호흡기 보호구 착용시 움직임과 매일 착용에 따른 Fit Factors의 변화 (Day-to-Day and Movement-Dependent Variations of Quantitative Fit Tests for an Individual Wearing A Respirator)

  • The fit of a respirator to the face of an individual can be determined by a qualitative fit test (QLFT) or a quantitative fit test (QNFT). The pass/fail decision from a QLFT or QNFT for the same respirator on the same individual may vary from one wearing to the next, because the human facial features are complex and the respirator may not fit to the face in the same way every time it is worn. This study reports how the fit factors (FF) resulting from a QNFT on an individual vary from day to day and depend on the movements in the six fit test exercises. The reported FFs provide an objective and numerical basis (FF) which does not depend on the subject's voluntary or involuntary response. Four half-mask (H1-H4) and four full-facepiece respirators (F1-F4) were fit tested on one wearer 10 times a day for 5 days with a PortaCount (model 8010, TSI). The FFs obtained for each set of 10 fit tests on a specific day and 50 fit tests on five days involving one of the six exercise regimes have been recorded as log-normal distributions. All of the geometric standard deviations (GSD) of the overall FFs varied widely among every wearing and day except for H1 and F3, and the variability of the half-mask respirators was larger than that of the full-facepiece respirators. Among the six exercise regimes, reading or talking (RT) had markedly the lowest exercise FFs on the tested individual. Generally, there were significant differences between the first normal breathing (NB1) FFs and the remaining exercise FFs.

  • Purpose: This study aimed to compare the effects of a four-week scapular stabilization exercise program using the PNF technique on scapular symmetry and range of flexion motion (ROM), pain, function, and quality of life (QOL) in post-mastectomy women with breast cancer. Methods: This study included 20 women divided into an experimental group (n = 10) and a control group (n = 10). All patients performed complex decongestive physiotherapy for 40 min daily, five times per week for four weeks. The experimental group performed the extra scapular stabilizing exercise program using the PNF technique for 50 min daily, five times per week for four weeks. Scapular symmetry, shoulder flexion ROM, pain and function, and QOL were subsequently assessed. For ROM measurement, the range of shoulder flexion was measured using a clinometer smart phone application; the pain of the shoulder was measured using the visual analogue scale (VAS); the scapular position was measured using a lateral scapular slide test (LSST); the level of pain and functional activity was measured using the Shoulder Pain and Disability Index (SPADI); and the QOL was measured using Functional Assessment of Cancer Therapy-Breast. Results: There were significant differences in shoulder flexion ROM, VAS, SPADI, and LSST 0˚ and 45˚ when the experimental group was compared with the control group (p < 0.05). After the intervention, there was an improved within-group change in the ROM, SPADI, LSST, and QOL in both the experimental and control groups. Conclusion: These findings suggest that a scapular stabilization exercise program using the PNF technique may be used as a possible treatment option for post-mastectomy women with breast cancer that aims to improve scapular position, shoulder ROM and function, and QOL.

작약섭취와 복합운동 중재가 중년여성의 혈청 면역글로불린 및 DHEAs에 미치는 효과에 관한 융합 연구 (Convergence Study on the Effects of Using Peony Drinking with Combined Exercise on Serum Immunoglobulin and DHEAs in Middle Aged Women)

  • 본 연구는 8주간 작약섭취와 복합운동을 통해 혈청 면역글로불린 및 DHEAs의 변화를 살펴보고자 40-50대 중년여성 15명을 대상으로 복합운동군, 통제군, 작약섭취와 복합운동군으로 무선 배정하며 8주간 주 3회 60분간 1RM 60~70%, HRmax 60~70%로 실시하였다. 작약섭취는 작약6g(백작약)을 107ml의 물을 넣고 고온으로 증탕 시키고 원액을 채취한 후 작약섭취와 복합운동군에 한하여 8주간 매일 아침 식전에 1봉(100ml)씩 섭취 하도록 하였다. 이와 같은 목적과 절차를 통해 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 첫째, 면역글로불린의 결과 8주간 복합 운동군과 작약섭취와 복합 운동군에서 증가를 보였으나 유의한 차이가 나타나지 않았다(p>.05). 둘째, DHEAs의 결과 8주간 복합 운동군과 작약섭취와 복합 운동군에서 증가를 보였으나 유의한 차이가 나타나지 않았다(p>.05). 따라서 본 연구에서 실시한 작약섭취와 복합운동 이 면역기능과 치매예방에 긍정적인 영향을 미치지 못하였다.

