  • This paper presents a component-based integration framework and its software component architecture for supporting the rapid integration of legacy design supporting systems in the distributed environment. Also, using standard interface, this software component architecture provides flexibility, extensibility and compatibility which ensure software components to be independent of the integration middleware and systems to be integrated.

  • Software development by component integration is the mainstream for time-to-market and is the solution for overcoming the short lifecycle of software. Therefore, the effective techniques for component integration have been working. However, the systematic and practical technique has not been proposed. One of main issues for component integration is how to specify integration and the component architecture for operating the specification, in this paper, we propose a workflow variability design technique for component integration, This technique focuses on designing to a connection contract based on the component architecture. The connection contract is designed to use the provided interface of component and the architecture can assemble and customize components by the connection contract dynamically.

  • In a large scale robot system, one of important problems is software integration, which involves three elements: modularity, reusability and stability. By these issues, the degree of convenience of system integration, its required time and the performance of the system stability can be determined. In addition, the convenience of system management can be determined by the degree of completion of service components. This paper explains the template based service component (TBSC) for the integration of service components in networked robot. The important characteristics of TBSC are automatical execution and recovery process by a PnP supporting robot framework, which helps a system operator to manage a robot system comfortably. For easy implementation and system stability, we provide a service component creator and a verification tool to developers.

  • This Current research for software architecture views and models a software system as a set of components and connectors. Components are ions of system level computational entities, connectors are ions of component interrelationships. In his paper, we focus attention on connectors for the Java Beans-based systems that are built using object integration technologies like CORBA. We present connector model in lava Beans-based system for object-oriented component integration. We start with a discussion of related work of software architecture research and of Object-Oriented modeling that focuses on the description of component collaborations. We propose connectors as transferable ions of system level component interconnection and inter-operation. Connectors are architectural ions of component coordination in the architecture of a system only. Connectors describe a collaboration rationale for component adaptations, which are then modeled in the concrete architecture of a system.

  • Object technologies like the OMG's CORBA are enabling technologies the aim to facilitate integration implementation of diverse software components in distributed. heterogeneous environment. CORBA and similar object integration technologies define a standard component interconnection and inter-operation model , promote object-oriented principles to encapsulate incompatible component implementations. In this Paper. we present a connector model for software architectural representation of complex component collaborations. Our Connector model is base on research in software achitecture and object-oriented modeling. and part of a design framework for modeling component-based system. We believe the connector concepts to be vary benificial for a clear expression of dependencies between multiple component in Java Bean-based system.

  • Recently, business application vendors have responded to customer demand with several technological and organizational changes for reflecting network-oriented process flow with electronic communication and expanding their market. In organizational changes. Vendors are adding new functionality to their core offerings through mergers and acquisitions, or by partnering with front-office operation and SCM vendors. And technological changes are embracing the development of component-based application and middleware technology to be possible with integration of their function modules. We will present the design and development process of component-based SCM system to be integrated with heterogeneous ERP under implementation. Especially, we survey and analyze the technology related with CBD(Component-Based Development) to be adapted this research - component's design and methodology, the interface for component integration, middleware's development methodology of Enterprise Middleware vendo to bundle various types of middleware into a single package product with easy-to-use interface.

  • COMS (Communication Ocean Meteorological Satellite) is the geostationary satellite being developed by Korea Aerospace Research Institute for multi-mission: experimental communication, ocean monitoring and meteorological observations. The COMS operation is controlled by the on-board software running on the spacecraft central computer. The software is written in ADA language and developed under the software life cycle: Requirement analysis, Design, Implementation, Component test and Integration test. Most functional requirements are tested at component level on a software component testing tool, ATTOL. ATTOL provides a simple way to define the test cases and automates the test program generation, test execution and test analysis. When two or more verified components are put together, the integration test starts to check the non-functional requirements: real-time aspect, performance, the HW/SW compatibility and etc. This paper introduces the COMS on-board software and explains what to test and how to test the on-board software at component level using ATTOL.

Abstract As the object-oriented approach to software development becomes more mature, software development from pre-existing, independently developed components becomes an important aim of software engineering. Therefore, integration testing becomes an important aspect of component-based software development. However, there has been little work done in the area of the component-based integration testing. In this paper, we propose the "component integration test model" which is based on UML. Furthermore, we describe a case study on "Multimedia Information Processing System" conducted to analyse the result from which our model is applied. Our model extracts the faults, which exist in interfaces of components, using sequence diagram and collaboration diagram of UML(Unified Modeling Language). As our model is based on UML, the preparation effort for testing is reduced and its test-tools can be implemented more easily through linking existing UML tool. And our model accepts the information of concurrent flow represented by collaboration diagram as well as sequential flow, so it is more suitable to component-based distributed environment.based distributed environment.
