고강도 DP강과 TRIP강의 표면 수소 주입량에 따른 수소취성평가 (The Change of Microstructures According to the Charging Amounts of Hydrogen in High Strength DP Steels and TRIP Steel)

  • Hydrogen charging was electrochemically conducted at high strength DP steels and TRIP steel with varying charging time. The penetration depths and the mechanical properties with charging conditions were investigated through the distribution of micro-hardness and the microstructural observation of the subsurface zone. The micro-Vickers hardness was measured to evaluate the hydrogen embrittlement of subsurface zone in addition to the microscope investigation. It was shown that the hydrogen amounts decreased in DP steels and TRIP steel with increasing hydrogen charging time. As shown by micro-Vickers hardness test and small punch test results, micro-Vickers hardness and SP energy for DP steels and TRIP steel decreased with increasing hydrogen charging time, for constant value of charging current density. SEM investigation results for the hydrogen contained samples showed that the major fracture behavior was brittle fracture which results in dimples on fractured surface and the size of dimples were decreased with increasing hydrogen charging time. These results indicate that hydrogen embrittlement is the major cause for the fracture of high strength steels and also micro-Vickers hardness test and small punch test is a valuable test method for hydrogen embrittlement of high strength sheet steels.

Evaluation of Tolerance of Some Elemental Impurities on Performance of Pb-Ca-Sn Positive Pole Grids of Lead-Acid Batteries

  • The electrochemical performance of positive pole grids of lead-acid batteries made of Pb-0.08%Ca-1.1%Sn alloys without and with 0.1 wt% of each of Cu, As or Sb and with 0.1 wt% of Cu, As and Sb combined was investigated by electrochemical methods in 4.0 M $H_2SO_4$. The corrodibility of alloys under open-circuit conditions and constant current charging of the positive pole, the positive pole gassing and the self-discharge of the charged positive pole were studied. All impurities (Cu, As, Sb) were found to decrease the corrosion resistance, $R_{corr}$ after 1/2 hour corrosion, but after 24 hours an improvement in $R_{corr}$ was recorded for Sb containing alloy and the alloy with the three impurities combined. While an individual impurity was found to enhance oxygen evolution reaction, the impurities combined significantly inhibition this reaction and the related water loss problem was improved. Impedance results were found helpful in identification of the species involved in the charging/discharging and the self-discharge of the positive pole. Impurities individually or combined were found to increase the self-discharge during polarization (33-68%), where Sb containing alloy was the worst and impurities combined alloy was the least. The corrosion of the positive pole grid in the constant current charging was found to increase in the presence of impurities by 5-10%. Under open-circuit, the self-discharge of the charged positive grids was found to increase significantly (92-212%) in the presence of impurities, with Sb-containing alloy was the worst. The important result of the study is that the harmful effect of the studied impurities combined was not additive but sometimes lesser than any individual impurity.

  • 본 논문에서는 하이브리드 자동차용 보조전원 공급이 목적인 DC-DC Converter에 대하여 기술하였다. DC-DC Converter는 차량 내의 헤드램프, 오디오, 각종 ECU등 전기/전자 부하에 전력을 공급하며 또한 12V 보조 배터리를 충전하는데 사용된다. 고주파 동작 조건하에서 유기되는 전자파 노이즈와 스위칭 손실을 저감하기 위하여 컨버터 토폴로지로 위상천이 영전압 풀브리지 방식을 적용하였으며 제어기의 용이한 보상 및 안정된 시스템 응답 특성을 위하여 슬로프 보상이 포함된 전류 모드 제어방식을 사용하였다 정전압/정전류 충전 제어 방식은 전기부하에 안정적인 전원공급과 보조 배터리의 안정적인충전을 보장한다. 초기의 회로 파라메타 설정 및 하드웨어 디버깅을 위하여 시뮬레이션 툴로 PSIM 6.0을 사용하였으며. DC-DC Converter에서 스위칭 소자의 발열문제는 Thermo Tracer 장비를 사용하여 개선하였다.

  • (Ba$_{0.6}$Sr$_{0.4}$)TiO$_3$(BST) thin films were fabricated with different deposition temperature by Pulsed Laser Deposition(PLD). This BST thin films showed a maximum dielectric constant value of $\varepsilon$$_{r}$=~684 and dielectric loss was ~0.01 when substrate temperature was 75$0^{\circ}C$. Charge storage density of BST thin film was 4.733 [$\mu$C/$\textrm{cm}^2$] and estimated charging time was 0.15 nsec. Leakage current density of BST thin film was below 10$^{-7}$ [A/$\textrm{cm}^2$] at 3V. 3V.V.

