  • Now, in a domestic country, the rebuilding and redevelopment of existing houses has been rapidly increasing with an economic growth and the improvement of living condition. As a result of that, a lot of C&D waste has been also produced. Nevertheless, it is not easy to find the research results for appropriate treatment and management of C&D waste in domestic. Therefore this study suggests the optimum deconstruction management system for minimizing construction waste and increasing reuse or recycle rate of material different from traditional demolition. The system makes it possible to plan and manage in advance quantity of C&D waste, demolition methods of each structural elements and application methods of produced C&D waste through an integrated and computerized system. The purpose of the system is ultimately to contribute to minimizing environmental damages and reducing construction waste quantity of a country. This system is largely composed of four modules such as planning of preliminary demolition survey, estimating of demolition quantity, planning of demolition schedule and planning of construction waste management and each module can be also used individually according to the purpose of a user.

  • This paper proposes a process to calculate the amount of construction and demolition (C&D) of underground vertical extension methods through considering the characteristics of used construction and demolished materials. The underground vertical extension methods analyzed in this paper were the bottom-up, normal top-down, and top-down methods with multi-post downward (MPD). In order to check the applicability of the proposed process, 24 illustrative examples were generated. The amount of C&D waste of the illustrative examples were calculated and compared. As the results, the top-down method with MPD was the most efficient method to reduce the amount of C&D waste.

  • Currently, one of the most interested things at home and abroad country will be an eco-friendly construction. Among these, one of the most important elements will be the recycle and reuse of construction and demolition waste. Because construction waste is generated the most at the demolition phase, it is important to minimize the quantity of the demolition waste at the phase. And it is also important to develop a system to manage rightly the generated demolition waste. But in the domestic country, a research for this has hardly been carried out. In recent, the government has realized its importance and is making a research to improve demolition technique and is preparing a research to make a raw for deconstruction. Therefore, this study examined its application situation and importance by analyzing the trend of demolition technique used in the domestic industry. Also this study carried out a survey for situation analysis of the demolition industry. This study suggested items needed for the development of demolition technique, demolition design and reduction of C&D waste through a survey results and a situation analysis.

  • In this country, now redevelopment and rebuild is becoming largely because it is improving welfare and life condition with high growth of economy. Also, the scale of construction project is trend to increase to adjust the changing social situation. Accordingly, C&D waste is rising largely because of the increased demolition works in city. The right management of C&D waste is becoming one of very important things, but little research has been conducted to estimate correctly C&D waste. This study suggests standard units of C&D waste which can estimate demolition quantity of apartment. These units can estimate easily and correctly C&D waste in demolition works and also can make it possible to use very important material to carry out policy of national waste management.

  • Currently, major interested thing at home and abroad is to pursuit a sustaining development of an environmental construction industry through low discharge of carbon dioxide and reuse of construction waste and so on. In order to achieve those goals, we must develop the design technique which can reduce a generated amount of C&D waste from a design phase and technique which can reduce and recycle C&D waste generated at a demolition phase. But a domestic policy for the development and the support of a demolition industry is analyzed to be more insufficient than other advanced country. Therefore, this study analyzed a demolition market trend of foreign country and assessed properties of a domestic demolition industry. Also this study forecasted a scale of a demolition market and analyzed its trend based on total number of housing construction per year. Consequently, this study suggested the development direction of a demolition industry through those analyzed results, expecting the research results to be a fundamental data for the development of demolition industry and the policy of construction waste.

  • It is needed to classify the kinds of construction and demolition(c&d) debris to 6 catagories of waste concrete, waste asphalt concrete, waste wood, scraps, combustible waste and incombustible waste in order to properly do a separate discharge and to estimate unit generation rate in construction site. Also, in this case, the unit treating cost for mixed wastes should be applied with the unit treating cost for combustible waste. The construction standard materials estimation data is used for basic data for estimating unit generation rate. The mixed wastes in this data should be classified to waste wood, combustible waste and incombustible waste, and their ratio is obtained by using the unit generation rate of Asia Pacific Environment and Management Institute and Seoul Metropolitan Development Institute. The waste amounts generated from newly-built construction can be obtained from multiplying the loss rate by the amount of materials used from construction standard estimation data. Also, those from dismantling construction can be obtained by subtracting waste amount generated during newly-built construction from total input amount of materials in newly-built construction. Those in two cases can be used in construction site. It can be used for estimating the amount generated and establishing the treating plan in the case of setting up the policy of waste management and doing the environment impact assessment.

  • China is experiencing the urbanization at an unprecedented speed and scale in human history. The continuing growth of China's big cities, both in city land and population, has already led to great challenges in China's urban planning and construction activities, such as the continuous increase of construction and demolition (C&D) waste. Therefore, how to characterize cities' construction activities, particularly dynamically quantify the flows of building materials and construction debris, has become a pressing problem to alleviate the current shortage of resources and realize urban sustainable development. Accordingly, this study is designed to employ 4D-GIS (four dimensions-Geographic Information System) and Internet Plus to offer new approach for accurate but dynamic C&D waste management. The present study established a spatio-temporal pattern and material metabolism evolution model to characterize the geo-distribution of C&D waste by combing material flow analysis (MFA) and 4D-GIS. In addition, this study developed a mobile application (APP) for C&D waste trading and information management, which could be more effective for stakeholders to obtain useful information. Moreover, a cloud database was built in the APP to disclose the flows of C&D waste by the monitoring information from vehicles at regional level. To summarize, these findings could provide basic data and management methods for the supply and reverse supply of building materials. Meanwhile, the methodologies are practical to C&D waste management and beyond.

  • Hereafter, the domestic housing industry has to give consequence to the redevelopment and rebuilding of existing housings rather than the supply by developing a new building site, and now those tendencies are rapidly spreading out. Also, because apartment buildings occupies 50% over of the existing housing, its maintenance, repair, remodeling and reconstruction got to be necessary area for the slumming prevention of a residential area and the disaster prevention occurred by durability lowering of the building. Accordingly, C&D waste is rising largely by reason of demolition works in city is increasing. The right management of C&D waste is being one of very important things, but little research has been conducted to estimate correctly C&D waste. In this study is to suggest standard units of C&D waste which can estimate demolition quantity of apartment. This units can estimate easily and correctly C&D waste in demolition works, also can possible use very important material to carry out policy of national waste management.

  • Now, in a domestic country, the rebuilding and redevelopment of existing houses has been rapidly increasing with an economic growth and the improvement of living condition. The percentage of C&D waste among generating waste in domestic is more and more increasing. Accordingly, Our government or company are doing much effort to decrease the C&D waste. But now, we can not find any results about system development for estimating and managing rightly the C&D waste quantity. Now, much social cost are increasing for reason of the institutional inertia for forecasting quantity of C&D waste. Therefore, This study suggest some methods be able to estimate it of apartment easily. The methods are composed with utilization of a basic unit, a CAD drawing and a 3D object. Each module can be also used individually according to the purpose of a user.
