Ecological corridor is the facility to connect two habitats fragmented by roads, dam, housing and industrial area. Critics of faunal corridors have suggested that they are simply an untested application of unproved island biogeography theory. But, everyone agree that ecological corridor is important useful structural components that help animal movement in fragmented landscapes. There are 52 ecological corridors in Korea. We investigated 43 ecological corridors of these and recorded the size of corridor, planting species, management and growth condition. We compared planting species to nearby exiting vegetation species and structure. We found that there are no considerations for many aspects of planting, for example, planting species, structure, animal migration and behavior, surrounding vegetation etc. Expecially, It was ignored management of plants, difference of surrounding vegetation, lacks of diverse planting species and structure. We suggest planting the native species of tall tree, shrub and ground cover, edge planting for transitional space between road and natural habitat, planting for foraging and breeding of target animal, diverse layer vegetation, and open space of center for rapid animal dispersal.

Information security becomes a critical attribute to corporate information systems as increased strategic an operational reliance on information systems. Current proliferation of password requires more attention on information security because its nature of external connection with password user makes information systems more vulnerable from various threats are an important element of information systems management. This study focused on two issues : (1) the relationships between risk management factors(asset, threat, vulnerability) and risk level affected by threat, (2) the relationships between risk level and key password characteristics(length, composition, lifetime, selection method).

This study aims to develop some guidelines on visiting nursing services for the management of hypertension patients at home in the rural areas of Korea. Firstly, in-depth interviews were given to the eight staff in charge of visiting nursing services in the rural health centers from June 1, 1999 to August 30, 1999. And then, their five patients with hypertension were under participatory observation. At the same time, literature review was conducted. Through those methods, some preliminary items were derived and the initial guidelines were drawn up. They were referred to ten experts, so that their validity was tested with Delphi Technique. Through the verification of their validity, they were complemented into the final ones. The total number of the items in the final guidelines was 22. By areas, they could be categorized as follows; eight items as skilled nursing care, five as general nursing care, three as guidance for diet, two as guidance for exercise, one as hospice care, and one as connection with social welfare services. By methods of activities, 13 items were classified as assessment, two as intervention, two as demonstration, and 17 as explanation. On the basis of the guidelines, nursing services are recommended to be divided and performed; general nursing activities by nurse aids and skilled nursing activities by public health nurses.

This study analyzes the current usage of SD500 high-strength re-bar in domestic construction sites. Also, an evaluation method was developed to measure economic efficiency of lap splice and coupler splice, which are most commonly used in connection SD500. The evaluation method was applied to construction sites in Seoul in December 2006, and the result revealed that coupler splice is relatively superior in terms of cost efficiency when the re-bar diameter is bigger and the concrete strength is lower.

The purpose of this study was to investigate social workers' personal experiences providing social support to multi-cultural family in a multi-cultural family center. The data were collected through in-depth interviews with 14 social workers at the multi-cultural family center, and were analyzed using a phenomenological research method. The major findings were as follows : The social workers' personal experiences with and understanding of social support were classified as 4 categories : 'source of emotional support to the multi-cultural family', 'diverse and systematic educational support', 'excessive demands on material support', and 'daily life support and connection with community network'. The social workers recognized emotional and educational support as essential factors in providing social support to multi-cultural family. However, the social workers' perceptions of material support derived from negative personal experiences stemming from excessive demands and misunderstanding for material support. These results showed that social workers at the multi-cultural family center provided multi-cultural families with social support and that they interacted with community support system and multi-cultural families to increase their satisfaction.

This study aims at examining the effect of word-of-mouth communication through mini homepage on purchase attributes and mapping out a marketing strategy based on this. For this, it made an analysis of the communication level with 302 mini homepage users. The result showed that the communication level of information exchange has a positive effect on the purchase experience of food service products significantly, showing that the higher its level is, the more frequent its experience is. And it showed that the communication level of relationship retention has a negative effect on the purchase experience of food service products significantly, showing that the higher its level is, the less frequent its experience is. These results demonstrated the utility that can increase word-of-mouth communications through information exchange and relationship retention, given that they are used with the object based on the kinship of information exchange and relationship retention as word-of-mouth communications, and that they lay stress on the connection with other people in the mini homepage.

Nowadays an information exchange on XML such as B2B electronic commerce is spreading. Therefore the systematic and stable management mechanism for storing the exchanged Information is needed. For this goal there are many research activities for connection between XML application and relational database. But because XML data have hierarchical structures and relational database can store only flat-structured data, we need to store XML data in object-oriented database that support hierarchical structure. Accordingly the modeling methodology for storing XML data in object-oriented database is needed. In order to build good quality application systems, modeling is an important first step. In 1997, the OMG adopted the UML as its standard modeling language. Since industry has warmly embraced UML, its popularity should become more important in the future. So a design methodology based on UML is need to develop efficiently XML applications. In this paper, we propose a unified design methodology for XML applications based on object- oriented database using UML. To this goal, first we introduce a XML modeling methodology to design W3C XML schema using UML and second we propose data modeling methodology for object-oriented database schema to store efficiently XML data in object-oriented databases.

The LBS(Location Based Service) technology plays an important role in reducing wastes of time, losses of human lives and economic losses by detecting the user's location in order by suggesting the optimal evacuation route of the users in case of safety accidents. We developed an algorithm to estimate indoor location, movement path and indoor location changes of smart phone users based on the built-in sensors of smartphones and the dead-reckoning algorithm for pedestrians without a connection with smart devices such as Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. Furthermore, seven different indoor movement scenarios were selected to measure the performance of this algorithm and the accuracy of the indoor location estimation was measured by comparing the actual movement route and the algorithm results of the experimenter(pedestrian) who performed the indoor movement. The experimental result showed that this algorithm had an average accuracy of 95.0%.

While ginseng is reported to have a wide array of applications, there is growing evidence for its indications in diabetes and vascular disease. A clear connection, however, has not been established between ginseng's composition, dose and its targeted efficacy in humans. We therefore developed and initiated the Korean Red Ginseng Clinical Testing Program for diabetes and vascular function which is an efficacy and safety-based clinical screening model for ginseng. The most efficacious sources, ginsenoside profiles, doses, and modes of administration were examined in sequential, acute, followed by long term, randomized-controlled trials to investigate the efficacy and safety profiles. This review discusses the current state of the clinical research of Korean red ginseng program conducted in Toronto, paving the way for the use of clinically selected ginseng and its ginsenoside fractions in the management of diabetes and vascular diseases.

While the existing research took approach method that uniformly divided the cultural difference between specific countries into individualism - collectivism in the dimension of comparative culture, this research defines the cultural sense of value of domestic university students and company employees in accordance with horizontalism-verticalism pattern within it to corroboratively define the diverse effects of advertisements of standardization and localization of global enterprises. Researching the difference of cultural sense of value owing to this generation of Korean university students and company employees, Korean university students showed prominent propensity of vertical-individualism value and company employees, propensity of horizontal-collectivism value. Researching comparatively the effect of advertisements for standardization and localization of global enterprises in connection with Korean university students and company employees, it turned out Korean university students prominently prefer localization advertisement in the TV advertisement of global enterprises and company employees, standardization advertisement. Especially, the difference between standardization advertisement and localization advertisement of university students and company employees was very remarkable in trademark attitude and advertisement information rather than advertisement attitude. With respect to model appearing in the advertisement, it turned out university students prefer localization advertisement where domestic models appear and company employees prefer standardization advertisement where foreign models appear.
