측정장치의 compliance 유무가 복합레진의 중합수축음력의 측정에 미치는 영향 (EFFECT OF INSTRUMENT COMPLIANCE ON THE POLYMERIZATION SHRINKAGE STRESS MEASUREMENTS OF DENTAL RESIN COMPOSITES)

  • 본 연구에서는 측정장치의 compliance유무가 복합레진의 중합수축응력 측정에 미치는 영향을 알아보았다. 변위센서, cantilever load cell과 부궤환 (negative feedback) 시스템을 적용하여 compliance를 허용하는 것과 허용하지 않는 두 가지 모드로 중합수축응력의 측정이 가능한 stress-strain analyzer를 제작하였다. 한 종의 flowable (Filtek Flow: FF) 복합레진과 두 종의 universal hybrid (Z100: Z1 and Z250: Z2) 복합레진이 사용되었다. Load cell의 끝과 base plate에 고정된 직경 3.0 mm의 금속 막대에 silane을 처리하였다. 1.0 mm의 거리로 고정한 두 개의 금속 막대 사이 에 복합레진을 적용한 후 광중합을 하였다. 복합레진의 수직 중합수축률과 중합수축응력을 10 분 동안 기록하였고 인장탄성계수도 구하였다. 통계처리는 일원분산분석과 paired t-test를 시행하였고 95% 유의수준에서 Tukey's test로 사후 검정하였다. 측정된 중합수축 응력은 재료와 compliance의 유무에 따라 큰 차이를 보였다. Compliance를 허용한 모드에서 중합수축응력은 FF: 3.11 (0.13)이 가장 컸으며 Z1: 2.91 (0.10), Z2: 1.94 (0.09) Mpa의 순서였다. 측정장치의 compliance를 허용하지 않은 경우에는 Z1 17.08 (0.89)이 가장 컸고 FF: 10.11 (0.29), Z2: 9.46 (1.63) MPa의 순이었다. 또한 Z1, Z2, FF의 인장탄성계수는 각각 2.31 (0.18), 2.05 (0.20), 1.41 (0.11) GPa 이었다. 중합수축응력은 compliance mode에서는 복합레진의 수직 중합수축률이 주요 영향 요인이었으며, compliance를 배제한 모드에서는 탄성계수의 효과가 지배적이었다.

  • 조직의 정보 자산에 대한 보호가 조직의 지속가능성에 영향을 주면서, 조직들은 체계적인 정보 자산관리 및 보호를 위한 정책, 규정, 그리고 기술 등에 대한 투자를 높이고 있다. 본 연구는 조직 내 도입된 정보보안 정책을 실제 업무에 적용하는 조직원의 관점에서 보안 준수에 미치는 영향을 확인한다. 특히, 본 연구는 억제 이론 확장의 관점에서 정보보안 정책 인식, 제재의 방식, 공정성, 그리고 정보보안 준수로 이어지는 메커니즘을 밝힌다. 본 연구는 정보보안 규정을 업무에 적용한 조직의 근로자를 대상으로 확보된 316개의 표본을 적용하였으며, AMOS 및 SPSS 패키지를 활용하여 메커니즘의 연관 관계를 확인하였다. 가설 검증 결과, 정보보안 정책 인식이 제재의 심각성과 명확성을 통해 조직 공정성 및 준수 의도를 높이는 것을 확인하였으며, 개인의 공정 민감성이 공정의 원인과 결과의 과정에 조절 효과를 가지는 것을 확인하였다. 본 연구에서 확인한 제재의 영향 메커니즘은 조직내부의 보안 행동 수준 강화를 추구하는 조직에서 조직원의 참여 증진을 위한 방법 마련에 도움을 줄 것으로 기대한다.

유체골격 애벌레의 다리조직 대변형을 모사한 적응형 그리퍼 (Adaptive Gripper Mimicking Large Deforming Proleg of Hydraulic Skeleton Caterpillar)

  • In this study, we present a gripping mechanism that is inspired by caterpillar's proleg. A caterpillar's proleg has planta that gives compliance to the proleg by greatly deforming its shape. In the bio-inspired gripper, the planta is implemented by flexure joints. The flexures buckle when end force and end moment is applied on the joint in opposite direction. Using this characteristic, the gripping structure is designed so that the flexure buckling can occur. Flexure buckling increases the region where gripping force is constant and this region leads to increasing in gripping range. At the same time, flexure buckling decouples all spines and therefore all spines can move differentially and independently. With this simple but effective mechanism, the bioinspire gripper can achieve adaptive gripping on rough and rugged surfaces. A prototype is built to demonstrate adaptive gripping on rough and rugged surfaces such as cement block, brick.

  • The growth of pulsed electromagnetic field (PEMF) therapy and its progress over the years for use in post-operative bone growth has been revolutionary in its effect on bone tissue proliferation and vascular flow. However, further progress in PEMF therapy has been difficult due to lack of more evidence-based understanding of its mechanism of action. Our objective was to review the current understanding of bone growth physiology, the mechanism of PEMF therapy action along with its application in spinal surgery and associated outcomes. The authors of this review examined multiple controlled, comparative, and cohort studies to compare fusion rates of patients undergoing PEMF stimulation. Examining spinal fusion rates, a rounded comparison of post-fusion outcomes with and without bone stimulator was performed. Results showed that postoperative spinal surgery PEMF stimulation had higher rates of fusion than control groups. Though PEMF therapy was proven more effective, multiple factors contributed to difficulty in patient compliance for use. Extended timeframe of treatment and cost of treatment were the main obstacles to full compliance. This review showed that PEMF therapy presented an increased rate of recovery in patients, supporting the use of these devices as an effective post-surgical aid. Given the recent advances in the development of PEMF devices, affordability and access will be much easier suited to the patient population, allowing for more readily available treatment options.

