Compositional rules of Korean auxiliary predicates for sentiment analysis

  • Most sentiment analysis systems count the number of occurrences of sentiment expressions in a text, and evaluate the text by summing polarity values of extracted sentiment expressions. However, linguistic contexts of the expressions should be taken into account in order to analyze sentimental orientation of the text meticulously. Korean auxiliary predicates affect meaning of the main verb or adjective in some ways while attached to it in their usage. In this paper, we introduce a new approach that handles Korean auxiliary predicates in the light of sentiment analysis. We classify the auxiliary predicates according to their strength of impact on sentiment polarity values. We also define compositional rules of auxiliary predicates to update polarity values when the predicates appear along with sentiment expressions. This approach is implemented to a sentiment analysis system to extract opinions about a specific individual from review documents which were collected from various web sites. An experimental result shows approximately 72.6% precision and 52.7% recall for correctly detecting sentiment expressions from a text.

새로운 Fuzzy Logic을 이용한 선박조타계의 제어 (Design of Ship's Steering System by Introducting the Improved Fuzzy Logic)

  • Many studies have been done in the field of fuzzy logic theory, but it's application to the ship's steering system is few until this date. This paper is to survey the effect of application of fuzzy logic control by new compositional rule of Inference to the ship's steering system. The controller is made up of a set of Linguistic Control Rules which are conditional linguistic statements connecting the inputs and output, and take the inputs derived from deviation angle and it's angular velocity. The Linguistic Control Rules are implemented on the digital computer to verify the performance of the fuzzy logic controller and simulations have been done in six cases of initial condition and disturbance type. Consequently, it was proved that the ship's steering system by introducing the F.L.C. is performed efficiently and less energy loss system compared with the conventional autopilot.

Evaluation of Microwave Dielectric Properties of MgO-TiO2 System by Dielectric Mixing Rules

  • Effects of compositions on the microwave dielectric properties of the MgO-$TiO_2$ system were investigated as a function of the molar ratio of MgO to $TiO_2$ ($0.9{\leq}MgO/TiO_2\;(x){\leq}1.2$). With the compositional changes, secondary phases of $MgTi_2O_5$ and $Mg_2TiO_4$ were also detected along with $MgTiO_3$. Microwave dielectric properties of the specimens were dependent on the types of phases developed in the sintered specimens. A single phase of $MgTiO_3$ showed a dielectric constant (K) of 18.2, a quality factor (Qf) of 198,000 GHz, and a temperature coefficient of resonant frequency (TCF) of $-51\;ppm/^{\circ}C$. However, the dielectric properties of the specimens with a secondary phase of $MgTi_2O_5$ (K=19.9, Qf=48,000 GHz) and/or $Mg_2TiO_4$ (K=15.6, Qf=56,000 GHz) were worsened. Dependence of the microwave dielectric properties on the secondary phase of the MgO-$TiO_2$ system was also discussed in terms of dielectric mixing rules.

복합 레이블을 적용한 한국어 구문 규칙 (Korean Syntactic Rules using Composite Labels)

  • 본 논문에서는 한국어 구문 분석 및 구문 트리 표현을 위한 복합 레이블 생성 방법을 제안한다. 기존의 구문 트리 표현에서는 미리 정의된 구문 트리 레이블을 사용하여 구문 정보를 표현하였다. 본 논문에서는 이진 규칙하에서 품사태그 정보만을 이용하여 구문 레이블을 자동으로 생성하는 방법을 제시한다. 제안된 구문 레이블은 두 개의 하위 구성체의 품사정보를 적절히 구성하여 형성되며, 동시에 현 구성체의 상태 및 역할 정보를 표현할 수 있도록 고안되었다. 이와 같이 함으로써 품사태그 정보가 가지고 있는 정보를 그대로 구문 트리에 반영시킬 수 있었다. 또한, 품사 정보와 이진규칙만을 이용하여 구문 트리를 표현하기 때문에, 다양한 구문 규칙을 채택하고 있는 서로 다른 구문 분석기의 결과를 정규화 하는 데 적용할 수 있을 것이며, 일본어와 같은 다른 언어에도 쉽게 적용 가능하다. 약 31,080 문장에 대한 구문 분석의 결과, 79.30%의 정확도를 얻을 수 있었으며, 이는 제안된 구문 트리 표현 방법이 구문 분석기의 효율에도 좋은 영향을 미침을 보이는 것이다.