  • In order to investigate the effect of irradiation by $^{60}Co-\gamma$rays as well as the e thermal treatment on the dielectric deterioration in ethylene propylene rubber, insulating material for electric cables used in atomic power plants, charging discharging current, residual built- up voltage and dielectric properties are measu discussed in this study. Variance in the characteristic of relative dielectric constant as a function of tem was observed in relatively high dose of irradiation. Since glass transition tem appeared at tens of degree Celsius below zero, the characteristic is attributed orientation polarization. Dielectric loss is generally increased, with increasing d irradiation in the characteristic of dielectric loss as a function of temperature, No d loss by thermal treatment was observed. Dielectric resistance decreases with increa of irradiation in the characteristic of charging current as a function of temperature be considered that dielectric resistance seems to be recovered by thermal treatm characteristic of discharging current as a function of time in the specimen less ir become similar to that of the unirradiated, when thermal treated. A peak is shown residual built- up voltage as a function of time, and the corresponding time of the shorten as increasing dose of irradiation. It is also observed that the corresponding the peak is lengthened by thermal treatment.

Cascaded Buck-Boost 컨버터를 이용한 태양광 모듈 집적형 저전압 배터리 충전 장치 개발 (Development of PV Module Integrated Type Low Voltage Battery Charger using Cascaded Buck-Boost Converter)

  • In this paper, in order to use module integrated converter using cascaded buck-boost converter for a low battery charger in stand-alone system, a charging algorithm which considers photovoltaic and battery status and PWM controllers which are changed according to charging modes are proposed. The proposed algorithm consists of constant current mode, constant voltage mode and maximum power point tracking mode which enables the battery to charge with maximum power rate. This paper also presents design of cascaded buck-boost converter that is the photovoltaic charger system. A 150W prototype system is built according to verify proposed the charger system and the algorithm.

  • Modern embedded systems are typically operated by the rechargeable batteries in our daily life. Since charge of batteries is considered as an time consuming task, there have been extensive efforts to manage the charge time from the perspective of materials, circuits, and systems. Estimation of battery charge time is one of the essential information to design the charge circuitry. A compact macro model for the constant-current and constant-voltage charge protocol was recently introduced, which gives us a quick estimation of charge time with similar shape to the famous Peukert's law for discharge time estimation. The CC-CV charging protocol is widely used for Lithium-based batteries and Lead-acid batteries. In this paper, we characterize the lead-acid battery by measurement to extract the model coefficients, which was not covered by the previous studies. By our proposed model, the key coefficient Kcc results in 1.18-1.31, which is little bit higher than that of Lithium batteries. The accuracy of our model is within the range of ${\pm}10%$ error, which is compatible with the other studies such as Peukert's law.

A Buck-Boost Type Charger with a Switched Capacitor Circuit

  • In this paper, a buck-boost type battery charger is developed for charging battery set with a lower voltage. This battery charger is configured by a rectifier circuit, an integrated boost/buck power converter and a switched capacitors circuit. A boost power converter and a buck power converter sharing a common power electronic switch are integrated to form the integrated boost/buck power converter. By controlling the common power electronic switch, the battery charger performs a hybrid constant-current/constant-voltage charging method and gets a high input power factor. Accordingly, both the power circuit and the control circuit of the developed battery charger are simplified. The switched capacitors circuit is applied to be the output of the boost converter and the input of the buck converter. The switched capacitors circuit can change its voltage according to the utility voltage so as to reduce the step-up voltage gain of the boost converter when the utility voltage is small. Hence, the power efficiency of a buck-boost type battery charger can be improved. Moreover, the step-down voltage gain of the buck power converter is reduced to increase the controllable range of the duty ratio for the common power electronic switch. A prototype is developed and tested to verify the performance of the proposed battery charger.

Semi-Circular Potential Sweep Voltammetry: Electrochemically Quasi-Reversible System

  • The novel voltammetry using a semi-circular potential wave for quasi-reversible charge transfer system on electrode is theoretically investigated. Compared with conventional voltammetry based on linear sweep such as linear sweep voltammetry (LSV), semi-circular potential sweep voltammetry (SCV) may decrease the charging current outside the center of potential range and increase the faradaic current at the midpoint due to variable scan rate. In this paper, we investigate the system based on macroelectrode where simple 1 dimensional (1 D) diffusion system is valid with various charge transfer rate constant (k0). In order to observe the amplification at midpoint, voltammetric response with different midpoint ranging from -200 mV to 200 mV are studied. SCVs shows both the shift of peak potential and the amplification of peak current for quasi-reversible electrode reaction while only higher peak current is observed for reversible reaction. Moreover, the higher current at midpoint enable the amplification of current at low overpotential region which may assist the determination of onset potential as a figure-of-merit in electrocatalyst.

  • The value of charge current, discharge current, $\varepsilon_r$' $\varepsilon_r"$, residual voltage was measured inorder to investigate electric properties in Ethylene Prophylene Rubber for is irradiated $CO^{60}\gamma$ ray 0-38.1 Mrad. The value of charge current and the discharging current of the EPR is influenced by $CO^{60}-{\gamma}$-irradiation dose The charging current and the discharging current of EPR increase, depending on the ratio of degradation. As the irradiation dose is increased, the peak of residual voltage moves to the slorter time. The properties specific electric constant due to time variation was appeared dispersion by plentiful $CO^{60}-{\gamma}$-irradiation dose. The increase of peak in $\varepsilon_r"$ is attrib uted to the irratiation dose almost proportionally.
