The purpose of this study is to fully understand the present state of the domestic construction companies, and to analyze phased business types and construction management techniques in order to initiate overseas expansion. Because of the recession in the domestic construction market, a thorough and strategic perspective to constantly develop inroads into overseas market is required. So we carried out a questionnaire survey targeting the experts of the overseas construction and researcher, and consulted them in depth. The questionnaire survey was divided into three sections. The first section is the necessity of overseas construction and the reason. The second is the overseas business types classified into the way of advance in short-term and long-term phase possibility of expansion. Lastly, the importance of the phased construction management techniques and the current capacity of the domestic and the foreign business trends were scrutinized. On the basis of the consultation and surveys, we analyzed the overseas business types and the construction management types in the short-term and long-term phase.
Global competition and reduced project life cycle ultimately puts greater performance requirements on the capital project delivery systems used to maintain competitiveness. Despite continuing improvements in delivery cycle time, business owners of facilities continue to demand greater improvements in project delivery cycle time. Therefore, it is very important to investigate the various techniques and methods leading to reduction in project cycle time and also identify the applicability of identified techniques and methods. This paper introduces reduction techniques identified through literature review (i.e, Schedule Reduction Techniques (SRTs), Management Techniques (MTs), and Construction Institute Industry (CII) Best Practices (BPs). In order to collect applicability of these techniques under different project phases (Pre-project planning (PPP), Design (D), Material Management (MM), Construction (C), and Start-up (SU)), the Essence Applicability Matrices (EAM) is used.

Construction projects are fraught with risks from cost or other overruns to accidents along with other issues. This is true whether the relevant organization is an owner, general contractor, CM, specialty-trade contractor, or other entity. When cost issues or other issues confront arise, how should an organization proceed whether attempting to gain additional compensation in terms of cost/other damages or protecting the same against such claims if they do not appear to be warranted? Enter construction cost forensics. This presentation will focus on strategies/techniques with construction cost forensics in these areas in order to be successful. Covered techniques include those to develop and analyze claims including fundamental construction cost analysis techniques. When an unexpected event disrupts a construction project, using sound analytical methods to identify the cause and quantify the extent of the issue will be important for negotiating a fair result or for obtaining a successful outcome in arbitration or litigation. Key examples of uncovering issues via construction cost forensics will be covered in this presentation.

Construction automation and robotics are being taken notice as an alternative to improve productivity and quality. Reflecting on these purpose, automation system, called RCA(Robotic-crane based Construction Automation) system, is developed and have been verified through a pilot project recently in Korea. To apply the RCA system in high-rise building effectively, each management factors of element technologies in the system is derived and assessed critical factor. The purpose of this study, management factors of element techniques, consisted of RCA system, is classified through questionnaires/interviews targeting system developers and construction managers in pilot project site, and critical factors is selected using AHP.

Many schedule delays and cost overruns in interior construction are caused by a lack of understanding in detailed and complicated interior works. To minimize these potential impacts in interior construction, a systematic approach for project managers to detect discrepancies at early stages and take corrective action through use of visualized data is required. This systematic implementation is still challenging: monitoring is time-consuming due to the significant amount of as-built data that needs to be collected and evaluated; and current interior construction progress reports have visual limitations in providing spatial context and in representing the complexities of interior components. To overcome these issues, this research focuses on visualization and computer vision techniques representing interior construction progress with photographs. The as-planned 3D models and as-built photographs are visualized in a 3D walk-through model. Within such an environment, the as-built interior construction elements are detected through computer vision techniques to automatically extract the progress data linked with Building Information Modeling (BIM). This allows a comparison between the as-planned model and as-built elements to be used for the representation of interior construction progress by superimposing over a 3D environment. This paper presents the process of representing and detecting interior construction components and the results for an ongoing construction project. This paper discusses implementation and future potential enhancement of these techniques in construction.

The purpose of this study was to look up the proper inventory management system in construction industry. it is important for construction company to improve competitiveness and to reduce construction cost. Lot-sizing techniques were applied to rebar procurement in apartment project. The results of this study were as follows; the method of Groff's marginal cost showed the best performance of other techniques and the method of Norman showed a similar result.

Techniques to rapidly model local spaces, using 3D range data can enable implementation of: (1) real-time obstacle avoidance for improved safety, (2) advanced automated equipment control modes, and (3) as-built data acquisition for improved quantity tracking, engineering, and project control systems. The objective of the research reported here was to introduce current rapid local modeling techniques and develop rapid local spatial modeling tools.

Scheduling is one of the main functions in construction project to determine the sequence of activities necessary to complete a project. The scheduling techniques provide important information crucial to a project's success. Highway construction project the paving activity can be considered a linear activity. Linear scheduling technique may be better suited for linear projects than other scheduling techniques. A new type of scheduling in linear project is calling Linear Scheduling Model (LSM). The Project monitoring and controlling is very ease to identify that all the stage of linear project and have more advantages.
Purpose: This study, by comprehensively the characteristics of new Hanok application techniques with the proposed site application technology in the course of the design changes that have been accumulated through Hanok technology development the second stage business, by analyzing the range of reflection, new Considering the direction reflects the efficiency of the new Hanok application techniques. Method: new Hanok application technology, it was been established through research and development of large 1 new Hanok technology it has been proposed through the "site-specific application techniques" and 2 builders and designers "space-time proposed technique" Analysis of the case, at the center of the design changes, the land the body of laws and regulations, the requirements of the public buildings, compared to the construction method and the like for the reduction of construction costs, new Hanok applied technology in the process of change by it There was analyzed whether acceleration on the range and step which is reflected in the design Result: The result of new Hanok applied technology was built through the demonstration build business case, process another major technology, foundation, woodwork, walls, roof, has been reflected in the ceiling construction, the inclusion of items in the proposed technique of construction , it was applied to the main steps in general, except for other construction work landscaping. Application techniques and construction proposal technology research team has presented, show the difference between the scope and method. With significance effort to improve the unreasonable traditional methods of these core processes that can be reflected in the field repeated the construction proposed technique as a result of the utility that can be applied for substantial construction.

Due to hazardous working environments at complex, unstructured, and dynamic construction sites, workers frequently face potential safety and health risks throughout the construction process. In this regard, addressing safety challenges remains one of the top priorities. Construction workers' ability to identify and assess risks is acquired through training, which is one of the primary key factors to determine their safety and wellbeing in hazardous working environments. As such, safety managers constantly focus on the effectiveness of the training materials provided to the workers. However, the construction workers are considerably at greater risk of injuries and fatalities compared to the workers in other industries. In this regard, further studies are required to build up a body of knowledge on the conventional safety training approaches as well as their evaluation techniques in order to boost up the adoption by the practitioners in a widespread manner. This paper provides a systematic review of the current safety training approaches and the various techniques for measuring their effectiveness. The attributes of the current safety training methods for construction workers and their evaluation techniques are identified and analyzed. Results indicated that: 1) immersive environment-based training methods are effective than the traditional safety training methods; 2) this effectiveness can be empirically supported by evaluation strategies, but the current techniques are subjective, intrusive, and error-prone. This research offers fresh opportunities to investigate the training strategies by objectively monitoring the physiological responses of construction crews. The results of this study can be used by researchers and practitioners to identify and determine optimal safety training programs that could potentially become ubiquitous in the construction industry.
