송전선 혼잡시의 복합전략 내쉬균형에 대한 선도-추종자 모형 해석 (Leader-Follower Model Analysis on Mixed Strategy Nash Equilibrium of Electricity Market with Transmission Congestion)

  • Nash Equilibrium (NE) is as useful tool for investigating a participant's strategic generation quantity in a competitive electricity market. Cournot model may give a mixed strategy NE instead of a pure strategy when transmission constraints are considered. A mixed strategy is difficult to compute, complicated to understand conceptually, and hard to implement in an electricity market practically. This paper presents that a mixed strategy does not appear in Stackelberg leader-follower model even under a transmission congestion. A solution method is proposed for the leader-follower model under a nondifferentiable space of a strategy variable. Based on the pure strategy NE with a transmission line congested, the merit of leader-follower model is shown from a social welfare point of view.

  • Whether over taking or parallel sailing of two or more vessels is allowable on marine traffic route or not, the traffic congestion due to traffic volume has to be evaluated separately. In Gaduk-sudo, overtaking or parallel sailing is so allowable that the Bumper Model is introduced to evaluated the traffic congestion. But the channels within the habour limit such as the route of Ulsan New Port are so prohibited overtaking or parallel sailing that the traffic congestion has to be evaluated by using theoretical traffic capacity or by traffic simulation. In this paper, the congestion of Southern New Port and Mipo Port was evaluated the congestion by using theoretical traffic capacity and the other area of Ulsan Port by traffic simulation. The incresed traffic volumes on Ulsan Channels according to Ulsan New Port Development in 2011 were evaluated to have no effect with the traffic congestion.

배선밀집도 드리븐 배치 (Routing Congestion Driven Placement)

  • 본 논문에서는 주어진 상세배치의 배선밀집도를 예측하고, 배선밀집도가 높은 지역을 효과적으로 해결하는 새로운 알고리즘을 소개한다. 제안된 기법의 특징은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 특정지역을 관통하는 넷이 많아 그 지역의 배선밀집도가 높을 경우 관통하는 넷에 연결된 셀들을 효과적으로 찾아내어 그들의 위치를 조정함으로써 배선밀집도를 완화시킨다. 둘째, 리플이동 (ripple movement) 기법을 이용하여 셀들을 이동함으로써 배선길이를 희생시키지 않으면서 배선밀집도를 완화시킨다. 셋째, 셀의 이동에 따른 배선밀집도의 변화 및 배선길이의 변화를 효과적으로 추적할 수 있도록 증분 자료구조 (incremental data structure)를 사용하였기 때문에 실시간으로 변화되는 상황에 적합한 셀 선택이 이루어지며, 실행시간도 매우 빠른 장점이 있다. 마지막으로, 본 논문에서는 MST 넷 모델을 사용하여 배선밀집도를 예측하지만 제안한 기법은 특정 넷 모델에 상관없이 적용할 수 있다. 특히 실제 라우터로부터 배선정보를 얻을 수 있다면, 배선밀집도는 더욱 효과적으로 해결될 수 있다. 제안된 기법을 이용한 실험결과는 배선길이를 희생하지 않으면서 배선밀집도를 매우 효과적으로 개선할 수 있음을 보여준다.

네트워크 모델을 이용한 전송제어 프로토콜(TCP) (TCP Congestion and Flow Control Algorithm using a Network Model)

  • 최근에 제안된 TCP Vegas는 네트워크의 상황을 예측하고, 상황에 맞는 전송율의 변화를 통해 흐름제어와 혼잡제어를 함으로써 기존의 TCP Reno에 비해 많은 성능향상을 이루었다. 그러나 TCP Vegas는 네트워크에 대한 모델이 없기 때문에 네트워크의 가용대역폭을 충분히 활용할 정확한 전송율을 계산하지 못하고, 제한된 윈도우의 변화만을 적용시킴으로 인해, 급변하는 가용 대역폭의 변화에 적응을 하지 못하고 손실이 발생할 가능성이 여전히 존재한다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 단점을 극복하고자 TCP의 단대단 연결을 큐잉 시스템으로 모델링하여 적절한 전송율을 결정함으로써, 안정되고 빠르게 가용 대역폭에 수렴하는 알고리듬을 제안한다. 시뮬레이션을 통한 TCP Vegas와의 성능 비교 결과는 제안된 알고리듬이 가용 대역폭이 급변하는 네트워크 환경에서 TCP Vegas 보다 안정적이고 빠르게 반응하기 때문에 외부 트래픽의 변화에 더 잘 적응하고 처리율을 향상시키는 결과를 보여준다.

