  • Work is a bibliographic entity serving a key role for the collocation function of catalog. This study analyzed the concept of work, provided a new device to complement conventional FRBR work. The 'prototype' was suggested to enhance the collocation function of catalog, the highest level in FRBR. This study explained the definition, attributes of prototype, and relationships between prototype and work within FRBR model.

  • Precision farming has been known as an environment friendly farming technology. This study was conducted to develop a variable-rate granule fertilizer applicator as an attempt for introducing the precision farming technologies to rice cultivation in Korea. In this paper, concept design process and manufacturing of prototype variable rate granule applicator was reported. For concept design, some design guide lines were selected. Based on the design guide line and some engineering knowledge, concept design was conducted. The designed prototype granule applicator was mounted at the rear of riding type cultivator for paddy field and had a 10m wide boom structure with pneumatic conveying and application system as well as 1GPS receiver, 1 granule hopper, 12 blow heads, 2 metering devices and 1 controller. The fertilizer applicator had 942 ka of weight, 740m of ground clearance and 1,117mm of center of gravity from the ground. The applicator was designed to be able to $34{\sim}428kg/ha$ of granule at $0.2{\sim}0.8m/s$ of fertilizer working speed.

  • Pantograph of high speed rolling stock is one of the key components that transfer of associated technologies was blocked fundamentally from advanced nations. In this study, main technologies related to development of prototype pantograph installed on prototype test train developed according to the project "Development of high speed railway technology" are presented. Status of current korean technologies is explained by presenting developed technologies and applications during the past 6 years from concept design to test and evaluation.

A Study on the Meaning and the Factors of Formation of the Prototypal Landscape (원형경관(原型景觀)의 개념 정립 및 형성요인 연구)

  • This study is aimed at the necessity application in 'Prototype' general concept on discovering cultural identity landscape of our national characteristics landscape research. Accordingly, It is considered landscape, fundamental concept, the prototypal landscape concept from previously researches that have been used. At the same time, the concept of prototypal landscape has been established by commenting a point of view which is defining previous researches that controverted prototypal landscape, then establish concept of prototypal landscape and derive attribute by comparing and considering similar terminology of prototypal landscape. Previously, research prototypal landscape in depth by applying defined concept of prototypal landscape and considering inherence ideological and environmental background prototypal figure and structure. Formation pattern of the prototypal landscape is classified in both philosophical formative primary factor from philosophy, religion and environmental formative factor of human that accumulated cultural life from a region and life. Examples of forming the prototypal landscape by philosophical formative factor are classified as 'Feng-Shui(the theory of divination based on topography)', 'Yin-Yang theory', 'Confucian idea theory' 'Philosophical Taoism', 'Buddhism theory' and 'Nature theory' then environmental formative factor are interpreted by 'Taekliji(determining of advantageous land)', 'Imwon(forest) economical geography', 'land use', 'topography' and 'terrain' as examples. This study is anticipating a new point of view and an establishment of reliable preservation to our characteristic of the prototypal landscape by considering concept of prototypal landscape and formative factor as studying limits of prototypal landscape and researching concentrated origination of the prototype.

Development of a Moldboard Plow to Invert Furrow Slice at the Same Position (토양의 제자리 반전을 위한 몰드보드 플라우의 개발)

  • On the basis of design theory of soil inversion, two types of moldboard plow with secondary soil mover was designed and constructed to invert furrow slice at same position with furrow bottom. A series of soil bin experiment was carried to investigate the performance of prototypes. First prototype of new concept plow showed two kinds of problems during the preliminary experiment. For the plowing depth of 6cut the prototype did not invert the furrow slice, instead it just cut furrow bottom and the furrow slice returned to the original position. For the plowing depth of 8cm, there was soil clogging problem at the rear part of plow. From the above results it was concluded that the first prototype can not be used for the inversion of furrow slice at same position with furrow bottom. Second prototype could invert furrow slice at the same position with furrow bottom, but the performance was affected by soil moisture content soil hardness and plowing speed very much. For the higher soil moisture content, for the higher soil hardness and higher plowing speed, the prototype showed higher soil inversion performance. For the second prototype the inversion ratio was almost 100%, inversion angle was in the range of 90 to 100 degree and side displacement was less than 4 cm. But the furrow slice was not continuous, it was cut in the length of 30 to 40 cm. The reason why the furrow slice was cut in that length is blamed for the design of moldboard surface. The specific draft of prototype was in the range of 37.24 kN/㎡ to 42.14 kN/㎡ this value is a little higher than that of the conventional plow, or from 30.38 kN/㎡ to 33.32 kN/㎡. But the difference was not so big. The inversion performance of the second prototype for the field experiment was much better than that of soil bin experiment due to the better soil and operational conditions. Sticky and compacted soil conditions, and higher plowing speed was suitable for the plowing operation of the second prototype

