Understanding User's Continuous Use of Financial Technology Products

  • Online financial technology products are an important consumer finance innovation. While a large body of previous research has focused on initial adoption and consumer willingness to use these products, little research explores the continued use of these products beyond the initial adoption phase. In particular, special attention should be paid to how users' trust and perceptions of privacy and security affect continued use behavior. This paper integrates the expectation confirmation model of information system continuance (ECM-ISC), the information system success model (ISSM) and the security and trust literatures to investigate continued use of online financial technology. To test the research model, we collected 398 valid questionnaires from Ant Credit Pay users. The research results show that system and service quality positively impact users' expectation confirmation, while information quality has no significant impact. Expectation confirmation and perceived usefulness positively affect user satisfaction. Moreover, the user's perception of privacy and security plays a vital role in user satisfaction. Satisfaction and perceived trust jointly promote users' continuance behaviors. Findings of this study indicates the importance of the information system success factors and security factors due to their influence on the continued use of Fintech products. This conclusion has implications for enterprises in improving the product qualities and enhancing the degree of security to meet user needs.

Consumer Acceptance of E-Commerce in Korea and China;The Effects of National Culture

  • With e-commerce becoming international, understanding the effects of national culture in consumer acceptance of e-commerce is required. This study examines consumer e-commerce acceptance in Korea and China. The research model consisting of perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, trust and perceived risk was proposed, and the hypotheses based on Hofstede's cultural dimensions of power distance, individualism/collectivism, masculinity/femininity, uncertainty avoidance and long-term orientation, were established. The results show that perceived usefulness contributes less to consumer acceptance of e-commerce in China than it does in Korea. In addition, perceived ease of use contributes more to consumer acceptance of e-commerce in China. Trust contributes significantly to consumer acceptance of e-commerce in both countries, but perceived risk didn't influence consumer acceptance of e-commerce in either country. The contribution of this study is to provide strategic insights for successfully managing cross-cultural e-commerce.

소비자 프라이버시 역설 경험에 대한 탐색적 연구: 근거이론적 접근 (An Exploratory Study on Consumer Privacy Paradox Experience: Grounded Theory Approach)

  • This study redefines 'consumer privacy attitude and behavior discrepancy' that occurs in the transaction environment that exists between consumer and provider as 'consumer privacy paradox.' In this study, qualitative research was conducted based on grounded theory. This study explored how consumers react to a privacy paradox as well as looked into how to adapt to the negative and positive results that can be generated by the privacy paradox. 'Consumer privacy paradox' is the same as the existing privacy paradox in that consumers can utilize the resources of personal information to consume and benefit from the market environment. However, it differs from previous studies in that it examines the privacy paradox in terms of consumer influence and consumer experience. The results of the study are as follows. First, a paradigm model of the consumer privacy paradox was derived. Second, consumers used three types of strategies to rationalize themselves or maintain indifference or relief to cope with the consumer privacy paradox. Third, the possibility of damage and the responsibility for privacy protection were the mediators of the consumer privacy paradox. Fourth, the 'result' generated by the consumer privacy paradox showed four types of: non-response, satisfaction, commitment to change, and negative emotional experience. Fifth, there is a difference in strategies to respond to the consumer privacy paradox according to consumer types.

Influence of Word of Mouse and Consumers Attitudes on Consumers' Decision-Making in E-Commerce

  • Purpose: Prior studies rarely investigated the effects of the Word of Mouse (WoM) information on consumers' motivation and willingness to purchase a product. Furthermore, few scholars have studied how word-of-mouth information works and they fail to find consistent results. Research design, data and methodology: This study uses a multivariate regression model to investigate the influence of WoM on consumer attitudes and consumer decision-making. It categorizes the quality of WoM into source level and acceptance level, to analyze its influence from a new perspective. A total of 400 surveys were completed, resulting in 336 usable questionnaires for analysis. It was collected in 14 cities from all regions in China. This study constructs a theoretical model of WoM influence on consumers' purchase willingness based on a systematic review of the related literature on WoM quality, perceived value, customer trust, and consumers' purchase willingness. Results: Empirical results reveal that the Internet WoM (consumer's source level and acceptance level) indirectly affects consumer behavior by influencing consumer attitudes. Conclusions: This study provides practical significance and value for merchants to develop better WoM marketing and to establish the reliability of WoM websites. Companies should consider online WoM from the perspective of consumers, thereby improving existing marketing strategies.