  • The market participants make plans of bidding and transaction strategies to maximize their own profits in competitive electricity market. Also, It is concerned with transmission congestion in power market. Two methods are generally used for congestion management;nodal pricing and uplift. The participants will have different strategies for their profits in the two methods. This paper analyzes their equilibrium strategies by using the supply function model and congestion methods.

  • Due to limited spectrum resources and differences in link loads, network congestion is one of the key issues in cognitive radio wireless mesh networks. In this letter, a congestion avoidance model with power control, channel allocation, and routing under the signal-to-interference-and-noise ratio is presented. As a contribution, a nested optimization scheme combined with a genetic algorithm and linear programming solver is proposed. Extensive simulation results are presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of our algorithm.

  • The object of this research is to develop a simulation system for earthmoving operations in consideration of the impact of congestion in-between equipment and existing traffic flow around the site. The congestion in-between equipment and traffic flow affect work productivity. The conventional discrete event simulation, however, has limitations in simulating the flow of construction equipment. To consider the impact of congestion in-between equipment and existing traffic flow, in this paper, a multi-agent based simulation model that can realize characteristics of truck behavior more accurately to consider the impact of congestion was proposed. In this simulation model, multiple agents can identify environmental changes and adapt themselves to the new environment. This modeling approach is a better choice for this problem since it describes behavioral characteristics of each agent by sensing changes in dynamic surroundings. This study suggests a detailed system design of the multi-agent based simulation system.

혼잡통행료 징수 정책의 동태성과 효과분석 (A study for the Dynamics of the Congestion Toll Policy and It′s Effectiveness)

  • Traffic congestion stems from the widespread desires of people to purse certain goals that inevitably overload existing roads every day. he a transportation policy, congestion toll system has been implemented in Seoul, since 1996. The growing concerns on whether the system would achieve sustained results in the future motivated us to investigate the effectiveness of this policy. Developing and running the congestion toll simulation model, we find that this policy is not an effective policy in the long m. The paper indicates the power of system dynamics approach as a tool for evaluating complex policy like a congestion toll, and suggest that city transportation policy maker should approach the problem with systems thinking and analyze the effectiveness of policy on the basis of understanding the dynamic relationships among subsystems.

A Fuzzy Traffic Controller Considering the spillback on the Multiple Crossroads

  • In this paper, we propose a fuzzy traffic controller of Sugeno`s fuzzy model so as to model the nonlinear characteristics of controlling the traffic light. It use a degree of the traffic congestion of the preceding roads as an input so that it can cope with traffic congestion appropriately, which causes the loss of fuel and our discomfort. First, in order to construct fuzzy traffic controller of Sugeno`s fuzzy model, we model the control process of the traffic light by using Mamdani`s fuzzy model, which has the uniform membership functions of the same size and shape. Second, we make Mamdani`s fuzzy model with the non-uniform membership functions so that it can exactly reflect the knowledge of experts and operators. Last, we construct the fuzzy traffic controller of Sugeno`s fuzzy model by learning from the input/output data, which is retrieved from Mamdani`s fuzzy model with the non-uniform membership functions. We compared and analyzed the fixed traffic light controller, the fuzzy traffic controller of Mamdani`s fuzzy model and the fuzzy traffic controller of Sugeno`s fuzzy model by using the delay time and the proportion of the entered vehicles to the occurred vehicles. As a result of comparison, the fuzzy traffic controller of Sugeno`s fuzzy model showed the best performance.

An Efficient and Stable Congestion Control Scheme with Neighbor Feedback for Cluster Wireless Sensor Networks

  • Congestion control in Cluster Wireless Sensor Networks (CWSNs) has drawn widespread attention and research interests. The increasing number of nodes and scale of networks cause more complex congestion control and management. Active Queue Management (AQM) is one of the major congestion control approaches in CWSNs, and Random Early Detection (RED) algorithm is commonly used to achieve high utilization in AQM. However, traditional RED algorithm depends exclusively on source-side control, which is insufficient to maintain efficiency and state stability. Specifically, when congestion occurs, deficiency of feedback will hinder the instability of the system. In this paper, we adopt the Additive-Increase Multiplicative-Decrease (AIMD) adjustment scheme and propose an improved RED algorithm by using neighbor feedback and scheduling scheme. The congestion control model is presented, which is a linear system with a non-linear feedback, and modeled by Lur'e type system. In the context of delayed Lur'e dynamical network, we adopt the concept of cluster synchronization and show that the congestion controlled system is able to achieve cluster synchronization. Sufficient conditions are derived by applying Lyapunov-Krasovskii functionals. Numerical examples are investigated to validate the effectiveness of the congestion control algorithm and the stability of the network.
