  • A new scheme to measure the rotor time constant and to set the slip gain of a vector-controller is presented. The approach utilizes the phase difference between the torque producing component of the stator current and rotor current in the stationary frame. It is shown that the rotor time constant can be uniquely identified by detecting the corresponding phase difference. The simulation was carried out by considering the variation of other parameters and the torque producing component of the stator current frequency.

  • The SRM has high efficiency, a wide speed range, high speed capability and DC-series Motor characteristics. So the SRM has been studied as adjustable speed machine. The speed of SRM can be adjusted to switching angle and exciting voltage. This paper suggests an constant speed drive method of SRM. In this method, the speed is controlled by voltage regulation using PI control and the torque is controlled by advance angle in accordance with, load torque variation.

  • This paper deals with design and characteristics analysis of 7.5-kW, 60,000-rpm class permanent magnet synchronous motor for turbo compressor. In order to determine the design parameters of rotor, torque per rotor volume method is applied. And, to analyze the magnetic field distribution and estimate the electrical parameters such as back EMF constant, inductance and torque constant, electromagnetic transfer relations theorem is employed. We compare the characteristics analysis results of model designed by proposed method with those by nonlinear FEA. As a result of this, the design have been validated.

  • Parameter estimation of induction motor for vector control presented in this paper can be easily implemented and applied to inverters in the industrial field, because it needs no additional hardware such as voltage sensor and measuring equipment. At first, the stator resistance including switching loss of inverter is measured by simple voltage-current equation. Next, in pre-magnetization of machine by imposing the d-axis constant field-current, q-axis torque current is forced to the machine until its speed feedback reachs to pre-defined level of speed limit. At this time, we can measure the rotor time-constant by decreasing the distorted output-voltage of inverter. At last, stator inductance, transient inductance, and moment of inertia can be measured by the relationship of output voltage, output torque and speed feedback. The validity and usufulness of this method is verified by experimental results.

전륜 인라인 후륜 인휠 모터 적용 전기자동차의 최적 동력 분배 (Optimal Power Distribution for an Electric Vehicle with Front In-line Rear In-wheel Motors)

  • In this paper, an optimal power distribution algorithm is proposed for the small electric vehicle with front in-line and rear in-wheel motors. First, it is assumed that the vehicle driving torque and velocity are given conditions. And, an optimal problem is defined that finding the front and rear motor torques which minimizes the battery power. From the above optimization problem, the optimized front-rear motor torque distribution map is obtained. And, the vehicle simulations are performed to verify the performance of the optimal power distribution algorithm which is proposed in this study. The simulations are performed based on the federal urban driving schedule for two cases which are constant ratio power distribution, and optimal power distribution. From the simulation results, it is found that the optimal power distribution shows the 6.3% smaller battery energy consumption than the constant ratio power distribution.

피치제어형 풍력발전시스템의 출력제어 (Power Control of a Pitch-controlled Wind Power System)

  • The paper presents a power control algorithm for a full pitch-controlled wind power system. The design of a pitch controller, in general, is performed by linearizing the torque in the vicinity of a operating point assuming the tip speed ratio is constant. For power control, however, the tip speed ratio is no longer a constant. In this study, a reference pitch model is derived in terms of a wind speed, angular velocity, and pitch angle. The reference pitch model is used to design a controller without linearizing the non-linear torque model of the blade. The validity of the algorithm is demonstrated with the results produced through sets of simulation.

  • When actual IPMSM is driving, it is difficult to figure out the correct current during the current control period due to the operation speed limit of digital signal processing. Therefore, in order to control IPMSM for electric vehicle efficiently, we should design 2D Look-up Table to find out optimal current reference corresponding to speed and torque of IPMSM. This paper explains the design method of 2D Look-up Table for optimal current control of constant torque area and constant output area of IPMSM for electric vehicle. Finally, experimental results are presented to verify the reliability of 2D Look-up Table.

  • In this paper, a vector control of the IPMSM drives for the next generation domestic high speed railway system is presented. The applied control method uses one pulse mode field weakening control in constant power region, and maximum torque control per ampere control in constant torque region considering current and voltage limits. An overmodulation control interval is inserted to improve the transient characteristics during transition period of the control modes. Simulation programs based on Matlab/Simulink are developed. Finally the designed system is verified by simulation and their characteristics are analyzed by the simulation results.

  • This Paper described a robust control of an induction motor using a disturbance cancellation observer of a feedforward control, The speed response of conventional Pl controller characteristic is affected by variations of load torque disturbance. Tn the proposed system, the speed control characteristic using a feedforward control isn't affected by a load torque disturbance.

  • In this paper an induction motor control using fuzzy controller and neural network adptive observer is studied. The proposed observer which comprises neural network flux observer which comprises neural network flux observer and neural network torque observer is trained to learn the flux dynamics and torque dynamics and subjected to further on-line training by means of a backpropagation algorithem. Therefore it has been shown that the robust control of induction motor neglects the rotor time constant variations
