A Study on the Social Welfare Needs of the Aged Chronic Patients and Their Family (만성질환노인 및 가족의 사회복지적 욕구에 대한 연구)

  • Considering the characteristics of the Korean family which maintain a close connection with their patients from the moment of their falling sick to hospitalization to discharge, the family is the most important environmental factor of the social supporting system, and is the important object of the client as well as activity system. The medical social work intends to meet the practical needs of aged chronic patients, providing them and their family with a professional human service. The end of this study is to find out the hardships of both the aged chronic patients and their family as well as their needs for the social welfare service, and to search out the way of comprehensive social work service. The summary of the analysis of the survey is as follows: 1. The needs of aged chronic patients are divided into those of the solution of the problems of falling ill, social welfare program and discharge. Those needs arc affected by the various factors of the types of hospitals, the patients' age, the kinds of insurance, and the supporting systems, etc. Accordingly, the assessment of the needs of the patients are asked to be done comprehensively in accordance with the kinds of diseases and social environments. 2. The importance of the family to the aged chronic patients is evident. The family plays a decisive role in the patients' hospitalization and discharge, the family being an important supporting system and making it necessary to take an approach to client system. The family has difficulty in getting connection of community resources, in adapting to social life after the patient's discharge, and in paying the treatment. The family suffers the secondary hardships more than the burden of the treatment expenses. 3. For this reason various interventions are needed to reduce the stress caused by supporting and nursing patients. Thus the social welfare service for the aged chronic patients and their family needs the following prepositions: 1. It is the characteristics of the aged chronic patients that they need continuous care and that the strengths of the patients and their family cannot be too much emphasized, and that comprehensive assessment based on the connection 'with the community and the mutual interchange 'with the environment, is much emphasized. 2. The family of the aged chronic patient is a resources system as well as a client one. 3. Another characteristic of the aged chronic patients is that with the resources connection in mind, it needs an active intervention of social workers in the community. With these prepositions considered, the development of practical social work service for the aged chronic patients is thought urgently needed.

  • The electric power network paralleled with wind turbine generator may have the negative impacts on the protection, operation, and management caused by the operation of wind turbine generator. Therefore, it is necessary to investigate the operating characteristic of wind turbine generator. This paper describes model of a squirrel-cage type wind turbine induction generator and the soft cut-in connection method for reducing the transient state on power network, and simulates various cases of wind turbine operations. The radial distribution network of IEEE 13-bus are modeled and tested by PSCAD/EMTDC.

Brake Characteristic Analysis of the Korean High-Speed Train (한국형 고속전철의 제동 특성 해석)

  • The brake system of a high-speed train has a crucial role for the safety of human mass transportation. However, it is hard to acquire design parameters of the brake system in the design step of the new high-speed train. In this paper, we build a HILS (Hardware In-the- Loop Simulation) system for the brake system of the Korea High-Speed Train (KHST) that is supposed to run up to 350 km/h, and analyze the characteristics of the brake system of the KHST (composed of 7 cars) via real-time simulations. In the HILS system that is built using a DSP board of dSPACE, the dynamics of the 7 car bodies and several bogies and characteristics of springs and dampers of connection devices between cars are considered separately. Simulation results show that the designed brake system of the KHST is valid and satisfies design specifications.

A Study on Fatigue Characteristics of Domestic Low-Relaxation PS Strands (국산 저이완 PS 강연선의 피로특성에 관한 연구)

  • Fatigue failure is a phenomenon such that structures under cyclic service load is failed by sudden brittle manner. Therefore, in order to obtain structures safety against the fatigue failure during their service lifes, fatigue characteristics should be considered for design and analysis of the structures. As stress range of prestressed (PS) tendons, which governs fatigus characteristic of prestressed concrete (PSC) structures, increases with increased use of partial prestressig, it is more necessary to consider fatigue characteristics of PS tendons. In this paper, direct-tension fatigue experiments with special specimen-setting devices are carried out to obtain fatigue characteristics of domestic low relaxation PS strands having different diameters and PS strands connected with coupler. Then, allowable stress range of fatigue for PSC beams using low relaxation strands are presented for the fatigue examination of prestressed concrete beams applied cyclic loading.

  • A study of the photovoltaic generation system tend to concentrate its importance on specific filed such as analysis of photovoltaic characteristic, improvement of a inverter, and controller. In this paper, a practical facility of the photovoltaic generation system and connection of its organization are presnted with process of 1.2kW prototype. From the results of monitoring system which is for reliability and analysis of the photovoltaic generation system, stability of the system was confirmed.

  • Important material properties of UCAS rod can divide by tension characteristic of base rod part and both end part of U type anchor. Tensile properties of base rod part need as concrete reinforcement material as an alternative material of reinforcing rod, and tensile properties of U type anchor is used at connection with UCAS rod. This treatise carry out tensile test of UCAS rod, examine necessary properties such as strength, elastic modulus and maximum capacity of UCAS rod as reinforcement material of concrete. Also, to examine material properties carry out tensile test of U type anchor.

  • The on-grid distributed power system operated antiislanding due to the momently voltage sag of the power system, fault and etc. According to the 'Dispersed Generations in Distribution Systems Connection Technology Standard', the utilizable time ratio of PCS is low because of being put into in the steady state of the power system after 5 minutes. In this paper, the output characteristic is optimized with the hybrid system consisting of the wind system and PV system. And energy of hybrid system is supplied to the power system. Also, DVR function was applied to PCS to compensate the voltage sag frequently happening for a power system. The control performance of the proposed hybrid PCS is analyzed and simulated using PSIM to validate the system performace.

  • Generally, photovoltaic system is composed a number of solar cells array. so, virtual implementation module for solar cell array is needed Parallel connection each module for extract the power. A desirable characteristic of a parallel supply system is that individual converters share the load current equally and stably. The current sharing(CS) can be implemented using two approaches. The first one, known as a droop method, relies on the high output impedance of each converter. and The second approach, known as active current-sharing techniques. In this paper, analyze for better control logic of parallel connecting virtual implements of solar cell at using droop method.

  • As the increasing of non-linear load, we have a growing interest in power quality. Power quality has come to the voltage quality. Voltage harmonics consist in at the PCC by the non-linear load. Capacitor is generally used for the power compensation and as the passive filter by the serial connection with reactor. Capacitor has low impedance as the frequency increases, so easily fall down by the harmonic component of non-linear load. Small voltage of low-order acts on quite a few at the capacitor by the current increase. In this paper, we measured the magnitude and angle of voltage at the PCC and calculated under the same condition. we checked out that lower voltage of higher order produces current magnification.

  • In general, the voltage stability of induction generator is lower than synchronous generator. However, induction generator has many advantages rather than a synchronous generator in terms of price and maintenance. So Induction generator is used little by little in small hydroelectric power station rather than 1000kW recently. Squirrel cage induction generator generates a high inrush current at the grid-connection. This high inrush current causes a voltage drop on the grid. In order to increase the penetration of the induction generator, it is necessary to present a method of reducing inrush current. In this study, we suggested that it is possible to present a reactor startup method, by applying the parameter to reduce the voltage drop.
