The NHIS provides free or highly subsidized healthcare to all people by providing financial fortification. However, the financial sustainability of the scheme is threatened by numerous factors. Therefore, this work sought to provide a solution to process claims intelligently. The provided Petri net model demonstrated successful data flow among the various participant. For efficiency, scalability, and performance two main subsystems were modelled and integrated - data input and claims processing subsystems. We provided smart claims processing algorithm that has a simple and efficient error detection method. The complexity of the main algorithm is good but that of the error detection is excellent when compared to literature. Performance indicates that the model output is reachable from input and the token delivery rate is promising.
Rapid advances in science and technology with exponential development of smart mobile devices, workstations, supercomputers, smart gadgets and network servers has been witnessed over the past few years. The sudden increase in the Internet population and manifold growth in internet speeds has occasioned the generation of an enormous amount of data, now termed 'big data'. Given this scenario, storage of data on local servers or a personal computer is an issue, which can be resolved by utilizing cloud computing. At present, there are several cloud computing service providers available to resolve the big data issues. This paper establishes a framework that builds Hadoop clusters on the new single-board computer (SBC) Mobile Raspberry Pi. Moreover, these clusters offer facilities for storage as well as computing. Besides the fact that the regular data centers require large amounts of energy for operation, they also need cooling equipment and occupy prime real estate. However, this energy consumption scenario and the physical space constraints can be solved by employing a Mobile Raspberry Pi with Hadoop clusters that provides a cost-effective, low-power, high-speed solution along with micro-data center support for big data. Hadoop provides the required modules for the distributed processing of big data by deploying map-reduce programming approaches. In this work, the performance of SBC clusters and a single computer were compared. It can be observed from the experimental data that the SBC clusters exemplify superior performance to a single computer, by around 20%. Furthermore, the cluster processing speed for large volumes of data can be enhanced by escalating the number of SBC nodes. Data storage is accomplished by using a Hadoop Distributed File System (HDFS), which offers more flexibility and greater scalability than a single computer system.

Image processing techniques play an increasingly important role in many aspects of our daily life. For example, it has been shown to improve agricultural productivity in a number of ways such as plant pest detecting or fruit grading. However, massive quantities of images generated in real-time through multi-devices such as remote sensors during monitoring plant growth lead to the challenges of big data. Meanwhile, most current image processing systems are designed for small-scale and local computation, and they do not scale well to handle big data problems with their large requirements for computational resources and storage. In this paper, we have proposed an IPABigData (Image Processing Algorithm BigData) platform which provides algorithms to support large-scale image processing in agriculture based on Hadoop framework. Hadoop provides a parallel computation model MapReduce and Hadoop distributed file system (HDFS) module. It can also handle parallel pipelines, which are frequently used in image processing. In our experiment, we show that our platform outperforms traditional system in a scenario of image segmentation.

Nowadays the existing data processing systems can only support some simple query for sensor network. It is increasingly important to process the vast data streams in sensor network, and achieve effective acknowledges for users. In this paper, we propose a holistic distributed k-means algorithm for sensor network. In order to verify the effectiveness of this method, we compare it with central k-means algorithm to process the data streams in sensor network. From the evaluation experiments, we can verify that the proposed algorithm is highly capable of processing vast data stream with less computation time. This algorithm prefers to cluster the data streams at the distributed nodes, and therefore it largely reduces redundant data communications compared to the central processing algorithm.

