외기온 -20℃의 유지시간 변화에 따른 초기동해 피해의 기초적 연구 (Fundamental Research of Early Frozen Damage on Concrete Depending on Various Time Periods of -20℃ Temperature Condition)

  • The aim of the research is evaluating the feasibility of inspection for early age frozen damage and for expansion of concrete under the various time periods of -20℃ temperature condition. When the concrete samples were exposed for 12 hours and 24 hours, the frozen depth of the concrete were 10 and 60 mm, respectively, under the wet conditions. From the experiment results of temperature and expansion, only surface area suffered frozen damage for 12 hours exposing conditions while entire area suffered frozen damage for 24 hours exposing conditions.

  • In this study, stress-strain, thermal expansion strain, total strain and high temperature creep strain of ultra-high-strength concrete with compressive strengths of 80, 130, and 180MPa were experimentally evaluated considering elevated temperature and loading condition. Also, transient creep strain has been calculated by using the results of experiment. Experimental coefficient K was proposed with application of non-steady state creep model. It is considered that the experimental results of this study could be baseline data for deformation behavior analysis of ultra-high-strength concrete.

  • According to the increasing concern about health and environment, students need to study in comfort and clean environment facilities. We did field survey on 40 primary schools to analyze the present condition of design and construction for the part of indoor environmental performance in the certificated green school building. We hope that this paper will offer the important data about the indoor environment standards and performances in primary school facilities.

  • Nitrite-Type hydrocalumite (calumite) is a material that can provied a self-corrosion inhibition function to the reinforce concrete. In this study, bisphnol A·F type epoxy-midified mortars without hardner contaning calumite is prepared with various polimer-binder ratios, calumite contents and tow types of curing condition, and tested for flexural and compressive strength tensile strength and corrosion-inhibition. As a result, in the case of wet/dry curing condition, strengths of bisphnol A·F type epoxy-modified mortars without hardener contaning calumite is inclined to decrease with increasing of polymer-binder ratio and calumite content. However, dry cured specimens are slightly improved by using bisphnol A·F type epoxy resin. Finally, regardless of polymer-binder ratios and calumite contents, corrosion-inhibition of bisphnol A·F type epoxy-modified mortars without hardener containing calumite is superior than that of unmodified mortar.

  • This study investigates the effect of the diameters of reinforcement bars located in an euro-form before placing concrete in a cold weather condition. The diameters of reinforcement bars with 13 mm, 19 mm, 25 mm and 32 mm were prepared for the experimental tests. Results showed that the larger the size of the diameter of the bars, the higher were the temperature drop. However, this study found that its effect on the temperature drop of the bars was insignificant.

  • The water quality at the Dongbin Harbor at Pohang city, is getting worse due to the sewage and the wastewater from communities. In this syudy, RMA2 and RMA4, which is two-dimensional depth-averaged finite element numerical model, were employed to simulate the improvement of water quality from inflowing water through an inland canal to be planned connecting Dongbin Harbor and the Hyeongsan River. For the comparative result of the numerical model, both the present condition and the restoration condition (after construction of an inland canal) is simulated. The results of these conditions reasonably simulate a real situation at the Dongbin Harbor. After construction of an inland canal, the water quality at the Dongbin Harbor will be compared to the fresh water quality of the Hyeongsan River at the steady state. Futhermore, The result of simulation will be used to decide the most effective dimension of the canal.

  • Integrated water-soluble film is dissolved in the rubber asphalt waterproof sheet to secure adhesive strength on freshly cast concrete on the adhesion side of waterproofing layer on the floor slab. In addition, in order to determine whether the water in the concrete slurry can dissolve the water-soluble film sufficiently, the adhesive strength of the waterproofing sheet was compared between difference wetness condition at the upper part of the concrete specimen before the concrete casting.

  • This study was proceeded to analyze thixotropy of cement paste according to the addition timing of PVA and borax as a basic study of thixotropy of concrete. According to experiment results, the case added borax first and PVA later is that cement paste shows low thixotorpy, and the case added PVA first and borax later is that cement paste shows thixotropy but in certain mix condition fluidity of decrease due to a chemical bond between PVA and borax. The case add PVA and borax simultaneously is that cement paste was expressed thixotropy in all mix condition. Therefore the case add PVA and borax simultaneously is suitable for expressing thixotropy of cement paste.

  • Bridges are essential and valuable elements in road and rail transportation networks. Bridge remediation is a top priority for asset managers, but identifying the nature of true defect deterioration and associated remediation treatments remains a complex task. Nowadays Decision Support Systems (DSS) are used extensively to assist in decision-making across a wide spectrum of unstructured decision environments. In this paper a requirements-driven framework is used to develop a risk based decision support model which has the ability to quantify the bridge condition and find the best remediation treatments using Multi Attribute Utility Theory (MAUT), with the aim of maintaining a bridge within acceptable limits of safety, serviceability and sustainability.

  • For gasoline engines, a three-way catalytic converter that has the maximum efficiency at stoichiometric air/fuel ratio is used to clean up the exhaust gas. So a precise air/fuel ratio control is necessary to maximize the catalytic conversion efficiency, For a transient condition, a fred-forward air/fuel ratio control method that estimates the air mass inducted into a cylinder is being used. In this study, a fuel injection map that makes an accurate air/fuel ratio control possible was constructed for the very same transient condition. For the same condition above, intake air model and fuel model were refined so that fuel injection values based on air mass through a throttle valve and intake manifold pressure are equal to the map values.