  • 온라인게임에 관한 대다수의 연구들은 주로 심리학자들에 의한 인터넷 중독과 과학자들에 의한 관련기술의 개발에 관해 수행되어왔다. 온라인 비즈니스 모델의 관점에서 고객만족을 연구한 논문은 드문 편이다. 본 연구의 목적은 온라인게임 이용자들을 대상으로 고객만족과 주요 요인들 간의 인과관계를 조사하는 것이다. 이를 위해 연구모델은 고객만족에 영향을 미치는 주요 요인들을 규명하기 위해 상호작용, 즐거움, 도전, 보상, 디자인의 개념을 이용하였다. 연구결과 상호작용, 즐거움, 도전 요인이 온라인게임 이용자들의 고객만족에 유의한 영향을 미치는 요인으로 규명되었다. 온라인게임 이용자들의 만족도에 영향을 미치는 주요 요인에 관한 연구는 지속적으로 논의되고 있다.

Exploring the role of referral efficacy in the relationship between consumer innovativeness and intention to generate word of mouth

  • Referral marketing plays an important role in promoting new products. When it comes to innovative agricultural products, early adopter's review or recommendation has a more critical impact on follower's purchase decision making. Hence, understanding of consumer's characteristics and needs play more important role in success of innovation. More particularly, other researchers pay attention to the role of consumer innovativeness. This study attempts to fill this gap in knowledge between innovative propensity of consumer and her/his intention to generate positive word of mouth about new agricultural products. Furthermore, in this paper, we adopt Vandecasteele and Geunes' motivated consumer innovativeness model to investigate consumer innovativeness in extrinsic motive and intrinsic motive level, and examine the moderating role of referral efficacy. For empirical verification, survey method is used for data collection. Partial least square (PLS) is adopted to analyze the data. Finally, several theoretical contributions and practical implications are discussed.

모바일 쇼핑에서 패션 브랜드 앱이 스마트폰 몰입과 소비자 만족에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Fashion Brand Apps on Smartphones Flow and Consumer Satisfaction in Mobile Shopping)

  • The purposes of this study was to investigate effects of fashion brand apps on smartphones flow and consumer satisfaction in mobile shopping. These findings provide new information to marketers for the marketing strategy for dealing with mobile shopping mall. A total of 233 usable questionnaires were obtained from men and women ages 20-30 who have mobile shopping purchasing experience. Data were analyzed by frequency analysis, factor analysis using SPSS for Window 22.0 and confirmatory factor analysis and structural equation model analysis by AMOS 22.0. The results were as follows. First, the analysis of fashion brand apps factors showed that it consist of 2 kinds of dimensions of basic information type and additional information type. Second, basic information type of fashion brand apps have had a direct impact on consumer satisfaction and did not affect the smartphones flow. Additional information type influence consumer satisfaction through a smartphones flow. Basic information type of fashion brand apps showed a greater impact on consumer satisfaction than a smartphone flow. A managerial implication was discussed for fashion brand marketers to develop strategies on fashion brand apps that could stimulate and increase the consumer flow and satisfaction.

