  • Water, waste, electric and gas facilities are urban based facilities that needed in our life and are often located in underground. Therefore, underground facilities are more difficult to manage efficiently than ground facilities. It is needed to carry out survey/probe into underground facilities and to build database in order to prevent city-misfortunes being occurred because of negligent management and in order to minimize budget-waste and a traffic jam according to repetition of road excavation constructions. Also, the development of application system is required to manage efficiently underground facility. Chonju city has launched underground water supply facility computerizing project as a part of National Geographic Information System project until December 1998 and executed survey/probe into 402.89 km water supply that is 80 mm up inside central town area 39.6 $km^2$. Also, chonju city built database into 537 km water supply that is 80 mm below based on water supply card without other survey/probe works. Also, existing work process each department is changed into GIS applied work process and underground water supply facility management system is developed by its work process basis. Water supply underground facility management system that is developed is composed of sub-system like base-map management, water supply inspect, water supply management and water supply inquiry, construction work management, administration management and map management. This research presents the procedure and method of underground water supply facility survey/probe and problem being occurred during survey/probe procedure and also show the functions of each sub-systems composing underground water supply facility management system.

  • Creativity is an essential ability for a successful design task, mainly because design is an activity creating something new. As the sphere of design has expanded and become complex, the design task goes beyond an individual designer's capability. Therefore, it is necessary to organize a design team consisting of various team members with diverse expertises. The aim of this study is to find out the impact of fundamental attributes of members on the group creativity in order to establish a guideline for building a creative design team. Heterogeneous teams and homeogenous teams were created according to three main factors of group creativity namely, personality, field and experience. The group creativity of each team were evaluated through protocol analysis of design activities as well as the comparison of problem solving processes and outputs. It was identified that the impact of design teams on the group creativity was distinctively different in four phases of the design process (preparation, divergence, convergence, and execution) regarding creativity properties such as fluency, elaboration, originality, usefulness. Based on these findings, a schematic model for building a design team in order to enhance the group creativity by composing the most appropriate team members for each phases of the design process was developed.

  • Both curriculum and textbooks play an important role in the process of didactical transposition from mathematics as a science to school mathematics. The 2009 revised national curriculum for mathematics introduced the system of grade-band, so its achievement criteria for mathematical contents tend to be addressed more and less generally in the curriculum. We need to investigate whether the achievement criteria were applied meaningfully in elementary textbooks for mathematics. This study aims to recognize the connection between the curriculum and the textbooks and make a suggestion for composing the following curriculum and its textbooks. To do this, we analyzed the mathematics textbooks for 1~2 grades in relation to the mathematical contents as per reconstructed one of curriculum achievement criteria, the mathematical terms and symbols, and the mathematical processes -mathematical problem solving, mathematical reasoning, mathematical communication. Based this analysis, futhermore, this study includes some didactical discussions and implications for development of mathematics textbooks in 3~4 and 5~6 grade-bands.

  • Tris(8-quinolinolato)aluminum(III); $Alq_3$ has been frequently used as an electron transporting layer in organic light-emitting diodes. Either Ba with a low work function or Au with a high work function was deposited on $Alq_3$ layer in vacuum. And then, the behaviors of electron transition at the $Alq_3$/Ba and $Alq_3$/Au interfaces were investigated by using the near edge x-ray absorption fine structure (NEXAFS) spectroscopy. In the each interface, the energy levels of unoccupied obitals were assigned as ${\pi}^*$(LUMO, LUMO+1, LUMO+2 and LUMO+3) and ${\sigma}^*$. And the relative intensities of these peaks were investigated. In an oxygen atom composing $Alq_3$ molecule, the relative intensities for a transition from K-edge to LUMO+2 were largely increased as Ba coverage (${\Theta}_{Ba}$, 2.7 eV) with a low work function was in-situ sequentially increased on $Alq_3$ layer. In contrast, the relative intensities for the LUMO+2 peak were reduced as Au coverage (${\Theta}_{Au}$, 5.1 eV) with a high work function were increased on $Alq_3$ layer. This means that the electron transition by photon in oxygen atom which consists in the unoccupied orbitals in $Alq_3$ molecule, largely depends on work function of a metal. Meanwhile, in the case of electron transition in a carbon atom, as ${\Theta}_{Ba}$ was increased on $Alq_3$, the relative intensity from K-edge to ${\pi}_1{^*}$ (LUMO and LUMO+1) was slightly decreased, and from K-edge to ${\pi}_2{^*}$ (LUMO+2 and LUMO+3) was somewhat increased. This rising of the energy state from ${\pi}_1{^*}$ to ${\pi}_2{^*}$ exhibits that electrons provided by Ba would contribute to the process of electron transition in the $Alq_3$/Ba interfaces. As shown in above observation, the analyses of NEXAFS spectra in each interface could be important as a basic data to understand the process of electron transition by photon in pure organic materials.

