The Global Positioning System, GPS technology has been widely used in positioning and attitude determination. It is well known that the accuracy, availability and reliability of the positioning results are heavily dependent on the number and geometric distribution of tracked GPS satellites. Because of this limitation, in some situations, such as in urban canyons, underground space or inside of buildings, it is really hard to navigate with GPS receiver. Therefore, in order to improve the performance of satellite-based positioning, the integration of GPS with the pseudolite technology has been proposed. With this pseudolite technology, it is expected that seamless positioning service can be provided in wider area without replacing existing GPS receivers. On the other hand, to adopt pseudolites at larger scale, it is necessary to verify how the pseudolites can complement the existing GPS-based positioning. In this paper the authors present the detail of experimental investigations and the results of the fundamental verification for seamless positioning using integration of GPS and pseudolite. This paper shows that the accuracy and efficiency of integrating GPS and pseudolite through the dynamic and static positioning experiment and discuss about the influence on GPS receiver by pseudolite signal. The experimental results indicate that the accuracy of the height component can indeed be significantly improved, to approximately the same level as the horizontal component.

To identify miRNA-mRNA interaction pairs associated with binary phenotypes, we propose a hierarchical structural component model for miRNA-mRNA integration (HisCoM-mimi). Information on known mRNA targets provided by TargetScan is used to perform HisCoM-mimi. However, multiple databases can be used to find miRNA-mRNA signatures with known biological information through different algorithms. To take these additional databases into account, we present our advanced application software for HisCoM-mimi for binary phenotypes. The proposed HisCoM-mimi supports both TargetScan and miRTarBase, which provides manually-verified information initially gathered by text-mining the literature. By integrating information from miRTarBase into HisCoM-mimi, a broad range of target information derived from the research literature can be analyzed. Another improvement of the new HisCoM-mimi approach is the inclusion of updated algorithms to provide the lasso and elastic-net penalties for users who want to fit a model with a smaller number of selected miRNAs and mRNAs. We expect that our HisCoM-mimi software will make advanced methods accessible to researchers who want to identify miRNA-mRNA interaction pairs related with binary phenotypes.
There are a lot of linear dynamic analysis methods for complex structures. Each method has advantages and shortcomings. Method of dynamic analysis for complex structure is selected considering characteristics of dynamic loading, computer facility available number of degree of freedem and accuracy of results. It is a main point of view to get economical results rather then accurate ones for analysis of general complex structures, Mode superposition method and direct integration method are generally used. However, the characteristics of load is not considered in mode superpositon method, the personal computer cannot be used in direct integration methods. To over-come these shortcomings, the component mode method incorporating Ritz algorithm updated is proposed to solve economically dynamic behavior of the structures. The purpose of study is a formulation of algorithm, and computer programing suitable for dynamic analysis of the complex structure in personal computer environment.
Any theory of liquid should account for interactions between molecules, since molecules in a liquid are close to each other. For this matter statistical-mechanical methodology has been used and various models have been proposed on the basis of this methodology. Among them Kirkwood-Buff solution theory has attracted a lot of interest, because it is regarded as being the most powerful. In this article Kirkwood-Buff solution theory is revisited and its key equations are derived. On the way to these equations, the concepts of pair correlation function, radial distribution function, Kirkwood-Buff integration are explained and implemented. Since complexity of statical mechanics involved in this theory, the equations are applied to one-component systems and the results are compared to those obtained by classical thermodynamics. This may be a simple way for Kirkwood-Buff solution theory to be examined for its validity.
Technology transition from defense technology to weapon system is an important process for defense acquisition program. Many countries such as USA, UK, Australia and Republic of Korea use technology readiness level (TRL) as a tool for technology transition by identifying critical technology elements (CTEs) and assessing the technology maturity. In this paper we review a transition process for the defense acquisition. Then we suggest a method to evaluate system's TRL using each component TRL and integration readiness level (IRL) between each technologies. We apply the method to an ACTD project. A result show that technology maturity is influenced by integration between technologies.
