Construction safety inspections come in a wide variety of types. The types of inspection are, 1) a self-checking and a periodical-checking by contractors, 2) a site inspection by Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transprt (MOLIT) or licensing organizations and 3) others. In this situation, there are needs to determine fuction of the safty inspection and roll of stakeholders for the inspection to avoid unnecessary duplication and serious omission. The result of this study indicates a guide line for improving of consturcion safety inspection systems as a fundamental research.

Quality control and safety represent increasingly important concerns for project managers. In the worst case, failures may cause personal injuries or fatalities. Accidents during the construction process can similarly result in personal injuries and large costs. We present the results of a study designed to identify the tools that are most widely used and those that are associated with successful project management in general, and with effective project risk management in particular. The study is based on a questionnaire administered to a sample of project managers from construction enterprises. The response data was analyzed in order to find which tools are more likely to be used in the those organizations that report better project management performance and in those that value the contribution of risk management processes.

As the business environment for construction enterprises has been worse, the level of their dependence on public projects increases. Under these circumstances, the public owners should pursue more efficient management process and make continuous efforts to establish strategic project-oriented organizations. There are growing concerns on owners' role with the recognition that the public owners are the key stakeholders to improve effectiveness in public sectors and reinforce competitiveness of entire industry. This study reviewed the characteristics of public construction projects with the concept of program, evaluated the current status of program management capabilities, and discussed the requirement for effective program management.

As construction projects have been getting larger and more complex, a single individual or organization cannot have complete knowledge or the abilities to handle all matters. Collaborative practices among heterogeneous individuals, which are temporarily congregated to carry out a project, are required in order to accomplish project objectives. These organizational knowledge creation processes of project teams should be understood from the active and dynamic viewpoint of how they create information and knowledge rather than from the passive and static input-process-output sequence. To this end, agent-based modeling and simulation which is built from the ground-up perspective can provide the most appropriate way to systematically investigate them. In this paper, agent-based modeling and simulation as a research method and a medium for representing theory is introduced. To illustrate, an agent-based simulation of the evolution of collaboration in large-scale project teams from a game theory and social network perspective is presented.

In order to expand its entry into not only the domestic construction market but also overseas global markets, it is necessary to secure technological competitiveness, and as a fundamental measure, it is necessary to increase the proportion of R&D investment and establish and revitalize R&D organizations. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to analyze construction sales and construction R&D investment for global construction companies in Korea and Japan, derive implications, and provide basic data for government policy establishment and global construction company strategy establishment. As a result of analyzing R&D investments in construction companies in Korea and Japan, it can be seen that Japanese construction companies have higher R&D investment costs compared to sales compared to Korea. In particular, the proportion of R&D investment continues to increase year-on-year, strengthening global competitiveness due to technology development. In addition, Japanese construction companies have established a technology research institute to discover and conduct future R&D research such as advanced IT, disaster prevention, and environment.

The corrosion problem of rebar is a world wide concern of every engineer engaged in reinforced concrete business, clients, engineers construction contractor and maintenance organizations, all alike. The purpose of this thesis is to provide an appropriate trade-off information for the conflicting interests caused by the various factors between building owner and contractor during selecting the contractor and performing the construction work, in which the construction was contracted by open bidding from the government or private organizations. In order to propose the legitimate evidence, the differences between the domestic contract sheet of drawing change and the process of drawing change and those of the foreign countries were compared and analysed The number of construction ordered in Youngdong area in 2001 whose construction expenses are more than 100,000,000 won is 218 items and 147,005,000,000 won in total cost Among them, the number of 218 items whose total cost amounts to 16,705,000,000 (11.36$\%$) is in case of increase of construction expenses due to the drawing changes, and the number of 48 items whose tool cost amounts to 2,009,000,000 won (1.37$\%$) is the case of decrease. In conclusions, the contractor could have more benefits than the building owner in case they submit the detailed estimate sheet without eliminating the increasing expenses of construction. It is shown that the building owner's loss is increasing whenever the labor cost is higher material cost Therefore, this thesis proposes a proper standards for the harmonious compromise between the contractor and the building owner for the problems caused by the drawing changes when the contract agreement is occurred.

지식기반 경제라는 패러다임의 등장과 함께 건설 산업 역시 지식이 기업의 경쟁력을 좌우하는 요인이 되고 있다. 국내 건설산업은 90년대 중반부터 대형 건설 회사를 중심으로 지식경영을 도입하기 시작하였으며 현재 지식경영을 위해 많은 투자가 이루어진 상태다. 그러나 최근 지식경영에 대한 건설 조직의 전망은 상당히 회의적이다. 현행 건설 산업의 지식경영은 실무자의 요구사항을 만족시키지 못할 뿐만 아니라 실무자 입장에서 이중 업무의 부담으로 작용하여 활용도가 떨어지는 등 다양한 문제가 지적되고 있다. 따라서 본 연구는 국내 대형건설회사 소속의 건축프로젝트 시공단계 참여자를 대상으로 지식경영 인프라 만족도를 조사하여 현행 건설 산업 지식경영 전략의 적정성을 진단하고 향후 지식경영 개선 방향을 제시하는데 기초자료로 활용되고자 한다.

The regulation for industrial accident rate level assessment of construction companies was introduced to the construction industry in the Republic of Korea since 1993 and has brought positive outcome on industrial accidents reduction at construction work sites. There were considerable decrease of industrial accident ratio and enforcing of contrators' safety organizations from the beginning of the regulation for industrial accident rate level assessment. In spite of these positive outcomes, there were some negative effects such as contractors' shrinking accident reports to keep good accident ratios since these figures had a great impact on pre-qualification stage of bidding when general contractors were competing for new construction projects. In addition, Comprehensive evaluation bid system, which replaces the lowest price bid system is applied to government-ordered construction projects since 2016. Comprehensive evaluation bid system includes construction company's accident rate as one of the evaluation items and carries out with the industrial accident rate level assessment of construction companies at the same time. The regulations of two systems have been called for improvement to unify these different procedures and standards which have led business stakeholders to confusion for several years. This study aims to devote on lessening shrinking accident reports and to reduce the waste of business stakeholders through changing the regulation for industrial accident rate level assessment.

The efforts for sustainable development in building construction is widely applied by global organizations, governments, etc. However, according to the researchers, if the green rating systems on the building, it is reported that construction costs and durations are increased compared to conventional buildings. In this respect, the objective of this study is to identify the construction costs between LEED and non-LEED buildings. The scope of this study is limited in 21 university buildings of Canada. The methodology is as follows: First, the data of LEED and non-LEED buildings are collected in every university building. Second, the average construction costs per square meter is collected and normality check is conducted. Third, to identify statistical significance, the difference of average construction costs is analyzed by using T-test. As a result, it is concluded that the construction costs of LEED buildings are increased by approximately 3.8% more than non-LEED buildings. In the future, the results of this study can be applied to analyzing the additional costs according to the LEED grade in educational buildings.
