적층 수에 따른 YBCO 선재의 전송전류 손실 특성 (Characteristic of Transport Current Losses of Multi-Stacked YBCO Coated Conductors)

  • Multi-stacked HTS tapes are needed to conduct large current in the power application of superconducting machine. This paper deals with the transport current loss of multi-stacked YBCO coated conductor. YBCO coated conductor that was used in this experiment has two Cu layers above and below of YBCO layer for stabilization. Transport losses of four different stacks, single, 2 stack, 3 stack and 4 stack, were measured. Measured results were compared analytic equation suggested by Norris.

Dual CRLH Based Band Stop Filter Using Conductor-Backed Defected Coplanar Waveguide

  • A band stop filter is proposed with cascading unit cells that are based on a dual composite right/left-handed (D-CRLH) conductorbacked coplanar waveguide. The parameters of the unit cell have been analyzed to confirm the behavior of each component for the equivalent circuit of the cell. We simulated the dispersion characteristics and energy distribution and have determined that the unit cell has a D-CRLH property. The band stop filter was implemented by symmetrically cascading two of the proposed unit cells. The experimental results for the band stop filter revealed a band rejection performance of 32 dB and a return loss of 0.35 dB in the stopband frequency range from 869MHz to 954MHz. Finally, we show that there is a good agreement in the experimental results and those obtained through the simulations.

  • High temperature superconducting(HTS) power cable system consists of HTS cable, termination and cryogenic system. And the HTS cable consists of the former, HTS phase conductor, electric insulation, HTS shield and cryostat. Taking the advantage of HTS shield, the cold dielectric has been adopted. The phase conductor and the shield have been designed to minimize the AC loss below 1W/m/phase. The former has been designed to transport the fault current of 25kA, at fault condition. This paper describes the design process of 22.9kV HTS cable considering AC losses at normal state and the stability at fault condition.

  • AC loss is an important issue in the design of high-T$_{c}$ superconducting Power cables. The cables consists of a number of Bi-2223 tapes wound on a former. In such cables tapes have different critical current characteristics intrinsically. And they are electrically connected to each other and current leads by soldering. These make loss measurements considerably complex, especially for short samples of laboratory size. Special cautions are required in the positioning of voltage leads for measuring the true loss voltage. In this work the at losses in a single layer model cable have been experimentally investigated for different contacts and arrangements of voltage leads. The results show that the losses are not dependent on both arrangements and contact positions of the voltage leads. This implies that loss flux is only in a cylindrical conductor section. The measured losses also agree well with those based on a monoblock model and are independent of frequencies. This means that the measured AC loss of the model cable is purely hysteretic in nature.e.

KSTAR PF 초전도자석의 크기 및 재료에 따른 결합손실 특성 분석 (Analysis of Coupling Loss with Size and Material in the KSTAR PF Superconducting Coils)

  • It is important to predict AC loss in $Nb_3Sn$ and NbTi cable-in-conduit-conductor (CICC) reliably for the design and operation of large superconducting coils. The hysteresis loss in the superconducting filaments and coupling loss within strands and among strands in a cable or composite are dominant ac losses in superconducting magnets. The coupling loss in a superconductor can be characterized by identifying the coupling constant time $n{\tau}$. To reduce the coupling loss, all the strands (superconductor and Cu) in KSTAR (Korea Superconducting Tokamak Advance Research) are chromium plated with thickness of $l{\pm}0.5{\mu}m$. The ac losses of PF1, PF5 and PF6 coils has been measured by calorimetric method while applying trapezoidal current pulses with various ramp rate from 0.5 kA/s to 2 kA/s. The coupling time constants for $Nb_3Sn$ coils are $25{\sim}55$ ms and the values are not co-related with the coil size, the time constants for NbTi coil is 30 ms.