Recently, effort to obtain various information from the vast amount of social network services (SNS) big data generated in daily life has expanded. SNS big data comprise sentences classified as unstructured data, which complicates data processing. As the amount of processing increases, a rapid processing technique is required to extract valuable information from SNS big data. We herein propose a system that can extract human sentiment information from vast amounts of SNS unstructured big data using the naïve Bayes algorithm and natural language processing (NLP). Furthermore, we analyze the effectiveness of the proposed method through various experiments. Based on sentiment accuracy analysis, experimental results showed that the machine learning method using the naïve Bayes algorithm afforded a 63.5% accuracy, which was lower than that yielded by the NLP method. However, based on data processing speed analysis, the machine learning method by the naïve Bayes algorithm demonstrated a processing performance that was approximately 5.4 times higher than that by the NLP method.
As cloud computing has become a widespread technology, malicious attackers can obtain the private information of users that has leaked from the service provider in the outsourced databases. To resolve the problem, it is necessary to encrypt the database prior to outsourcing it to the service provider. However, the most existing data encryption schemes cannot process a query without decrypting the encrypted databases. Moreover, because the amount of the data is large, it takes too much time to decrypt all the data. For this, Programmable Order-Preserving Secure Index Scheme (POPIS) was proposed to hide the original data while performing query processing without decryption. However, POPIS is weak to both order matching attacks and data count attacks. To overcome the limitations, we propose a group order-preserving data encryption scheme (GOPES) that can support efficient query processing over the encrypted data. Since GOPES can preserve the order of each data group by generating the signatures of the encrypted data, it can provide a high degree of data privacy protection. Finally, it is shown that GOPES is better than the existing POPIS, with respect to both order matching attacks and data count attacks.

This paper propose a hardware architecure of multimediasysgem for integrated processing of the multimedia data such as audio and video, and describes on the design and implementation of multimedia integrated processing Unit. The unit comprises most commonly needed multimedia processing function for computer-based video conference: audio-visual datacapture, playback, compression, decompression as well as interleaving/disinterleaving of compressed audio-visual data. The proposed architecture minimizes the CPU overhead that might be caused by multimedia data processing and assures the fluent data flow among system components. Also, this unit is tested and analyzed under the computer-based video conference to confirm the multimedia unit of proposed architecture using communication protocol and application software through Ethernet and FDDI (Fiber Distributed Data Interface) networks.

As the Ubiquitous generation approaches, the importance of the sensor data processing is growing. The data approximation scheme, one of the data processing methods, can be the key of sensor data processing, for it is related not only to the lifetime of sensors but also to the size of the storage. In this paper, we propose the Harmonic Wavelet transform which can minimize the relative error for given sensor data. Harmonic Wavelets use the harmonic mean as a representative which is the minimum point of the maximum relative error between two data values. In addition, Harmonic Wavelets retain the relative errors as wavelet coefficients so we can select proper wavelet coefficients that reduce the relative error more easily. We also adapt the greedy algorithm for local optimization to reduce the time complexity. Experimental results show the performance and the scalability of Harmonic Wavelets for sensor data.

The recent sudden increase of big data has characteristics such as continuous generation of data, large amount, and unstructured format. The existing relational database technologies are inadequate to handle such big data due to the limited processing speed and the significant storage expansion cost. Thus, big data processing technologies, which are normally based on distributed file systems, distributed database management, and parallel processing technologies, have arisen as a core technology to implement big data repositories. In this paper, we propose a design methodology for large-scale database based on MongoDB by extending the information engineering methodology based on E-R data model.
Recently, the improvement of on-board satellite sensors covering hyperspectral image sensors, high spatial resolution sensors provide data on earth in diverse aspect. The application field relating remotely sensed data also varies depending on what type of job one wants. The various resolution of sensors from low to extremely high is also available on the market with a user defined specific location. The expense to purchase remote sensed data is going down compare to the cost it need past few years ago in terms of research or private use. Now, the satellite remote sensed data is used on the field of forecasting, forestry, agriculture, urban reconstruction, geology, or other research field in order to extract meaningful information by applying special techniques of image processing. There are many image processing packages available worldwide and one common aspect is that they are expensive. There need to be a advanced satellite data processing package for people who can not afford commercial packages to apply special remote sensing techniques on their data and produce valued-added product. The study was carried out with the purpose of developing a special satellite data processing package which covers almost every satellite produced data with normal image processing functions and also special functions needed on specific research field with friendly graphical user interface (GUI). And for the people with any background of remote sensing with windows platform.
