한글판 낙상 위험 주거환경 평가 (Home Falls and Accidents Screening Tool; HOME FAST)의 내용이해도 및 신뢰도 연구 (Validity and Reliability of Korean Version of Home Falls and Accidents Screening Tool (HOME FAST))

  • 목적 : 본 연구의 목적은 낙상 위험 주거환경 평가인 HOME FAST의 국내사용을 위해 체계적인 절차를 통해 한국어로 번안하여 내용이해도 및 신뢰도를 검증하고자 하였다. 연구 방법 : 한글로 번역된 HOME FAST의 내용이해도를 알아보기 위해 작업치료사 총 21명에게 한글번역본의 이해도 평가하게 하였다. 이후 한글번역본을 역번역 하여 원문과 비교하고 문장구조 및 의미 유사성을 평가하였다. 아울러 신뢰도 검증을 위해 지역사회에 거주하고 있는 낙상 고위험군 노인 75명을 대상으로 평가를 진행하고 내적 일치도를 검증하였다. 그중 9명의 대상자의 경우 2명의 작업치료사가 방문하여 각각 평가한 뒤 검사자 간 신뢰도를 검증하였다. 결과 : 작업치료사를 대상으로 한 내용이해도 검증 결과에서 11개 문장이 이해도가 떨어지는 것으로 나타났다. 이해도 검증 결과의 의견을 바탕으로 검증위원회를 통해 구문을 수정하고 한글번역본을 완성하였다. 한글판을 역번역하여 유사성 검증을 한 결과 문장구조에서는 3문항이 유사하지 않음으로 평가되었고, 의미적 측면에서는 총 6문항이 유사하지 않음으로 평가되었다. 최종적으로 반복적 역번역 과정을 통해 한글판 HOME FAST의 내용 타당도를 확보하였다. 한글번역본의 내적일치도는 .62(p<.01)로 나타났고, 검사자 간의 신뢰도는 .97 (p<.01)로 매우 높은 것으로 나타났다. 결론 : 본 연구는 체계적 번역-역번역 과정을 통해 HOME FAST를 한국어로 번역하였다. 아울러 한글판의 내용이해도를 검증하였고, 내적일치도 및 검사자간 신뢰도 검증을 통해 신뢰도를 입증하였다.

Position of Hungarian Merino among other Merinos, within-breed genetic similarity network and markers associated with daily weight gain

  • Objective: In this study, we aimed to position the Hungarian Merino among other Merinoderived sheep breeds, explore the characteristics of our sampled animals' genetic similarity network within the breed, and highlight single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) associated with daily weight-gain. Methods: Hungarian Merino (n = 138) was genotyped on Ovine SNP50 Bead Chip (Illumina, San Diego, CA, USA) and positioned among 30 Merino and Merino-derived breeds (n = 555). Population characteristics were obtained via PLINK, SVS, Admixture, and Treemix software, within-breed network was analysed with python networkx 2.3 library. Daily weight gain of Hungarian Merino was standardised to 60 days and was collected from the database of the Association of Hungarian Sheep and Goat Breeders. For the identification of loci associated with daily weight gain, a multi-locus mixed-model was used. Results: Supporting the breed's written history, the closest breeds to Hungarian Merino were Estremadura and Rambouillet (pairwise FST values are 0.035 and 0.036, respectively). Among Hungarian Merino, a highly centralised connectedness has been revealed by network analysis of pairwise values of identity-by-state, where the animal in the central node had a betweenness centrality value equal to 0.936. Probing of daily weight gain against the SNP data of Hungarian Merinos revealed five associated loci. Two of them, OAR8_17854216.1 and s42441.1 on chromosome 8 and 9 (-log10P>22, false discovery rate<5.5e-20) and one locus on chromosome 20, s28948.1 (-log10P = 13.46, false discovery rate = 4.1e-11), were close to the markers reported in other breeds concerning daily weight gain, six-month weight, and post-weaning gain. Conclusion: The position of Hungarian Merino among other Merino breeds has been determined. We have described the similarity network of the individuals to be applied in breeding practices and highlighted several markers useful for elevating the daily weight gain of Hungarian Merino.

