Construction cost index (CCI) has been published for last 10 years, it's contributed to update the historical cost data, analysis cost fluctuation and evaluate the market price for construction works with direct or indirect manner. CCI is a secondary or processed statistics using the basic statistics of input output table (IO table) and producer price index (PPI) from the Bank of Korea (BOK). So once the basic statistics change, it is required to modify the calculating model of CCI. Recently the BOK changed some fundamental principles and the base year (from 2005 to 2010), that can be used in IO table and PPI. This research analyzed the recent revision of basic statistics and their impacts on CCI, and improved the previous CCI model in response to it. Also the validity of new CCI was verified by analyzing the items and weights utilized in CCI and comparing the related index.

Ever since the CM was implanted in a domestic construction in 1996, it has been needed to take root and activate the CM system as soon as possible. Especially, the applied CM to private construction sector could be a fundamental barometer that how much changed and being advanced the construction system is This means, it is easy to apply CM to a governmental construction, yet it is hard to expect to successfully fix and activate CM for a private construction project unless they admit the necessity and validity of CM. Dongbu Corporation already acknowledged the need of CM in a private enterprise and willingly applied it to a construction sector while building Dongbu financial center, even before the CM was implanted to this country Therefore, this study suggests that the developmental direction of practical CM by examining effects and problems of the CM process.

The purpose of this study was to develop a competency model and analyze the competency needs for construction manager in D Co., Ltd.. The delphi method of 25 excellent construction managers working in D Co., Ltd. was used to develop a competency model. The results showed that there would be a construction manager competency model which consisted of 3 competency clusters, 11 competencies, and 60 key actions. Then the survey of 114 construction managers working in D Co., Ltd. was conducted to examine concurrent construct validity of the competency model for construction manager and to analyze construction managers' competency needs by using the Borich's formula and the Locus for Focus Model(LfFM). The results showed that construction managers perceived 'communication', 'risk management', 'goal orientation', 'customer orientation', and 'project management' as top five priorities of competencies for construction managers. Based upon the above results, some implications were suggested for developing construction managers' competencies and improving their performance.

The wide range of price found in food market allows consumer reduce the cost of food purchases through comparison shopping into one more stores. Littles known however about how much can be saved by comapring price for a whole market basket of food items. This paper present evidence relating to the comparison shopping through the theories on price is dispersion and show validity constructing methods of food market basket. It is found that the savings of comparison shopping to consumers are likely to be gains in food Markets and three market basket on foods suggest in study found to be validity.

The purpose of this study is to examine methodological issues of empirical research using survey methods in Journal of the Korean Society of Clothing and Textiles. We reviewed 95 articles from Journal of the Korean Society of Clothing and Textiles in 1996, 1998, and 2000. Methodological issues were categorized into four areas: questionnaire and scale development, sampling and collecting data, variable construction, and external validity(generalization). In each imp, a check list was made and 95 articles were reviewed based on this limit. Major findings were discussed and some suggestions were made for future research.

The scope of this study is focused on the survey of new logistics transportation systems in railroad and case studies of new systems such as piggyback system, bi-modal system swapbody, and double stack train(DST). Piggyback system, bi-modal system, swapbody, and double stack train are reviewed in term of technological validity and economic validity in Korea. Piggyback - trailer does pass loaded weight limits but does not pass train limits and can not utilize the existing freight cars. Piggyback - cargo trunk does pass all the criteria and could be developed by a domestic technology. But this study suggests to expand the length of train cars to 18.300mm for accommodation of two cargo trucks. Bi-modal system and swapbody do also pass. Double stack train could only pass the loaded weights and does not meet the train limit and the possibility of using existing freight cars. Domestic technology could not development DST, due to civil engineering construction limits and low standard height of electric line, which could not afford to operate DST.

Guide line for rock blasting design of the MOCT(Ministry of Construction and Transportation) adopts attenuation equation of du Pont company for blasting vibration. In this paper the validity of the equation is studied by comparing with several equations of Dowding, Devine and author's induced from the domestic vibration data. The equation is inadequately used and predicted values are proved to be underestimated and causes vibration problems.

This paper attempts to analyse the financial validity of the Eco-therapy project which 'J' city in 'C' province has been eagerly trying to implement for its regional economic development and also to estimate the potential economic impact of the project on its regional economy. In doing so, it employs system dynamics which is a methodology for studying and managing complex systems, such as one finds in business and other social systems. Analytic framework for this study is constructed, based on the existing theoretical studies. This study concludes that the Eco-therapy Project concerned is economically and financially valid and it is also expected that the regional economic impacts arising from the construction and operation of the facilities concerned are greater than any other project which 'J' city has been pursuing.

This study shows the field of construction which was less developed in the aspect of information system in comparison to other areas needs to introduce construction information system and suggests it can make more value linked with company performance through the system. For the first step, it emphasizes the integrated enterprise approach not optimization of each sector in a company. This paper extracts the current issues of construction information from the core process of construction area and implies a driving plan and the future development plan for construction information. Antecedent studies for this drew the information structure model and the construction information-driving model of a construction company. Hence, case studies with management companies that implemented the construction information system successfully tested validity. This research brings the cases of PMS, the integrated finance system, and CRM system as successful ones.

Contemporary space design has based on the framework of academic standards on a number of scientific propositions in order to find out correlation of human and environment and closely examine approaches of a normative design. However the contents are enormous and introductory and have limitation of application to practical business affairs so that we will have to understand them as a thinking to explain the design with,. Therefore this study is an experimental research making use of concrete design approaches applicable to the area of space design ad cinematic construction as a medium. The purpose and significance of it lies in examining its validity and contributing to the future development of space design. Accordingly this study conducted the research through a literature survey for the understanding of space perception in the cinema deduced the language of design concept according to it examined the basic unit of cinematic construction then analyzed the cases of practical architectural spaces. The findings of this study indicate that human's perception to space and the cinema is deduced as a common conceptual language characterized by the ideas of articulation scenery and timeness. These concepts are very organic and interdependent and can probably become a means for human to appropriately analyze an behavior attribute type of investigating environment with. Also in composing space the basic units of cinematic construction can be as instrument to be easily applied to practical affairs as they are correlated with the function of space and a constituent language to be reasonably designed.