  • The pathogenesis and mechanism of obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) has been under investigation for over 25 years, but its etiology and mechanism remains elusive. Skeletal (maxillary and/or mandibular hypoplasia or retrodisplacement, inferior displacement of hyoid) and soft tissue (increased volume of soft tissue, adenotonsillar hypertrophy, macroglossia, thickened lateral pharyngeal walls) factors, pharyngeal compliance (increased), pharyngeal muscle factors (impaired strength and endurance of pharyngeal dilators and fixators), sensory factors (impaired mechanoreceptor sensitivity, impaired pharyngeal dilator reflexes), respiratory control system factors (unstable respiratory control) and so on facilitate collapse upper airway. Therefore, OSA may be a heterogeneous disorder, rather than a single disease entity and various pathogenic factors contribute to the OSA varies person to person. As a result, patients may respond to different therapeutic approaches based on the predominant abnormality leading to the sleep-disordered breathing.

Investigating Relationship between Control Mechanisms, Trust and Channel Outcome in Franchise System

  • Purpose - The overarching aim of this study is to empirically test the effect of ex-post control mechanisms on multi-dimensional trust and channel performance in franchise systems. Although the franchise system is a vertical marketing channel based on trust between the franchisor and the franchisees, issues related to franchisee's opportunistic behavior have persisted and thus requires research into the effective control system of franchise headquarters. Research design, data, and methodology - In this study, data was collected from 150 franchises to identify the effect of two types of franchising headquarters' control system on the multi-dimensional trust and franchise channel outcome between franchisor and franchisee. To test the hypotheses intended to achieve this aim, structural equations modeling technique is utilized. Results - The results of this research reveal that among the two formal control systems studied (output and process control), output control positively and significantly affects multidimensional trust. Additionally, among the three dimensions of trust employed in this study, only expertise has a positive and significant effect on contract compliance. Equally, only expertise and integrity have a negative and significant effect on opportunistic behavior. Conclusions - The study provides managerial and theoretical insights into understanding ex-post control mechanisms, trust, compliance and opportunistic behaviors in franchise systems.

기계식 인공판막의 표면 부식에 영향을 미치는 가속내구시험기의 컴플라이언스 구조에 관한 연구 (Effect of Compliant Structure in the Accelerated Heart Valve Fatigue Tester on the Surface Pitting of the Disk)

  • 최근 동물 또는 생체에 이식한 인공판막에 표면부식에 의한 파손 예가 보고되어 연구가 진행되고 있으나 가속내구시험에 대해서는 상세한 검토가 이루어지지 않았다. T. Yhuta 교수가 개발한 가속내구시험기를 이용하여 실험한 결과, 판막 주위의 컴플라이언스구조에 의한 부식이 진행되는 것을 관찰하였다. 본 연구에서는 컴플라이언스 구조의 위치와 크기가 다른 판막 고정용 홀더를 제작하여 컴플라이언스구조가 인공판막의 부식에 미치는 영향을 검토해따. 또한, 판막의 폐쇄속도가 표면부식에 영향을 미친다고 생각하여 고속도 비디오 카메라를 사용하여 폐쇄속도를 검토하였다. 그 결과, 컴플라이언스를 증가하면 판막의 속도도 증가하며 디스크표면 부식이 진행되는 것이 관찰됐다.

인쇄회로기판의 통전검사를 위한 가변순응력을 갖는 프로브 시스템 (A variably compliable probe system for the in-circuit test of a PCB)

  • A new probing mechanism and an active compliance control algorithm have been developed for the in-circuit test of a PCB( printed circuit board ). Commercially available robotic probing devices are incapable of controlling contact force generated through rigid probe contacts with a solder joint, at high speed. The uncontrollable excessive contact force often brungs about some defects on the surface of the solder joint, which is plastically deformable over some limited contact force. This force also makes unstable contact motions resulting in unreliable test data. To overcome these problems, we propose that a serially connected macro and micro device with active compliance provide the best potential for a safe and reliable in-circuit test. This paper describes the design characteristics, modeling and control scheme of the newly proposed device. The experimental results clearly show the effectiveness of the proposed system.

  • Organizational dedication to corporate social responsibility (CSR) is set off by a number of driving forces, such as enhancing corporate financial performance, concern for the environment, regulatory compliance, and social equity. This article aims to ascertain the uptake of CSR among firms in the Philippines and Thailand leading to the attainment of sustainable development. The results revealed that CSR is carried out by the companies primarily to enhance their competitive advantage and legal compliance, which are deemed essential to the firms' existence. This study seeks to contribute to understanding how companies undertake their operations based on socially responsible practices so that the theoretical conceptualizations of sustainability can be developed. By determining what prods companies to pursue CSR, it will shed light on the mechanism that promotes the existence of sustainable organizations, linking it with CSR and the companies' objectives and strategies.

  • A novel actuator with built-in the displacement and the thrust control function is presented in this paper. This actuator is a kind of compact hydraulic cylinder system which consists of a hydraulic cylinder, a spool, a sleeve, a mechanical feedback mechanism and a stepping motor. The displacement and thrust is in proportion to the rotational angle of stepping motor by the mechanical feedback. In order to investigate characteristics of this actuator, simulation study and preliminary experiments are conducted. Through the preliminary experiment this actuator is very effective in the control for displacement and thrust. Also, it became obvious that the stability of system can be adjusted by using the restrictor with the effect of velocity feedback. Furthermore, this paper explained that a flexible compliance control could be realized by adjusting the feedback weighting in the actuator.