Automated Lung Segmentation on Chest Computed Tomography Images with Extensive Lung Parenchymal Abnormalities Using a Deep Neural Network

  • Objective: We aimed to develop a deep neural network for segmenting lung parenchyma with extensive pathological conditions on non-contrast chest computed tomography (CT) images. Materials and Methods: Thin-section non-contrast chest CT images from 203 patients (115 males, 88 females; age range, 31-89 years) between January 2017 and May 2017 were included in the study, of which 150 cases had extensive lung parenchymal disease involving more than 40% of the parenchymal area. Parenchymal diseases included interstitial lung disease (ILD), emphysema, nontuberculous mycobacterial lung disease, tuberculous destroyed lung, pneumonia, lung cancer, and other diseases. Five experienced radiologists manually drew the margin of the lungs, slice by slice, on CT images. The dataset used to develop the network consisted of 157 cases for training, 20 cases for development, and 26 cases for internal validation. Two-dimensional (2D) U-Net and three-dimensional (3D) U-Net models were used for the task. The network was trained to segment the lung parenchyma as a whole and segment the right and left lung separately. The University Hospitals of Geneva ILD dataset, which contained high-resolution CT images of ILD, was used for external validation. Results: The Dice similarity coefficients for internal validation were 99.6 ± 0.3% (2D U-Net whole lung model), 99.5 ± 0.3% (2D U-Net separate lung model), 99.4 ± 0.5% (3D U-Net whole lung model), and 99.4 ± 0.5% (3D U-Net separate lung model). The Dice similarity coefficients for the external validation dataset were 98.4 ± 1.0% (2D U-Net whole lung model) and 98.4 ± 1.0% (2D U-Net separate lung model). In 31 cases, where the extent of ILD was larger than 75% of the lung parenchymal area, the Dice similarity coefficients were 97.9 ± 1.3% (2D U-Net whole lung model) and 98.0 ± 1.2% (2D U-Net separate lung model). Conclusion: The deep neural network achieved excellent performance in automatically delineating the boundaries of lung parenchyma with extensive pathological conditions on non-contrast chest CT images.

송도 갯벌과 영일만 조하대 저서동물의 군집조사를 위한 적정 채집면적의 결정 (Determination of the Optimum Sampling Area for the Benthic Community Study of the Songdo Tidal Flat and Youngil Bay Subtidal Sediment)