  • 1. This report is on the outcome of observation made up the breeding process of Narcissus flycatcher, Muscicapa narcissina zanthopygia, using 15 ness-boxes at Seoul and Kwang Nung Experimental forest in 1964, and the relevant feeding habit was studied by the collar method of wrapping the necks of thenestlings for 50-60 minutes or more in some cases from 1963 to 1964. 2. The Narcissus flycatcheris a common summer resident throughout Korea arriving at the end of April. The earliest data of arrival of this species in Seoul, is April 26, 1964. They migrate southward from the later part of September to early part of October. 3. In a week after their arrival , they start to build nest after a brief courtship. Male and female prepare their nest ina nestboxes in 4 or 5 days. Nests are usually found in the moss, which provide definite frame-work. The inner side of the nest is usually composed of roots of Gramineae or leaves of pine, oak or other broad leave tree. 4. The laying period is generally from the later part of April to the middle of June : and the number of eggs laid is from 3 to 8 , therefore 5 in average : eggs are pink with traces of milky yellow blending of light auburn and orange red spots and chicken-egg-like in shape. 5.The incubation takes place for 7-12 days from the middle part of May to the middle of June, in the order of male and female . The hatching rate tends to increase in proportion to clutch size. 6. The feeding period usually lasts 15 days in average from the early part of June to the middle of July and the feeding urge tends to increase in proportion to brood size. 7. The animals invading into their nest-boxes are red ants, chipmunks, bees , barkbeetles and philippine red-tailed shirkes, etc. 8. On the basis of analysis covering 714 birds in 31 nests, the food they consumed during the nesting period of nestlings were mostly of animal matters composing of : insect larvae form-39. 88% insect adult form 36.26%, insect pupae-0.19%, spider-17.75% and other animal matters 5.92% , Besides a small amount of plant pieces were found . As to the insect larvae, Lepidoptera was the largest in the content followed by Hymenoptera , Orthoptera and Coleoptera. As to the insect adult, Diptera was the largest in the content followed by Coleoptera, and Hymenoptera. In view of forest protection, noxious insect was of 69.38%, useful insect 4.39%, and spider 17.75%. 9. The rich assortment of its food, the ability of acquiring various insect (adults as well as larvae), its destruction of great numbers of harmful insects , and its quick assimilation artificial nesting with the nest-boxes of 2.5-3cm entrance hole employed, allow us to conclude that the flycatcher may be successfully employed in the elimination of fores pests. The above results are only that part obtained near Seoul in the middle of Korea, however, if we would extend the scheme to other broad areas using similar techniques, the nest-boxes could not only be well used by the birds, but also it would help to prevent the increase of harmful. insects.