  • 최근 정보 기술의 발전 속도가 매우 빠르게 변화하고 있다. 스마트폰과 태블릿 같은 IT 기기에서 이런 변화들이 두드러지고 있다. 이전의 IT 기기들은 기능상의 혁신과 진보를 통해 소비자들을 끌어들였지만, 현재는 IT 제품 상에서 기능상 발전과 혁신은 둔화되었다. 기능상 차별점이 줄어든 시점에서 기업들은 외관과 디자인적 측면에서 차별화를 시도하고 있다. 스마트폰의 외관적 변화를 반영하듯 소비자들도 성능보단 디자인을 스마트폰 구매의 중요 요인으로 삼고 있다. 스마트폰은 패션 아이템의 하나로 자리매김하게 되었고, 스마트폰의 디자인과 외형이 지속적으로 중요해짐에 따라 해당 제품에 대해 소비자들이 느끼는 디자인 가치가 무엇인지도 중요해졌으며, 무엇에 영향을 받는지도 중요해졌다. 소비자들이 느끼는 가치가 중요해짐에 따라 소비자들이 해당제품의 디자인에 대해 평가하는 메커니즘을 밝힐 필요성이 존재하며, 적절한 가치를 전달하기 위해 디자인을 평가할 수 있는 모형이 필요하다. 디자인과 관련한 기존 연구들은 소비자들의 인지와 가치 부분에 초점을 맞추어 연구를 하였지만, 제품 속성 자체에 대한 부분은 고려하지 않은 경향이 있으며, 제품이 갖고 있는 객관적인 속성들에 따라 소비자들의 인지가 변화하는 과정과 최종적으로 느끼는 가치에 대한 메커니즘을 밝힌 연구는 부재한 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 본 연구는 스마트폰 제품이 갖고 있는 객관적 속성인 제품 속성과 객관적 속성을 통해 느끼는 소비자들의 인지, 가치에 대해 평가할 수 있는 메커니즘을 설계하고, 이를 평가할 수 있는 3단계 디자인 평가 모형을 제시하려 한다. 3단계 디자인 평가 모형은 제품 속성, 인지 속성, 소비자 가치까지 모든 단계를 고려한 정량화된 모형으로 스마트폰 분야만이 아닌 사용자경험 분야에 전반적으로 적용 가능할 것으로 기대하며, 기업이 갖고 있는 소비자 데이터와 결합한다면, 특정 소비자층을 겨냥한 제품 생산 및 설계가 가능한 지능형 디자인 가치 평가 모형으로 발전할 수 있을 것으로 예상한다.

소비자 만족$\cdot$불만족의 개념에 관한 이론적 연구 (Conceptual perspectives on consumer satisfaction/dissatisfaction)

  • Consumer satisfaction/dissatisfaction is a concept which is receiving increased attention from consumers, public policy makers, and marketers alike. The literature in this field is still meager, has been growing rapidly byt with diversity of direction. The purpose of this study is to review the conceptualization and taxonomy of CS/D in consumer research. Three types of the basic process in a general theory of CS/D are suggested; system CS/D, enterprise CS/D and product-service CS/D. It is also classified into macro marketing system CS/D, micro marketing system CS/D and consuming mix CS/D. The conceptualization of CS/D begins with a basic model of how CS/D results from the individual product purchase experience of individual consumer. Basic CS/D models are classified into process model which contains experience, information search, prepurchase evaluation and comparison process variables and psychological model which is derived from cognitive dissonance theory. Theoretical and empirical foundations about expectation model are asimilatin, contrast, generalized negativity and assimilation contrast theories.

정보보안 인식이 신뢰 형성에 미치는 연구 (A Study on Awareness of Information Security Influencing Trustness)

  • 본 연구는 정교화 가능성 모델(Elaboration Likelihood Model, ELM)의 관점에서 E-Commerce에서 발생하는 소비자의 정보보안 인식의 영향을 조사하고, 소비자의 관여도와 경험의 조절 효과를 분석한 것이다. 소비자는 E-Commerce에 대한 관여도와 경험의 수준에 따라 E-Commerce 웹사이트를 사용하고 있다. 본 연구는 ELM을 기반으로 하여 소비자의 E-Commerce에 대한 정보보안 인식이 형성되고, 소비자의 관여도, 경험의 정도에 따라 그 효과 크기가 조절된다는 것을 설명하는 이론적 모형을 제시하고, 실증 연구를 통해 모형을 확인한다. 연구 결과, 소비자는 E-Commerce 웹사이트에 대한 인식의 유형에 따라 서로 다른 경로를 통해 E-Commerce 업체에 대한 신뢰 태도를 형성했고, 그 영향을 소비자의 관여도와 경험이 조절했다. E-Commerce에서 소비자의 정보보안 인식유형을 연구하는 것은 신뢰 형성에 대한 새로운 관점을 제시할 것으로 생각된다.