지능적인 뉴로-퍼지 시스템의 설계 및 구현 (The Design and Implementation of An Intelligent Neuro-Fuzzy System(INFS))

  • The Max-Min CRI method , a traditional inference method , has three problems: subjective formulation of membership functions, error-prone weighting strategy, and inefficient compositional rule of inference. Because of these problems, there is an insurmountable error region between desired output and inferred output. To overcome these problems, we propose an Intelligent Neuro-Fuzzy System (INFS) based on fuzzy thoery and self-organizing functions of neural networks. INFS makes use of neural networks(Error Back Propagation) to solve the first problem, and NCRI(New Max-Min CRI) method for the second. With a proposed similarity measure, NCRI method is an improved method compared to the traditional Max-Min CRI method. For the last problem, we propose a new defuzzification method which combines only the appropriate rules produced by the rule selection level. Applying INFS to a D.C. series motor, we can conclude that the error region is reduced and NCRI method performs better than Max-Min CRI method.

크리스프 타입 퍼지 제어기의 동특성 해석 (Analysis on Dynamical Behavior of the Crisp Type Fuzzy controller)

  • 퍼지 제어기에 관한 최근 연구에서, 연산의 간략성을 위해 퍼지 제어 규칙의 후건부에 대하여 퍼지 집합 대신에 크리스프 값을 사용하는 크리스프 타입 퍼지 제어기 모델이 다양한 분양의 응용에 널리 이용괴고 있다. 이 논문에서는 max-min 추론법 및 product-sum 추론법에 기초한 크리스프 타입 퍼지 제어기의 동특성을 해석하였다. 해석결과, 크리스프 타입 퍼지 제어기는 근사적으로 PD 제어기와 같이 동작함을 보였다.