  • 연성저질의 갯벌과 조하대에 서식하는 저서동물의 정점당 채집면적을 제안하고자 인천 송도 1 개 정점에서 0.02 $m^2$ 박스코아를 이용하여 총 250 회 (5 $m^2$), 영일만 조하대 1 개 정점(수심 20 m)에서 0.1 $m^2$ 반빈 채니기를 이용하여 총 50 회(5 $m^2$)의 표품을 반복 채집하였다. 본 연구에서 제안한 채집면적은 모집단으로 설정한 5 $m^2$에 대해서 출현종수와 생태지수(다양성, 종풍부도, 균등도, 우점도지수), 종조성의 유사성(유사도지수 기준)이 75%로 나타나는 수준의 면적으로 설정하였다. 송도갯벌 5 $m^2$에 서식하는 저서동물은 56 종, 영일만 조하대 5 $m^2$에서는 총 60 종이었다. 채집면적 (A; $m^2$)에 따른 저서동물의 누적 출현종수($N_{sp}$)는 송도갯벌에서 $N_{sp}=37.379A^{0.257}(r^2=0.99)$, 영일만 조하대에서 $N_{sp}=40.895A^{0.257}(r^2=0.98)$의 관계식으로 나타낼 수 있었다. 모집단으로 설정한 5 $m^2$에 대해서 출현총수의 75%가 출현하는 채집면적은 송도갯벌과 영일만 조하대에서 각각 1.6 $m^2$ (0.02 $m^2$ 박스코아, 80 회), 1.5 $m^2$ (0.1 $m^2$ 반빈채니기, 15 회)이었다. 0.02 $m^2$과 0.1 $m^2$의 단위표품을 계속 더하여 면적을 증가시키면서 새롭게 증가된 각 면적에서의 생태지수와 유사도를 다시 계산하였다. 그 결과, 5 $m^2$의 생태지수에 75% 근접하는 면적은 송도갯벌에서 < 0.5 $m^2$~1.5 $m^2$, 영일만 조하대에서 < 0.5 $m^2$~1.2 $m^2$이였다. 종조성의 유사성을 75%로 반영하는 면적은 0.3 $m^2$(송도), 0.6 $m^2$(영일만)이었다. 군집분석을 위해 흔히 사용하는 이들 지수의 채집면적에 따른 변화를 추적하여 유사성 75%에 기준을 둔 채집면적으로 송도갯벌에서는 1.5 $m^2$(0.02 $m^2$ 박스 코아, 75 회), 영일만 조하대에서는 1.2 $m^2$(0.1 $m^2$ 반빈 채니기, 12 회)을 제안할 수 있었다. 이들 채집면적은 송도갯벌에서 상위 우점 7 종(개체수 68%를 차지함)의 서식밀도를, 영일만 조하대에서 상위 우점 6 종(개체수 90% 차지함)의 서식밀도를 정밀도 0.2 이내에서 추정할 수 있게 한다.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the main characteristics of the environmentalism expressed in contemporary fashion. i.e. 'eco-look'. They can be categorized into naturalism symbolism primitiveness and concern about recycling. First naturalistic tendency can be found in through the method of some contemporary eco-looks which are using natural colors harmonisation of the colors in similarity and in controst and expressing in a realistic manner some natural entities or use some ornaments representing them. Such trends easily let people to feel the clothes unified with the nature and human beings. Secondly some contemporary eco-looks express environmentalistic ideas for examples the idea for protection of the nature or the idea against pollution of the earth and destruction of nature in a symbolistic way. Thirdly primitiveness is one of the most characteristic feature in contemporary eco-looks. 중첩 불일치 평가기준으로서의 계수공제영상의 계조도 표준편차 연구 (The Study of Standard Deviation of Gray Scale Histogram in Digital Subtraction Radiography as a Test Parameter for SuperimpoSition Error)

  • Purpose : The aim of this study was to assess the validity of standard deviation of gray scale histogram in digital subtraction radiography as a test parameter for superimposition error. Materials and Methods : Twenty periapical radiographs were used as baseline images and they were copied to exclude the influence of exposure geomety and contrast differences. These subsequent images were linearly displaced by 0.1-0.5 mm in the x-. y- and xy-directions, rotated by 0.5-3° and distorted by angular contraction of 1-5° in x- and y-axis before subtraction. The standard deviations of gray levels in the subtraction images were obtained and paired t-tests were performed. Pearson correlation coefficients(r) were calculated between the standard deviations and the superimposition errors. Results : Linear displacement showed high correlation coefficients of 0.997, 0.997 and 0.995 in x-. y- and xy-axis respectively. Statistically significant different standard deviation existed among all linearly displaced groups(p<0.05). Distortion showed relatively low correlation coefficients of 0.982 and 0.959 in x- and y-axis. The standard deviations between the two distortion groups were statistically significant different(p<0.05). Conclusion : Standard deviation of gray level distribution in digital subtraction images is satisfactory but not perfect similarity measure to assess the superimposition errors.

Categorizing accident sequences in the external radiotherapy for risk analysis

  • Purpose: This study identifies accident sequences from the past accidents in order to help the risk analysis application to the external radiotherapy. Materials and Methods: This study reviews 59 accidental cases in two retrospective safety analyses that have collected the incidents in the external radiotherapy extensively. Two accident analysis reports that accumulated past incidents are investigated to identify accident sequences including initiating events, failure of safety measures, and consequences. This study classifies the accidents by the treatments stages and sources of errors for initiating events, types of failures in the safety measures, and types of undesirable consequences and the number of affected patients. Then, the accident sequences are grouped into several categories on the basis of similarity of progression. As a result, these cases can be categorized into 14 groups of accident sequence. Results: The result indicates that risk analysis needs to pay attention to not only the planning stage, but also the calibration stage that is committed prior to the main treatment process. It also shows that human error is the largest contributor to initiating events as well as to the failure of safety measures. This study also illustrates an event tree analysis for an accident sequence initiated in the calibration. Conclusion: This study is expected to provide sights into the accident sequences for the prospective risk analysis through the review of experiences.

