  • In the past, The selection of individual method of construction was done by head of construction site or an experienced person very frequently. By doing this, The wrong selection of construction method without exact adjudication of construction site situation lead to increasing of cost and extension of construction term. Finally it will effect all over the construction process. Especially, In case of Underground construction in the beginning, there are a lot of a variable factor and it also effect on the entire construction process and it need rely careful process. The purpose of this study is to present the best suitable methodology fer selection of construction method by considering potential risk of construction method and variables together with external condition for Underground construction. The purpose of this study is to select the most suitable construction method by analysing potential conditions(Construction site situation and Client. Request in designing) To do this, We prepared arrangement rule to arrangement conditions for construction method. And then make Checklist the analyzing construction method. Though above process, To expect the risk of individual construction method using above risk checklist and using Analytic Hierarchy Process among Multiple-Criteria Decision Making, the professional opinions is to be adapted. By doing this, It can lead and select the most suitable considering method considering the data which get from risk density test.

  • Even though the recent construction safety disasters not only result in the loss inside construction sites but also become to a large public disasters, safety activities are managed in an irrational way and safety rules are ignored in the construction sites which leads to occur same type of disasters repeatedly. In this paper, a fuzzy set theoretic approach to risk analysis is proposed as an alternative to the techniques currently used in the general construction projects safety. Then the concept of risk evaluation using linguistic representation of the likelihood, exposure and consequences is introduced. A risk assessment model using approximate reasoning technique base on fuzzy logic is presented to drive fuzzy values of risk and numerical example for risk analysis is also presented to illustrate the results.

  • The purpose of this study is to suggest analysis model of RCB construction in nuclear power plant. For the objective, This study drew the risk factors of RCB construction from existing literature. The results of the study proposed analysis model made hierarchy in rebar, form, and concrete work. These will be baseline data for risk management in construction project of nuclear power plant.

  • Construction contracts involve the allocation or distribution of the risks inherent to a construction project between or among contracting parties. However, it has been a common practice that only one party drafts the contract due to practical reasons and particular policies of various organizations. Interviews were conducted on some local contractors to gain their meaningful insights and standpoints on the allocation of each risk. These results were compared with the actual risk allocation using the Philippine government standard contract and risk principles from the literature to determine if their considered opinions provide a plausible alternative. A sample application of this evaluation is presented for construction-related risks and risk allocation recommendations are provided in the end.

  • The Risk Management (RM) is applied for managing uncertainty of project. In this circumstance, the competences of RM have a direct effect on the performance of its application. Especially, as the RM, one of the project management areas, is a peopleoriented management field, the individual behavioral competences are significant for a risk manager. Therefore, this paper describes the development of individual behavioral competences for construction project risk manager. For this, the research classifies the individual behavioral competences of RM. And, the Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) are applied to verify a validity of the competences. Likewise, a reliability analysis using Cronbach's alpha values is performed to test internal consistency. Based on the results, the authors carry out the Focus Group Interview (FGI) on expert panels of construction RM to confirm the hierarchical model of the individual behavioral competences. It is concluded that the proposed hierarchical model of individual behavioral competences helps construction companies to diagnose the competences of their project risk manager for progressing.

  • This research documents the initial findings and recommendations for developing a risk management tool to assess and quantify the risks associated with the construction of the next generation of nuclear power plants. The proposed tool builds upon the Construction Industry Institute's International Project Risk Assessment (IPRA) Best Practice. This paper provides an overview of the investigation to assess the unique risk elements pertaining to nuclear power plant construction and documents the preliminary findings from historical project performance data to better understand the function and use of the IPRA's Relative Impact value.

  • Construction industry is a complex industry which should be invested with plenty capital, manpower and resources. Investment factors and inner and outer environmental factors should be managed systemically in terms with risk factors possible to occur. It maximizes the profit to establish construction management by managing risk systemically. While previous studies were executed with risk related to some special progress lively, studies about risk in managing construction company leave much to be desired. Therefore, this study examined risk in the whole construction management, showed the checklist and deduced the quantitative factors through questionnaire analysis from specialists. Also, priority and grade of construction management factors were evaluated by analyzing weight of construction risk factors.

  • Owing to diversification of social desire and increase of demand as economic growth, construction industry recently is trending toward diversification, complication, gigantism. It means that is changing to difficult environment as existing construction company operation. Specially, some big construction companies are promoting get down to construction business risk management skill & development. Enterprise risk management system, recognized to risk portfolio, is suggested. instead of individually risk management. This study indicates ERM basic model, considering construction risk character, for apply to ERM to field of construction . And it is including analysis of recognition level and reality about ERM in construction company.

  • Due to the increasing demand for and complexity of plant construction projects, unpredictable risk factors are on the consequent increase. For that reason, the quantitative risk analysis is being called for, in order for the development of a risk assessment model using risk indicators for the plant construction projects. This study used the claim payout data collected at a global insurance company to reflect the actual financial losses in plant construction projects as dependent variables in the risk assessment model. In terms of independent variables, the geographic information, i. e., landform, and the construction information including test-run, schedule rate, total cost and duration are adopted. In addition, this study suggests that the regression model containing such independent variables that are statistically significant can be applied to as a foundational guideline for the plant construction project risk analysis during the phase of construction and commissioning.

  • Construction work has potential risk factors in the process. Therefore, the safety management task is very important and requires continuous management. In particular, the importance of safety management in construction projects has been highlighted recently with the introduction of the act on punishment of serious disasters. In this perspective, this study intends to select and present high-risk construction types that requires safety management. The presented result is expected to present standards for systematically performing safety management of construction projects.
