  • A field experiment was performed to analyze the properties of SFRS(steel fiber reinforced shotcrete) against WMRS(wire mesh reinforced shotcrete) with some experimental parameters. The parameters were reinforcing methods(steel fiber and wire mesh), steel fiber contents(0.5%, 0.75%, and 1.0%), silica fume contents(0.0% and 10.0%), spraying thicknesses of layer(10㎝, 8㎝, and 6㎝), and spraying parts(side wall, shoulder, and crown). According to the analyzed results, the mechanical properties of SFRS such as compressive strength, flexural strength, and load-carrying capacity after cracks were improved. And the economic evaluation was also performed on the basis of the required thickness of the layer and other researcher's results for rebound ratios. From the results of this tests, it is found that the traditional WMRS may be substituted by the SFRS in the viewpoint of the economic evaluation as well as the mechanical properties. In additions, the silica fume, even if it is very expensive, can significantly improve the mechanical properties of the shotcrete regardless of mixing with or without the steel fiber.

  • In this study, the Buckling restrained braces reinforced with engineering plastics that can compensate for the disadvantages in the manufacturing process of the existing buckling restrained brace. The proposed PC-BRB was fabricated to evaluate the reinforcement effect by carrying out a structural performance test and a full-scale two-layer frame test through cyclic loading test. As a result of PC-BRB's incremental and cyclic loading test, stable hysteresis behavior was achieved within the target displacement, and the compressive strength adjustment coefficient satisfied the recommendation. As a result of the real frame experiment, the strength of the reinforced specimen increased compared to the unreinforced specimen, and the ductility and energy dissipation increased.

  • The present study was to examine the influence of porosity and moisture content on the water permeability, strength and plant-growth characteristics of porous concrete. The result of the experiment verified that the coefficient of permeability of porous concrete with porosity between $30\%\;and\;36\%$ increased by 2cm/sec and the compressive strength decreased 1MPa at every $3\%$ increase of porosity. In addition, the plant growth of porous concrete showed 5cm at $36\%$ porosity and 2.5cm at $30\%$ porosity respectively. Thus, the higher the porosity, the more the plant grew. When $2\%$ moisture content was used in porous concrete with the same porosity, the plant growth was accelerated two times faster than the case without it.

  • The reinforced concrete column confined by square steel tubes(RCST) is a reinforced column (RC) confined by thin steel tubes which cover over the full length of the column but terminates 15mm from the column's ends. The steel tube is in uniaxial tension stress state and won't buckle when the column sustains axial load. This will highly increase the bearing capacity and ductility of the columns. The hysteretic behavior of four square RCST columns and one square RC column were experimentally studied under constant axial load and lateral cyclic load. The wide-to-thickness (D/t) ratio of RCST columns employed in this research is 75. The main variables of the experiment were axial load ratio and compressive strength of the concrete. Based on the findings in this research, RCST columns exhibits high lateral strength, ductility, and energy dissipation ability.

  • Supplementary cementing materials (SCM), such as silica fume, slag, and low-calcium fly ash, have been widely used as mineral admixtures in high strength and high performance concrete. Due to the chemical and physical effect of SCM on hydration, compared with Portland cement, hydration process of cement incorporating SCM is much more complex. This paper presents a numerical hydration model which is based on multi-component concept and can simulate hydration of cement incorporating SCM. The proposed model starts with mixture proportion of concrete and considers both chemical and physical effect of SCM on hydration. Using this proposed model, this paper predicts the following properties of hydrating cement-SCM blends as a function of hydration time: reaction ratio of SCM, calcium hydroxide content, heat evolution, porosity, chemically bound water and the development of the compressive strength of concrete. The prediction results agree well with experiment results.

  • The Purpose of this is properties of CFT filled with expansion concrete. CFT(concrete filled steel tube) is the structure that circle shape steel column filled with concrete. 3 kinds of expansive additives and variation of replacement rate. we changed expansive additive from 0%, 10%, 20%, 30% of ratio of addition rate are selected for this experiment. Merits of CFT are concrete internal force rising influenced by steel shape restriction, reinforcing the local buckling, excellent resistance to transformation. Generally, High rise building using CFT utilize the high strength and fluidity concrete for packing the tube inside. As the result a steel tube charged expensive concrete has stiffness 1.5times more than a steel tube not charged concrete. Increase of resisting power about compressive stress by binding expansion of expansive concrete affects strength increase and softness.

  • This study is investigated the various properties and drying shrinkage of concrete according to water content under the condition proper fluidity is adjusted, in order to suggest the method for reduction of crack by drying shrinkage. According to the results, though water content varies, slump and air content are satisfied to the planed values, but shear slump and separation happen at water content of 120 and 140kg/$m^3$ due to the overuse of superplasticizer(SP). As water content is diminished, setting time is retarded by an increase of the using amount of SP, and compressive and tensile strength increase in the range of 160-180kg/㎥ of water content, but decrease significantly at 120 and 140kg/$m^3$. Length change by drying shrinkage decrease with a decrease of water content. Therefore, considering not only drying shrinkage but also fluidity, setting time and strength, it proves that the most appropriate water content of concrete is 160kg/$m^3$ in the condition of this experiment.

  • The purpose of this study was to use daily waste incinerated ash, which was reclaimed worthlessly, as substitutes of fine aggregates in concrete. Various kinds of admixture was utilized to strengthen the cement mortar mixed with waste incinerated ash, and altered the curing condition to diminish the rate of expansion. By the results of this experiment, it was possible to produce the lightweight concrete, charactered with the gravity below 1.5 and over 160kg/$\textrm{cm}^2$ compressive strength by replacing all fine aggregates with waste incinerated ash. It was also observed that the low temperature curing condition, lessoned gas exhausts, was effective to increase the strength of cement mortar.

  • This application plan is hasty prepared with the actual condition in which the majority is reclaimed by the waste with the marine and the polysilicon sludge, that is the main raw material of the solar pannel support, does. In this research, by using OPC and Fly ash, the applicability as the blending material of the polysilicon sludge was analyze and it tried to contribute to the waste reduction afterward. The replacement ratio of the sludge was set to 5. 10, 15, 20(%) with the experiment based on the based test result and the air flow rate, liquidity, flexural strength, and compressive strength was measured. The liquidity was reduced in spite of as the replacement ratio of the sludge increased and the air flow rate increased.
