과 소비재 중소기업의 해외 동반진출에 관한 사례연구)

  • There must be a balanced development of both conglomerates and small and mid-sized companies in order to secure constant economic growth and competitive edge of South Korea. Accordingly, high expectations are being placed on win-win growth and joint overseas expansion of conglomerates and small and mid-sized companies. This study seeks efficient ways to promote joint overseas expansion of major retailers and small and mid-sized companies considering the distinctiveness of home shopping by conducting interviews about joint overseas expansion of home shopping companies and small and mid-sized consumer goods companies in South Korea. To do this, interviews were conducted with three home shopping companies and three consumer goods SMEs operating in overseas markets. The results are as follows. Home shopping companies contribute to opening up overseas markets for small and mid-sized consumer goods companies, and allows them to make use of business and marketing competencies that they lack. Home shopping companies also produce visual materials or provide language translations, and help draw up documents for customs clearance in trading. They also form market development teams and provide information about the overseas markets. However, since the actual benefits from joint overseas expansion are minor for home shopping companies, there is a need for a strategy for win-win growth of both parties in the long run. To this end, it is necessary to provide substantial benefits to encourage joint overseas expansion. Ultimately, balanced development between home shopping companies and small- and medium-sized consumer goods companies should be promoted.

The Effects of Repurchase Intention by Social Commerce Traits and Consumer's Traits in China (중국에서의 소셜 커머스 특성과 소비자 특성이 재구매의도에 미치는 영향)

  • Purpose - Social commerce is a certain way of how people buy some products together with others through the internet sites with mutual interactions among customers with the benefits of SNS when buying some products. At present, China market has some problems due to its rapid growing. However, empirical research or academic approach to social commerce has not been made enough. So, it is important for Chinese social market to develop and enlarge the customers with stability under the reliability and satisfaction. Also it is important for them to have repurchase intention. Nowadays, it is necessary to find the factors on customer satisfaction and trust, whereas consumers' dissatisfaction and unreliability are increasing on social commerce recently. In addition, researches on social commerce have been actively pursued by a variety of domestic and foreign scholars. However, researches on social commerce and Chinese market are short of, and they have some limitations because of the rapid growth of the market even though it is the early stage. The current situation requires researches on consumers' repurchase intention for continuing growth in the future according to the growth of Chinese social commerce. Research design, data, and methodology - The literature and the empirical studies are combined in order to achieve the purpose of the study. Deriving social commerce features and consumer properties as factors affecting the repurchase intention through the literature, and these factors have modeled a series of assumptions about the impact on satisfaction and trust, and have established hypotheses to verify them. The survey which is conducted to test the hypothesis and questionnaires are derived based on the variables discussed in the previous study. Appropriate measures were developed and tested on 227 respondents in China with a cross-sectional questionnaire survey. The path relationships of the research model were analyzed by SPSS 23.0 and Amos 23.0. Results - Research results about social commerce characteristics and factors affecting the repurchase intention are presented to Chinese market companies that adopt business models and consumer characteristics. In addition, this study focuses on the characteristics of social commerce, from two-dimensional characteristics of the consumer satisfaction, trust and the impact on the repurchase. Therefore, social commerce features and consumer properties based on the results of this study may lead the strategic implications that may increase the repurchase intention. Conclusions - The classification reviewing the previous findings related to social commerce and social commerce features affects social commerce repurchase (price discount, interactivity) and consumer characteristics (impulsivity, innovation, collectivism). It affects repurchase on factors and analyzes empirically. The empirical results identify major characteristics (social commerce characteristics, attributes) that affect the repurchase intention, and give the practical implications as well as the business strategies that are able to enhance social commerce repurchase consumers.   • The study aims to review airline services like the domestic line performance, the general flight fares and website discount fairs, reservation cancellation and cancellation charges, reroutings and personal discount system of the low cost carriers(LCC), and suggest what needs to be done to improve the airline service. The improvements to be made by the LCC should include increasing regular domestic lines, providing information compared for consumers, relieving the toll to call the service center, revising the conditions on reservation cancellation penalty, rerouting charges, revising the consumer dispute resolution standards, and promoting frequent fliers program. Development strategies should be established that can boost consumer benefits through the improvement of the airline services.

Customer Relationship Management for the E-Grocery Sector

  • In this paper, the e-grocery sector of the U.S. is used as an illustrative example of how to assess consumers' demands for customer relationship management and to investigate whether these demands coincide with effective Customer Relationship Management (CRM) strategies suggested by academic researchers and provided by practitioners. Surveys evaluating the perceived importance of CRM items were administered accordingly. The findings show that, overall, consumers' did not differ considerably to the experts. The results of descriptive analyses showed that academicians had a more closely in-lined view with consumers than did practitioners. Although not statistically significant, practitioners perceived loyalty programs to be more important than did consumers or academicians. This might suggest that loyalty programs are primarily serving as a way of data mining, and are thus failing to provide benefits to consumers. Overall, items related to technology deployment were perceived to be more important by practitioners than consumers or academicians.
