Co-operative (Co-op) education is a college program that integrates classroom studies with paid, productive and real-life work experience. A mandatory Co-op program for the degree is introduced with a sample curriculum from the Mechanical Engineering program at University of the Pacific. The mandatory Co-op program requires a minimum of 7 months of work experience with the option of pursuing a 12 month program. Students also have the opportunity of participating in an Engineering Industry Fellowship (EIF) program or an International Engineering Co-op program (IECP). University of the Pacific has engineering programs in Bio-Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Engineering Management, Engineering Physics, and Mechanical Engineering. All the programs are ABET-accredited except the Bio-Engineering program, which is relatively new. The Co-op employers evaluate the Co-op students at the end of the working period before returning to school, and the students also provide an evaluation of their Co-op experience. Co-op employer evaluations of student work are used in ABET assessment methods developed by the Mechanical Engineering program at University of the Pacific.

Slipforming is a construction method in which the forms move continuously during the placement of concrete. This paper presents the development of a computer aided program designated as "CADSLIPFORM" for slipforming operations. The program incorporates maturity methods for the prediction of initial setting times of slipform concrete layers using laboratory data (time-temperature histories and setting times of concrete mixtures at different temperatures) and generates slipform mock-up times. The performance of CADSLIPFORM is validated by comparing simulated mock-up times with those estimated in the field through conventional hard front by rod (R) method. Moreover, the program versatility is demonstrated by illustrating mock-up simulations for different cases with variable slipform parameters such as: number and thickness of concrete layers, concrete temperature (simulating variable setting times) and slipform speed. The program also incorporates the choice of Freiesleben Hansen & Pederson (FHP) and Carino & Tank (CT) maturity functions. CADSLIPFORM can assist user to develop reliable schedule of slipforming operation suitable for a specific project by optimizing various slipform parameters.

The purpose of this study is to develop a computer-assisted nutrition counseling program for dietitians in elementary school foodservice. The program consists of four menus. The first menu is to assess the general status of the body, such as ideal body weight, obesity index, and physical development based on age, sex, height, and weight. The second menu is a dietary analysis program with respect to the Korean recommended dietary allowance. The third menu can be used for nutrition counseling to give suggestions about food habits and physical activities. The fourth menu is the data printing function to give consultations for clients which can be used for monitoring. This program can help dietitiants to provide nutrition counseling in the practice of elementary school food service.

There is difficulty in predicting the program efficiency of NOR type nonvolatile memory device adopting channel hot electron injection (CHEI) as program operation mechanism accurately since MOSFET on SOI has floating body. In this study, the dependence of program efficiency for SOI nonvolatile memory device of 200 nm channel length on SOI depletion conditions, partial depletion and full depletion, was quantitatively investigated with the aid of numerical device simulation [1].

Korea Institute of Machinery and Metals(KIMM) purchased a computer program for preliminary ship design from the ship Research Institute of Norway(NSFI). The program PROCAL(PROject CALculation) is described with other programs developed by NSFI such as SHIPMODEL, FLEET, SHIPSHAPE, SKRIN.

Nowadays the use of computer has a tendency to be being increased in classroom. Also, Many mathematics teachers are attempting to use computer efficiently in classroom. Computer has unique functions such as graphic, animation, and error correction. As graphic and animation can make the content of mathematics visible and make it easy for learners to study mathematics, it is desirable to develop the computer educational program and use it in teaching and learning mathematics. Especially, before concepts study on the unit of Figure or Function, the use of graphic or animation is efficient by being able to understand easily the content. The purpose of this thesis is to produce the computer program on the Movement of Figure in the unit of Equation of Figure which is in mathematics curriculum for the first grade of high school. In teaching and learning mathematics by use of this program, the educational effects are expected as follows: 1. It is expected that this program will stimulate the interest of learners by using animation and acoustic (sound) effect and so learners' voluntary and active thinking activity will be shown. 2. It will be helpful to form exact concept because it is possible to understand intuitively the basic concepts on the Movement of Figure by using graphic and animation. 3. It is expected that the repeated study of this program already designed will remove the fear of incomplete parts and help review them. 4. It is possible to change from teacher-centered instruction, which is the blind point of recent mathematics education, to the learner-centered instruction. However, it is necessary to realize that using the educational engineering (computer) in mathematics education cannot always cause learners to study mathematics very well and that computer cannot take the place of mathematics teacher. Accordingly, computer will be treated as aids which help learners study difficult part.

Automated sequencer로부터 얻게된 서열은 PCR이나 sequencing의 영향 등으로 기존의 자료 또는 분자생물학자가 원하는 서열과는 조금씩 차이점을 나타내게 되고, 이를 보정하기 위해 수작업으로 처리하게 된다. 이는 아주 간단함 작업임에도 불구하고 30분에서 1시간, 많게는 몇 시간씩 걸리는 불편함을 감수하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 분자 생물학자들이 효율적으로 서열을 분석하게 하는 sequence finishing program의 구현에 관하여 논의하였다.

The problems in the loadflow study of the fixed voltage DC traction power supply system including the regeneration power is analyzed. And the computer algorithm to avoid the problem is developed. A computer program using the developed algorithm was developed. A test run of the computer program is conducted and the result shows the algorithm and the program developed is very effective for the loadflow study of the system including the regeneration power.

A computer program called LAMPRO has been developed for use by the Australian meat industry to assist with the pricing of lamb carcasses. Based on a series of prediction equations and accounting for the cost structure of a meat processor the program allows the real value of a carcass to be established. The concept has also been extended to cater for mutton carcasses destined for either domestic or export markets incorporated in a program called MUTONPRO.

As students with low basic knowledge of mathematics increase, they have had difficulties in studying statistics theory class. By using recent students' characteristics which prefer seeing directly and checking to thinking logically, we try to change the teaching method into teaching in the computer lab(SAS program). We investigate whether changing the teaching method has effects on students' achievements and interests or not. The purpose of this study is to grope for a better teaching and develop mathematics education's satisfaction and qualification.
