Composite material made of recycling paper and plastics was developed. The tension and bending testing result of developed composite material shows that the cellulose contained in paper contributes much to get high flexural rigidity. As an application example, the raised access floor for office automation purpose was developed by making use of developed composite material. Manufacturing process together with the extrusion die and the compression die for to manufacture the access floor have been developed.
This paper presents the plastic inhomogeneous deformation behavior of bimetal composite rods during the axisymmetric and steady-state extrusion process through a conical die. The rigid-plastic FE model considering frictional contact problem was used to analyze the co-extrusion process with material combinations of Cu/Al. Different cases of initial geometry shape for composite material were simulated under different conditions of co-extrusion process, which includes the interference and frictional conditions. The main design parameters influencing on deformation pattern are diameter ratio of the composite components and semi-die angle. Efforts are focused on the deformation patterns, velocity gradient, predicted forming load and the end distance through the various simulations. Simulation results indicate that there is an obvious difference of forming pattern with various diameter ratio and semi-die angle. The analysis in this paper is concentrated on the evaluation of the design parameters on the deformation pattern of composite rod.

A copper-clad aluminium composite bar is lighter and less expressive than a commercial copper alloy bar. Copper-clad aluminium composite bar can be fabricated by hot hydrostatic extrusion process. In this work, the effect of die angle on the compressive properties of copper-clad aluminium composites fabricated using hydrostatic extrusion process was investigated experimentally. The results showed that optimum half die angle was in the range of 40$^{\circ}$ to 50$^{\circ}$ for an extrusion ratio of 19. The results also showed that the half die angle had little influence on the compressive strength of copper-clad aluminium composites. A diffusion layer increased with increasing die angle.

In this study, a high-speed procedure to be used in composite molding technology is developed for the production of a hybrid supercapacitor in a progressive and revolutionary current in a production system, as are the related operating conditions. Mold parts with solid modeling, the ease of programming of future mold product designs, tolerance management, and pre-explode tests by the building of a progressive die design system using Cimatron_E10 Die Design Software for the strip layout are done. The capacity of the super-hybrid composite mold design will save time and money through its verification of the manufacture of molds. We plan to apply this to future related products for production cost savings of more than 30% achieved by considering the components of the production costs, labor, and material costs of production as compared to conventional production methods.

Composite materials consists of two or more different material layers. The usefulness of clad metal rods forms the possibilities of combination of properties of different metals. Copper clad aluminum composite materials are being used for economic and structural purpose. In this study, composite billet consists of commercially pure copper and aluminum(A6061) and experimental conditions consist of the combinations of clad thickness, extrusion ratio, and semi-cone angle of die. In order to investigate the influence of these parameters on the hot direct extrudability of the copper clad aluminum composite material rods, the experimental study have been performed with various extrusion temperatures, extrusion ratios, semi-cone angles of die, and composition rate of Cu:Al.

The automated die design program is developed for cold forging of axisymmetric parts which are mainly produced by forward extrusion, backward extrusion, composite extrusion and upsetting. For this study, firstly classification of forged parts and investigation of die construction type usually employed in forging industry are carried out and the most proper type from several kinds of die construction is proposed as a standardized one. Based on the die design rules summarized in the references such as handbooks, technical papers, monthly journals, etc. the automated die design program was made using AutoLISP language available in AutoCAD software of personal computer. This program interactively runs for only input data, for example, forging process, shape of forged parts, type of punch, split of die insert and design of shrinkage rings and then displays details of drawings necessary to make a forging die. When a variety of forging processes and forged parts are tested to examine the validity of this program, it was confirmed to give good results applicable to the forging die design in press shop.

In this work, a copper-clad aluminum composite was fabricated using hot hydrostatic extrusion with various extrusion ratios (8.5, 19, 49) and semi-die angles (30, 45, 60 degree) at a temperature of 32$0^{\circ}C$, Material characteristics of copper-clad aluminum composites were determined from compression tests and hardness tests The results showed that for ER of 8.5, the optimum semi-die angle was below or equal to 30 degree and a pressure drop was about 31%. For ER of 19, the optimum semi-die angle was in the range of 40 to 50 degree and a pressure drop was about 38%. In the case of ER=49, the optimum semi-die angle was above or equal to 60 degree and a pressure drop was about 36%. Compressive yield strength was maximum for ER of 8.5 and semi-die angle of 30 degree and the value of maximum was 155 MPa. Uniform hardness distribution was obtained as the extrusion ratio increases and the semi-die angle decreases. In the case of ER=8.5 and semi-die angle of 30 degree, the lowest extrusion pressure and the maximum compressive yield strength was obtained. Therefor, it was concluded that the optimum extrusion condition for fabricated copper-clad aluminum composites under hydrostatic pressure environment was ER of 19 and semi-die angle of 30 degree.

The growth of composite-structured Nd:$GdVO_4$ single crystal rods by the double die EFG method is reported. Two crucibles are combined with an outer and inner die for ascending of different melt. The composite-structured Nd:$GdVO_4$ single crystal rods with a length of 50 mm and an outer diameter of 5 mm including of inner Nd-doped core region with diameter 3 mm were grown successfully. Nd distribution in the, radial direction has graded profile from result of EPMA. Absorption coefficient in the core region at 808 nm was $42cm^{-1}$. Finally, we demonstrated the laser oscillation using our composite crystal and 2-W output was obtained.

Improvement of the strength is one of the most important subjects on soft magnetic composite (SMC) to increase the applica ble items. In this study, lubricants for inner lubricating SMC, which can be produced in lower cost than die wall-lubricatin g SMC, varied to investigate their effect on the strength. The newly developed SMC with self-lubricating resin shows high st rength equivalent to that of SMC obtained by die wall lubrication.
In this study, a novel Cu composite sheet with embedded high electric conduction path was developed as another alternative for the interconnect materials possessing high electrical conductivity as well as high strength. The Cu composite sheet was fabricated by forming Ag conduction paths not within the interior but on the surface of a high strength Cu substrate by damascene electroplating process. As a result, the electrical conductivity increased by 40% thanks to mesh type Ag conduction paths, while the ultimate tensile strength decreased by 20%. The interfacial fracture resistance of Cu composite sheet prepared by damascene electroplating increased by above 50 times compared to Cu composite sheet by conventional electroplating. For feasibility test for practical application, a leadframe for LED module was manufactured by a progressive blanking and piercing processes, and the blanked surface profile was evaluated as a function of the volume fraction of Ag conduction paths. As Ag conduction path became finer, pressing formability improved.