국가별 국가품질상 평가기준에 따른 테크노파크 경영실적 비교 연구 (Research on Technopark Management Performance Comparison Based on National Quality Awards Appraisal Standard by Countries)

  • Purpose: Most major countries have their own set of qualifications called national quality awards to measure the quality of companies and organizations. This study analyzes 3 different national quality awards and compare with the result from Korean quality awards conducted by Ministry of knowledge and Economy and Korea institute for advancement of technology. Methods: We tested 17 technoparks out of 18 technoparks in Korea and see how different the results can be depends on the value weights. We closely looked at each qualifications and tables of different countries' awards and compared with one used in Korea. Finally we proposed some suggestions to use not only domestic model but also international ones to be objective and add efficiency to organizations. Results: Depend on similarity of qualifications and weights, there were countries with different results and these caused score and ranking changes. Nevertheless, there was a comparison that did not make any changes on both score and ranking. Conclusion: We recognized the limitation that a standardized quality variation cannot be enough sources to test and analyze technoparks with different size and criteria. Integrating global standards and flow would be the first step to help grow technoparks and organizations placed in Korea in days to come.

Effects of steaming on saponin compositions and antiproliferative activity of Vietnamese ginseng

  • Background: Steaming of ginseng is known to change its chemical composition and biological activity. This study was carried out to investigate the effect of different steaming time-scales on chemical constituents and antiproliferative activity of Vietnamese ginseng (VG). Methods: VG was steamed at $105^{\circ}C$ for 2-20 h. Its saponin constituents and antiproliferative activity were studied. The similarity of chemical compositions between steamed samples at $105^{\circ}C$ and $120^{\circ}C$ were compared. Results: Most protopanaxadiol and protopanaxatriol ginsenosides lost the sugar moiety at the C-20 position with 10-14 h steaming at $105^{\circ}C$ and changed to their less polar analogues. However, ocotillol (OCT) ginsenosides were reasonably stable to steaming process. Antiproliferative activity against A549 lung cancer cells was increased on steaming and reached its plateau after 12 h steaming. Conclusion: Steaming VG at $105^{\circ}C$ showed a similar tendency of chemical degradation to the steaming VG at $120^{\circ}C$ except the slower rate of reaction. Its rate was about one-third of the steaming at $120^{\circ}C$.

The benefit of one cannot replace the other: seagrass and mangrove ecosystems at Santa Fe, Bantayan Island

  • Background: In the Philippines, the practice of planting mangroves over seagrass has been a practice done to promote coastline protection from damages done by storms. Despite the added protection to the coastline, the addition of an artificial ecosystem gradually inflicts damage to the ecosystem already established. In this study, seagrass communities that had no history of mangrove planting were compared with those that had mangrove planting. The percent substrate cover of seagrass in the sampling areas was determined, and the macroinvertebrates present in the sampling areas were also observed. The study was conducted based on reports of mangrove planting activity that disrupted seagrass functions on Santa Fe, Bantayan Island, Cebu. Transect-quadrat method sampling was done to assess the chosen sites. Results: Six species of seagrass was found on the site without mangrove planting which was barangay Ocoy (Cymodocea sp., Thalassia sp., Halodule sp., Enhalus sp., Halophila sp., and Syringodium sp.) and had a higher percent cover, while only four were found on the site with mangrove planting (barangay Marikaban). It was also found that barangay Marikaban had a lesser Shannon-Wiener and Simpson's index compared to barangay Ocoy. Jaccard's index of similarity between the two sites was low. Conclusion: With the results of the assessment, we recommend proper monitoring of future mangrove planting activities and that these activities should not disrupt another ecosystem as all ecosystems are important.
