The urban renewal type redevelopment project is a project to improve the urban environment for the recovery of urban functions and revitalization of commercial districts in commercial and industrial areas. Urban regeneration projects are not progressing smoothly. The urban renewal type is not so for landowners, who require a high level of professional knowledge and experience to carry out smooth projects. In addition, the core part of business conflicts can be seen as the problem of management and disposal methods. Therefore, as landowners, etc. become the actual subjects, the public will take charge of project execution, but all development gains and losses will be attributed to the owner of the land, etc.

Recently the role and the importance of design value engineering is expected to be high, so research is needed for its effective accomplishment. But in domestic arena, the introduction of the history of design value engineering is too short and insufficient in act of research. Therefore in this research we have suggest the standard for the effective accomplishment of design value engineering work. The way is the abstraction many causes. firstly, we analyzed the team project case of value engineering professional instruction. second, we analyzed the cause of problem produced in accomplishment process of design value engineering work through research for the professional field. So from the base of the analyzed content, we have suggest main control factor for the effectiveness of design value engineering work and the following scheme and process of work efficiency optimization.

The Architectural, Engineering and Construction (AEC) industry has a culture of long working hours that sometimes extend to weekends. As a result, construction employees find it challenging to achieve a balance between their work and personal lives. It is believed that there is rarely a clear separation between employees' work and personal life in the AEC industry. This paper suggests that in order to attract and retain a talented workforce, AEC organizations have to cater for the diverse needs of employees with regard to work-life balance. This paper presents the results of a survey of both professional and managerial employees' perspective on work-life conflict issues in private and public AEC organizations. Perspectives were found to differ, although not significantly, by employees' experience, leadership experience, age and gender. Furthermore, most survey respondents noted that their employers did not have a policy or program in place supporting work-life balance initiatives. Finally, although the AEC industry is making strides to improve work-life balance, the effort is lagging behind other industry sectors in providing policies and programs to promote work-life balance through flexible work hours and various other means.

The volume of Construction project is increasing now in Korea. The complexity and variety makes the project many problems. But there are few construction contract experts. This results in a lot of managerial conflicts. Specially Engineer/Designer confront gigantic risk related to their job. So, to classify and to identify the risk practical investigation about Engineer/Designer's job. Therefore, to avoid and to prevent the claims for Engineer/Designer, clarification of the scope of service, use of external claim expert, and introduction of professional liability insurance should be accomplished.

This study focuses on improving quality management system of naval ships to enhance safety. Recently, there were problems caused by the lack of quality management system when building Korea naval ships. Foreign naval ships are designed and built through certification by professional organizations in the commercial sector to reduce budget and enhance ship safety. Merchant ships are designed, built, operated and maintained by the organizations in accordance with the Ship Safety Act. When naval ships are exported, the ordering country requires the certification from the international classification to ensure the safety and reliability of ships. Through this study, as a method of improving the quality management system of naval ships, design verification, equipment certification and construction survey using expertise of the organizations are proposed when designing and building the naval ships.

This study aims to analyze the current career management system for construction engineers and propose the developed future plan for the career management system. Especially, this study explores the Index of Construction Engineer's Competency(ICEC) and issues for workplace competency development which is the foundation of the career management system for construction engineers and proposes the advanced strategies for operating the career management system. For the developing the future strategy of the current construction engineer's career management system, a focus group interview was conducted in this study. Total 12 experts participated in the FGI. The study results identify the six key issues for advanced construction engineers' career management system. Those six issues include 1)preparing in the inducement of new human resources, 2)institutional modification of the current job/expertise fields, 3)attaching importance of practical experience in the workplace, 4)consideration of various factors of individual career, and 5)developing the highest level's workplace competency. Based on these research findings, theoretical and practical implication and suggestion for future studies were provided.

The necessity of professional construction management has been increased as a construction project is getting larger, more complex and specialized. Thus, the CM market has steadily expanded since 1996 in Korea. Despite the external expanding of the CM market, experts claim that domestic CM regulations and infrastructures should be revised. Therefore, this paper developed a causal map which consists of elements vitalizing CM market. Then, the simulation model using NUMBER (Normalized Unit Modeling by Elementary Relationships) to predict the size of the CM market is established. As a result, in the case of more regulation related CM, the quantity of CM projects could not reach of construction supervision until 2020. This paper can be used as a baseline providing a prospection of the change of CM market according to causal relation between the improvement as well as the base of revitalization research of CM market based on non-institutional factors change.

In order to improve the sustainability and smart construction, it is discussed arguably that developing and applying consistent "standard model" to plan business, design, construct and operate a building is considered to be one of the effective and efficient approach. The scope of this article is to examine, from the international developer's perspective, the "standard model" approach of a hotel brand to building projects in the UK, and also to explore potential role of project team to mitigate any local difference at the project level. These projects are developed by the same developer adopting the same business plan, design and operation to each project. In order to clarify the actual and likely difference in construction results, reference is also made to those building projects located in other geographical markets including Japan, Germany and USA, and focus is given on the analysis of its programme and cost. Principle findings are that there exists geographical difference especially in environmental and planning system, and that major local difference is found at least in the programme at the design stage. In contrast, the difference in the building cost itself may not be necessarily considered major if currency exchange rate being taken into account appropriately. It is also observed that there were cases where any difference in the programme was mitigated by taking different approach to procuring and defining roles of management and professional team at the project level. In conclusion, from the international developer's perspective, the geographical difference of the "construction system" surrounding building projects can typically lead to major prolongation of programme, however, these different construction results could be mitigated at least to a certain extent by introducing appropriate changes to the role of project team.

Although business Intelligence system is introduced to many companies over the past decade, The result of business benefits from BI investment are not so significant than expected. But still successful BI system can provide the ability to analyse business information in order to support and improve management decision making across a broad range of business activities. In recently, Business Analytics System(BA) is emerging as advanced alternative of outdated and inefficient BI System. This study is focus on constructing procedure of BA system in KB card company, which is major credit card company in South Korea. In practice there were just few works that mentioned well-designed environment of KMS system, and other contribution of this study is to make a platform which invoke revelation of collective intelligence in data analytic professional users group.

The purpose of this study is to examine the establishment and development of Daesoon Thought Thesaurus. Specifically, this study examined the matters to be considered in the stage of Thesauri planning according to the Thesauri Construction process : presents the methods and standards of Thesauri Construction according to processes such as identification of the indexing policy, establishment of Thesauri system, collection of vocabulary, selection of preferred term, clustering of the terms, establishment of term relationships, overall adjustment, Thesauri test, proofreading by professional display, maintenance and updating. Since religion information is unique or totally different from the information in other areas, it is most important to construct the Thesauri suitable for system after carefully recognizing the concept of religion terms.