Hardware Approach to Fuzzy Inference―ASIC and RISC―

  • This talk presents the overview of the author's research and development activities on fuzzy inference hardware. We involved it with two distinct approaches. The first approach is to use application specific integrated circuits (ASIC) technology. The fuzzy inference method is directly implemented in silicon. The second approach, which is in its preliminary stage, is to use more conventional microprocessor architecture. Here, we use a quantitative technique used by designer of reduced instruction set computer (RISC) to modify an architecture of a microprocessor. In the ASIC approach, we implemented the most widely used fuzzy inference mechanism directly on silicon. The mechanism is beaded on a max-min compositional rule of inference, and Mandami's method of fuzzy implication. The two VLSI fuzzy inference chips are designed, fabricated, and fully tested. Both used a full-custom CMOS technology. The second and more claborate chip was designed at the University of North Carolina(U C) in cooperation with MCNC. Both VLSI chips had muliple datapaths for rule digital fuzzy inference chips had multiple datapaths for rule evaluation, and they executed multiple fuzzy if-then rules in parallel. The AT & T chip is the first digital fuzzy inference chip in the world. It ran with a 20 MHz clock cycle and achieved an approximately 80.000 Fuzzy Logical inferences Per Second (FLIPS). It stored and executed 16 fuzzy if-then rules. Since it was designed as a proof of concept prototype chip, it had minimal amount of peripheral logic for system integration. UNC/MCNC chip consists of 688,131 transistors of which 476,160 are used for RAM memory. It ran with a 10 MHz clock cycle. The chip has a 3-staged pipeline and initiates a computation of new inference every 64 cycle. This chip achieved an approximately 160,000 FLIPS. The new architecture have the following important improvements from the AT & T chip: Programmable rule set memory (RAM). On-chip fuzzification operation by a table lookup method. On-chip defuzzification operation by a centroid method. Reconfigurable architecture for processing two rule formats. RAM/datapath redundancy for higher yield It can store and execute 51 if-then rule of the following format: IF A and B and C and D Then Do E, and Then Do F. With this format, the chip takes four inputs and produces two outputs. By software reconfiguration, it can store and execute 102 if-then rules of the following simpler format using the same datapath: IF A and B Then Do E. With this format the chip takes two inputs and produces one outputs. We have built two VME-bus board systems based on this chip for Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL). The board is now installed in a robot at ORNL. Researchers uses this board for experiment in autonomous robot navigation. The Fuzzy Logic system board places the Fuzzy chip into a VMEbus environment. High level C language functions hide the operational details of the board from the applications programme . The programmer treats rule memories and fuzzification function memories as local structures passed as parameters to the C functions. ASIC fuzzy inference hardware is extremely fast, but they are limited in generality. Many aspects of the design are limited or fixed. We have proposed to designing a are limited or fixed. We have proposed to designing a fuzzy information processor as an application specific processor using a quantitative approach. The quantitative approach was developed by RISC designers. In effect, we are interested in evaluating the effectiveness of a specialized RISC processor for fuzzy information processing. As the first step, we measured the possible speed-up of a fuzzy inference program based on if-then rules by an introduction of specialized instructions, i.e., min and max instructions. The minimum and maximum operations are heavily used in fuzzy logic applications as fuzzy intersection and union. We performed measurements using a MIPS R3000 as a base micropro essor. The initial result is encouraging. We can achieve as high as a 2.5 increase in inference speed if the R3000 had min and max instructions. Also, they are useful for speeding up other fuzzy operations such as bounded product and bounded sum. The embedded processor's main task is to control some device or process. It usually runs a single or a embedded processer to create an embedded processor for fuzzy control is very effective. Table I shows the measured speed of the inference by a MIPS R3000 microprocessor, a fictitious MIPS R3000 microprocessor with min and max instructions, and a UNC/MCNC ASIC fuzzy inference chip. The software that used on microprocessors is a simulator of the ASIC chip. The first row is the computation time in seconds of 6000 inferences using 51 rules where each fuzzy set is represented by an array of 64 elements. The second row is the time required to perform a single inference. The last row is the fuzzy logical inferences per second (FLIPS) measured for ach device. There is a large gap in run time between the ASIC and software approaches even if we resort to a specialized fuzzy microprocessor. As for design time and cost, these two approaches represent two extremes. An ASIC approach is extremely expensive. It is, therefore, an important research topic to design a specialized computing architecture for fuzzy applications that falls between these two extremes both in run time and design time/cost. 양상 논리에 대한 구성주의적 해석 (Constructivist interpretation on the modal logic)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 우선 일차적으로 양상논리학체계를 국어의 통사론적 구조 하에서 재구성하는 것이고, 둘째로 이를 구성주의 인식론의 관점에서 해석하는 것이다. 말하자면, 본 연구는 논리학에 대한 인식론적 해석, 즉 일종의 메타-논리학적 연구이다. 본 연구는 논리(규칙) 및 논리학적 체계는 선험적으로 우리 정신에 주어진 원리가 아니라, 인식 주관이 외적 대상들을 조작하는 행동들 중에서 반복적으로 작용하는 메커니즘들을 형식적으로 구조화하는 데서 성립한다는 것을 정당화하고자 한다. 말하자면, 논리규칙의 후험적 구성주의 논제를 정당화하고자 한다. 따라서 본 연구는 일체의 논리적 구조들을 심리학적 구조들에로 환원을 시도하는 일종의 환원주의이다. 필자가 강조하는 논리적 구성의 두 계기는 체계의 닫힘과 새로운 모순의 발견이다. 따라서 여기서는 명제계산체계 내에 있는 모순을 지적하고 이를 극복하기 위해서 양상논리가 출현하게 되었다는 것과 그럼에도 불구하고 이 체계 역시 새로운 모순을 만난다는 것을 증명하고자 한다. 결국 논리의 구성주의의 논제는 상위의 체계는 하위의 체계에 없던 새로운 제한적 속성이 등장한다는 것을 해명하는 것이 될 것이다.