  • The purposes of this study were to a) measure the IC identified of CFMC (contract foodservice management company) ,b) examine IC circumstance of CFMC, c) evaluate practically IC measurement tool of CFMC, and d) present information for selecting an adequate CFMC to clients. The questionnaires of IC measurement were handed out to 108 CFMCs, there composing of main office employees, foodservice managers, customers, and clients of 207 school,38 hospital, and 86 husiness/industry foodservices. The statistical data analysis was completed using SPSS Win (ver 12.0) for descriptive analysis, t-test, Mann-Whitney U test. First, CFMCs had operational experience for an average of 8 years and 8 months, and served an average of 38,540 meals a day. Most of the respondent companies specialized in the school foodservice field and managed an average of 66 clients for the contract period of 2 years and 3 months. Second, the respondent companies had gotten a score of 77.78 points for the total average, 77.7 points in the large enterprise group and 78.1 points in the small and medium-sized enterprise group. Therefore, the minimum number of points for the accrediting license on Qualification is suggested to be over 70 out of a 100 point scale; this study would be serve as reference for the certification license on qualification. On the level of evaluation category, the scores were 14.15 to 20 points on $\ulcorner$finance$\urcorner$, 19.24 to 25 points on $\ulcorner$customer$\urcorner$, 19.33 to 25 points on $\ulcorner$process$\urcorner$, 14.31 to 20 points on $\ulcorner$human resource$\urcorner$, and 8.6 to 10 point on $\ulcorner$renewal and development$\urcorner$ . $\ulcorner$Renewal and development$\urcorner$ and $\ulcorner$customer focus$\urcorner$ received better grades than other evaluation categories. Third, $\ulcorner$Finance$\urcorner$ indicated similar distribution overall. Small and medium-sized companies had lower grades than large companies on 'market ability' of $\ulcorner$customer$\urcorner$ , but, clients of small and medium-sized companies had higher grade for 'client satisfaction' than large companies. Most of the companies supported 'infrastructure support for foodservice operation' of $\ulcorner$process$\urcorner$ by the main office of CFMCs, but, the branch chain offices of CFMCs were not applied efficiently. Large companies made more effort to improve the 'employee ability' of $\ulcorner$human focus$\urcorner$ than small and medium-sized CFMC. The 'research and development cost' of $\ulcorner$renewal and development$\urcorner$ was increased compared to the previous year. In conclusion, if CFMCs were to perform self-evaluation and a routine checkups by utilizing CFMC's IC measuring tool, improvements in CFMC operational capacities as well as foodservice quality can be noted. • Hierarchical $ZnCo_2O_4$ hollow nanofibers were prepared by electrospinning and subsequent heat-treatment process. The spinning solution containing polystyrene (PS) nanobeads was electrospun to nanofibers. During heat-treatment process, PS nanobeads in the composite were decomposed and therefore generated numerous pores uniformly in the structure, which facilitated the heat transfer and gas penetration into the structure. The resulting hierarchical $ZnCo_2O_4$ hollow nanofibers were applied as an anode material for lithium-ion batteries. The discharge capacity of the nanofibers was $815mA\;h\;g^{-1}$ ($646mA\;h\;cm^{-3}$) after the 300th cycle at a high current density of $1.0A\;g^{-1}$. However, $ZnCo_2O_4$ nanopowders showed the discharge capacity of $487mA\;h\;g^{-1}$ ($450mA\;h\;cm^{-3}$) after 300th cycle. The excellent lithium ion storage property of the hierarchical $ZnCo_2O_4$ hollow nanofibers was attributed to the synergetic effects of the hollow nanofiber structure and the $ZnCo_2O_4$ nanocrystals composing the shell. The hierarchical hollow nanofiber structure introduced in this study can be extended to various metal oxides for various applications, including energy storage.

  • Dielectric resonators with BT (BaTiO3), TiO2, and ZrO2 powders without using the rare earth oxide powders were fabricated for the target relative permittivity of between 30 and 40 and the filter characteristics of metal cavity filter with the dielectric resonators inside were evaluated. Powder characteristics such as particle size distributions and specific surface areas were measured for the composing raw powders to evaluate the powder states. After measuring and comparing the relative permittivity and dielectric losses of the dielectrics of three different compositions, the specific composition was determined (BT:TiO2:ZrO2=1:4:1 in mole) and the dielectric resonators were fabricated with that composition, which shows relative permittivity of around 35. The powder characteristics of mixed powders with the determined composition were also evaluated to investigate any agglomerates possibly formed in the process of powder mixing. Dielectric resonators were fabricated by the powder compaction (compaction pressure: 31 MPa) and firing method. The peak firing temperature was 1,300℃ and the holding time at the peak temperature was 3 hours. After firing, cylindrical resonators with one end closed were mechanically machined to eliminate any size differences in dielectric resonator which can be caused by the shrinkage difference during each firing process of resonator fabrication. After measuring the resonator characteristic in the frequency range from 3.6 GHz to 3.8 GHz by changing the height of dielectric resonator, the height of the resonator was determined to be 11.7 mm. Finally, filter characteristics of TM (Transverse Magnetic) mode metal cavity filters with the dielectric inside were measured and evaluated. The metal cavity filters with the dielectric resonators showed the insertion losses of below 1 dB with the band widths of 200 MHz and over 20 dB return losses from 3.6 GHz to 3.8 GHz, whose filter characteristics well satisfied the requirements of the band pass filters for the base stations and it was proved that the dielectrics using the proposed composition could be used as dielectric resonator.