  • 가공송전선 도체는 장기간 동안 다양한 환경조건에 노출되어 있으므로 공기오염원이나 열적 이력에 의하여 서서히 열화된다. 노화도체는 전력시스템의 신뢰성과 공중 안전을 감소시키다. 따라서 운용 중인 노화도체의 진단은 적정한 용량으로 전력을 안전하게 공급하거나 노화도체의 교체 또는 새로운 선로의 건설이라는 관점에서 매우 중요한 관심사가 되었다. 본 논문에서는 이도를 측정하여 노화도체의 교체수명을 진단하고 잔존수명을 추정하는 새로운 방법을 제안한다. 도체온도, 도체전류 및 장력 사이의 관계를 해석함으로써 이도가 노화도체의 기계적 인장손실을 정확하게 나타낼 수 있다는 것을 확인하였다. 몇 가지 수치해석결과를 토대로 제안된 방법이 가공도체의 교체수명이나 잔존수명을 진단하는데 효과적으로 사용될 수 있음을 보였다.

  • Current rating of a power cable can be calculated by the maximum allowable temperature in an insulating material considering the heat transfer from cable conductor. Therefore, it is very important to calculate the current rating using electrical equivalent circuit by calculated cable thermal circuit parameters but, it has not been fully investigated yet. In this paper, in order to determine the current rating of power cable, conventional calculation method has been reviewed considering the conductor resistance, loss factor of sheath, dielectric losses and thermal resistances based on the maximum allowable temperature of 345 kV $2500mm^2$ XLPE cable. To confirm the calculation result of the current rating, the conductor temperature should be examined whether it reaches the maximum allowable temperature by the thermal equivalent circuit of the cable. Then, utilizing EMTP (Electro-Magnetic Transient Program) which is a conventional program for electrical circuit, the thermal equivalent circuit was transformed to an electric equivalent circuit using an analogous relationship between thermal circuit and electrical circuit, and temperature condition including cable conductor, sheath, cable jacket could be calculated by the current rating of 345 kV $2500mm^2$ XLPE cable.

손실층 Sub-mount를 갖는 CPW MMIC용 실리콘 MEMS 패키지 (Si-MEMS package Having a Lossy Sub-mount for CPW MMICs)

  • 초고주파 및 밀리미터파 통신 시스템의 집적회로 및 실장 기술로서 CPW기반의 전송선로를 갖는 MMIC 개발이 크게 증가하고 있으나, 실장시 패키지에서 발생되는 기생공진 현상으로 인해 그 성능이 크게 저하될 수 있다. 이런 기생 공진 현상을 억제시키기 위하여 도핑된 lossy 실리콘 웨이퍼를 칩 캐리어로 사용하고, HRS wafer를 사용하여 표면 및 벌크 MEMS 공정이 가능한 실리콘 MEMS 패키지가 해석적으로 제안되었다. 제안된 구조를 제작하여 세 가지의 칩 캐리어(conductor-back metal, 15 Ω$.$cm lossy Si, 15 ㏀$.$cm HRS)위에서 측정하여 실리콘 MEMS 패키지의 특성을 확인하였다. 제안된 실리콘 MEMS 패키지는 15 Ω$.$cm lossy 실리콘 칩 캐리어를 사용하여, 기생 공진 현상을 효과적으로 억제시킬 수 있었다. 전체 패키지에서 중앙의 GaAs CPW 패턴을 de-embedding하여 순수한 CPW MMIC 용의 실리콘 MEMS 패키지는 40 ㎓에서 삽입 손실은 - 2.0 ㏈이며, 전력 손실은 - 7.5 ㏈의 결과를 얻었다.

  • The five-year national project in Japan for R&D of coated conductors and applications, named as the Materials and Power Applications of Coated Conductors (M-PACC) project, was finished at the end of FY2013. The project consists of four sub-themes as cable, transformer, SMES and coated conductors. In the theme of coated conductors, the fabrication process had been developed to satisfy the requirements from the applications such as in-field $I_c$ performance, low AC loss in the long tapes etc. Through the project, the remarkable progress was achieved as follows; a high in-field minimum $I_c$ value over 54A/cm-width under 3T at 77K was realized in a 200m long EuBCO tape with artificial pinning centers of $BaHfO_3$ by the pulsed laser deposition (PLD) technique on the IBAD template. On the other hand, the AC loss reduction was confirmed in the tapes fabricated by both PLD and the metal organic deposition (MOD) techniques by scribing 100m tapes into 10-filamments. Additionally, the mechanism of the delamination phenomenon was systematically investigated and the strength was improved by eliminating the origins of the weak points in the films. Through the development, all targeted goals were accomplished and the several results were appreciated as a world champion data.