  • Decreasing products lifecycles and increasing consumers desires for quality and design make the automotive industries try to reduce time for developing new designs. In order to reduce developing time, I have designed head lamps, which are really important to have an effect on brand identities and images, using layers concept that is one of the international automotive design trends by alias and photoshop, and produced prototype by RP. To assemble the produced prototype to the body and manufacture the frame to exterior modelling efficiently, I have studied on joining dissimilar materials of aluminum alloy that can make the prototype lighter and stainless steel, which is good for corrosion resistance by using laser beam. These materials were welded for finding the optimum joining condition and evaluating the soundness of joining zone. The joining was performed under the condition of laser power 500, 550, 575, 600W and 11~14Hz. In this study, the suitable joining condition between aluminum alloy (Al 2024) and stainless steel (STS 304) can be obtained at the laser power 575W and frequency 12Hz.

Evaluation of Critical Speed for Active Steering Bogie Prototype (능동형 시제 조향대차의 임계속도 평가)

  • Critical speed analysis was conducted for a active steering bogie prototype, developed to improve the curving performance of railway vehicles. The critical speed for the design concept was about 169.2k m/h. To validate the analysis result, we performed a critical speed test for the prototype bogie using a roller-rig tester. The test results showed that the critical speed for the prototype bogie was about 165 km/h. From the analysis and test results, The critical speed for the prototype bogie was determined to be 165 km/h. Considering the maximum operating speed of the test vehicle is 100 km/h, the prototype bogie is considered stable.

  • Bio-diesel applications seem to be extended due to bio-diesel policies and changes of agricultural environment. This study was conducted to develop a rapeseed reaping equipment attachable to the conventional combine. This paper was intended to report concept design, process and manufacturing of the prototype rapeseed reaping equipment. For concept design, physical properties of "SUNMANG", which is a typical rapeseed as bio-diesel materials, were considered. The designed prototype rapeseed reaping equipment consisted of wide-width plates, finger type knifes, side cutter knifes and drive equipments. The wide-width plate is 2.1 m wide, 0.7 m long, and 0.002 m thick. The finger type cutter knifes have 14.5 fingers, 30 knifes, and the specification was 7.6 cm of pitch, 8.3 cm of length and $21^{\circ}$ of cutting angle. The side cutter knifes consisted of a hydraulic pump, a hydraulic motor, a flow control and a relief valve, a hydraulic hose, a driving equipment and a reciprocating cutter knife. The 18 reciprocating cutter knifes were 137 cm long and knife pitch, knife length and cutting angle were 7.7 cm, 10.5 cm, and $18^{\circ}$. Prototype weight of the rapeseed reaping equipment was heavier by 272 kg when compared with the manual reaping equipments. Load distributions of left and right side showed 50% and 49%, and those of front and rear side showed 64% and 36%. Static turn-over angles in left and right of the prototype were $38.1^{\circ}$ and $38.7^{\circ}$, respectively. The designed prototype rapeseed reaping equipment was properly mounted at the front of a conventional combine.

Understanding about Novice Learner's Programming Conception by Prototype Theory

  • In this paper, we propose to understand the conceptual structure of programming elements that learners form during the prototyping theory. To do this, we reviewed previous studies on the meaning of conception and prototype theory and conducted a course of problem-solving programming for 33 university students who had no prior experience in programming, and collected transcription materials through conceptual metaphorical writing. The conclusions of this study are as follows: 1) Identifying the conceptual structure of learners as a conceptual metaphor can enhance the effectiveness of programming education. 2) Learners need to reinforce the experience of forming abstract attributes to form mature programming concepts. 3) The concept of programming differs in the structure of multi-level concepts that students, teachers, and professional programmers have in each group. 4) Programming elements should intentionally block misconception risks in the meaning of symbols. 5) Concept evaluation tools should be developed to check whether various attributes can be applied.
