매입형 영구자석 동기전동기의 약계자 제어시 운전 특성 (Field-weakening control driving characteristics of Interior Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor)

  • In order to use the high-speed range of Interior Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor(same as IPMSM above), the motor should be at flux weakening control status. High-speed range is called field weakening control region or constant power region, and explain the basic theory of flux weakening control used in the constant power region. Back electromotive force of IPMSM is measured. and field weakening conrtrol driving characteristics is configurated verification test. Through experimentation speed-torque characteristic curve, the efficiency variation corresponding to the current phase angl,the efficiency map were produced.

Development of Traction Unit for 2-motor Driven Electric Vehicle

  • This paper describes a development of traction unit for 2-motor driven electric vehicle (EV). The traction unit is consisted with an interior permanent magnet synchronous motor (IPMSM), a reduction gear and an inverter for electric vehicle that is driven by 2 motors without differential gear. For traction unit, prototype IPMSM and inverter have been developed. The IPMSM was designed by CAD program that was developed with both equivalent circuit method and FEM. Also the inverter was developed to drive 2 motors with 6 legs IGBT switches in a control board. The vector control algorithm was implemented with maximum torque control method in the constant torque region and field weakening control method in the constant power region considering inverter capacity. To verify that the traction unit is more high efficiency and has more high power density than a traction unit with induction motor with the same power, we would like to show the results about the design and analysis of the IPMSM and the experiment results about the traction unit.

  • NPC 멀티레벨 인버터는 2-레벨 인버터 방식에 비해 전력용 반도체 소자의 정격 전압과 출력전류의 고조파를 감소시킬 수 있는 장점이 있어 고압 대용량 전동기 구동시스템에 적합하다. NPC 3-레벨 인버터를 이용한 IPMSM의 속도 제어에서 일정 토크 영역에서는 최대 토크 제어, 일정 출력 영역에서는 약계자 제어 방식을 적용하였다. 제안된 시스템은 MATLAB/Simulink를 이용한 시뮬레이터를 구현하여 모의 시험 결과 분석을 통해 그 타당성을 검증하였다.

  • Single phase switched reluctance motor has a high speed capability, due to its very robust rotor, and requires only one electronic power switch in its control circuitry. The latter feature considerably reduces the cost of the drive system. But it involves starting problem and strongly torque ripple, which means that the motor is not suitable for application that require constant torque or speed. To solve torque ripple and region of these problem, this paper presents a single phase Switched Reluctance Motor model with a barrier rotor pole. Also it is simulated the designed prototype model by FEM for the prediction of characteristics.

  • Synchronous Reluctance Motor (SynRM) has a simple structure with high efficient and without rotor conductor loss. Therefore, it is better than induction motor for electric vehicle (EV) on aspect of efficiency. SynRM usually operates on the constant torque region using maximum torque per ampere (MTPA)control which is adopted due to rotor structure limitation. Thus, the accurate current angle is crucial for motor control. However, finite element analysis (FEA) program is not sufficient exactly to regard how the iron loss and magnetic saturation influences on the current angle. Consequently, this paper proposed a method to calculate the current angle with consideration of iron loss.

  • The induction motor drive for the spindle of machining center is required to do not only a constant torque operation in low speed region(below base rpm), but also a constant power operation in high speed region(beyond base rpm). Also, control voltage shortage due to high speed operation must be overcome. The vector controlled inverter system with input 3 phase pwm converter is designed for that kind of condition. We experimented the performance of the inverter system with spindle motor made by Hyosung industries co.

  • This paper presents a novel reference variable speed control scheme of a BLDC motor for the high-speed blender machine according to the current limit. Because of a pulsating load variation of a high-speed blender machine, the actual speed is pulsated by the current limit in the high-speed region. The proposed control scheme uses a variable reference speed to reduce the speed variation from the current limit in the constant power region. The pulsated load is occurred at the material crushing, then the pulsated load is reduced after grinding. The reference speed is smoothly reduced at the pulsated load variation, then the enough torque can make a constant speed during crushing. When the pulsating load is reduced, the reference speed is automatically increased to the original speed value. The proposed control scheme is verified by experimental result by practical blender machine.

  • This paper describes current controlled PWM technique of IPM synchronous motors for a wide variety of speed control applications. They are however limited in their ability to operate in the power limited regime where the available torque is reduced as the speed is increased above its base value. This paper reviews the operation of the IPMSM drives when they are constrained to be within the permissible envelope of maximum inverter voltage and current to produce the rated power and to provide this with the highest attainable rotor speed. This paper proposes a new field-weakening control algorithm using phase current feedback to improve the torque characteristics and to reduce the torque ripple of IPMSM in the constant power region. The improved torque characteristics of speed control strategy with current feedback control algorithm is analyzed and the performance is investigated by the computer simulation results.

  • The injection of polymer can significantly reduce drag, particularly in the turbulent flow region where the mutual interaction between the polymer and turbulent vortices occurs. In this study, Taylor-Couette flow of PEO-in-water solutions with a rotating inner cylinder was analyzed. Despite the shear-thinning behaviour of PEO-in-water solutions being well-documented, for a given range of shear rates their viscosity remains nearly constant. By varying the polymer concentration, we analyzed the torque evolution of different solutions followed by the viscoelasticity effects of the polymer on the interphase transition points. The torque was analyzed using a dimensionless torque scaling method, which allows for the assessment of the fluid's momentum transport capabilities. It was observed that for low concentrations of PEO, the flow behaviour exhibited only minor differences in comparison to that of water, the Newtonian fluid. However, once the PEO concentration exceeded the polymer overlap concentration, the flow behaviour was significantly altered.

약계자 영역에서 유동전동기 인덕턴스의 새로운 온라인 동조방법 (New On-line Tuning Scheme of Inductances for Induction Motors in Field Weakening Region)

  • 본 논문에서는 유도 전동기의 회전자 자속 기준 벡터 제어시 약계자 영역에서의 성능 향상을 위한 유도 전동기 인덕턴스 성분들의 변동에 대한 새로운 온라인 추정 방법을 제시한다. 역기전력을 적분하여 얻는 고정자 자속과 고정자 전류를 이용하여 고정자 과도 인덕턴스와 고정자 자기 인덕턴스를 추정하며, 추정된 고정자 자기 인덕턴스 값에서 자화 인덕턴스를 추정하고, 추정된 고정자과도 인덕턴스 값에서 회전자 누설 인덕턴스를 추정한다. 온라인 동조를 위해 비례 적분 제어기를 사용한다. 제안한 방법으로 시뮬레이션과 실험을 수행하여 제안한 방법의 효과와 타당성을 증명한다.