  • A 21-year-old healthy Korean man worked on a building construction site every day for almost 2 months and exercised every day for 1 or 2 hours after working hard. He felt dizziness, nausea, and experienced vomiting and body aches immediately after exercise and immediately took cold medicines including acetaminophen, cimetidine, bepotastine, and Codenal? complex for the common cold symptoms for 2 days because he was scheduled to participate in navy training at that time. He complained of severe trapezius pain and aches in his left calf 3 days after joining the Navy training. Testing revealed creatine phosphokinase (CPK) 6260 U/L, myogloblin 176 mcg/L in the urine, liver enzymes increased, and oliguria, suggesting rhabdomyolysis. He recovered with intravenous fluids without any complications.

퍼지 추론을 이용한 실내 운동 및 휴식 상황에서의 LED 감성조명 설계 (Design of a LED Emotional Lighting System for Indoor Exercise and Resting Situations using Fuzzy Inference)

  • 본 논문은 LED 조명을 이용한 실내 환경에서 사용자가 운동 및 휴식을 취할 때 퍼지 추론을 통하여 상황에 최적화된 LED 감성조명 알고리즘을 구현한다. 기존의 단순 색온도 제어보다 퍼지이론을 사용하여 복잡한 조건하에서 색상과 색온도를 사용자 환경에 맞게 LED 광원을 컨트롤 한다. 사용자의 행동에 따라 감성언어의 색상과 온도에 따른 색상의 배합을 통한 퍼지 추론 기반의 LED 감성조명 시스템을 설계한다. 그 결과 색상과 색온도가 사용자의 감성에 좋은 영향을 주어서 휴식 및 운동에 효과적인 감성조명을 나타낼 수 있을 것이다.

Comparison of Hip Extensor Muscles Activities According to Forward Trunk Lean Angles During Single-leg Deadlift

  • Background: Excessive hamstring (HS) activation due to the weakness of the gluteus maximus (GM) causes pain in the hip joint. A single-leg deadlift is a hip extensor exercise, especially GM, that includes functional movements in daily life and complex multi-joint training. In single-leg deadlift, the muscle activity depends on the forward trunk lean angle, and it's necessary to study which muscles are used dominantly depending on the angle. Objects: The purpose of this study was to compare the effect on the muscle activity of the GM and HS during single-leg deadlift according to different forward trunk lean angles and the ratio of the GM vs HS (GM/HS). Methods: Twenty-one healthy female participants were recruited. The muscles activities of the GM, HS and the GM/HS ratio were measured through electromyography during single-leg deadlift according to three condition of forward trunk lean angles (30°, 60°, and 90°). Results: The GM and HS activities significantly differed among three conditions (p < 0.05). GM/HS ratio was significantly higher at 30° and 60° of forward trunk lean compared to 90°. Moreover, the GM activity was significantly higher at 60° of forward trunk lean than at 30° (p < 0.05). Conclusion: The single-leg deadlift at 60° of forward trunk lean is a proper GM muscle strengthening exercise.

복합트레이닝이 비만남성의 염증지표와 homocysteine에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Complex Training on Inflammatory Markers and Homocysteine of Obese Men)

  • 본 연구는 30대 비만 남성을 대상으로 복합트레이닝 처치가 염증지표와 심혈관질환의 지표물질인 homocysteine에 미치는 영향을 규명하는데 목적이 있다. 본 연구의 대상자는 체지방률이 25% 이상인 30대 중반의 비만 남성(n=12)으로 의학적인 질환이 없고, 규칙적인 운동경험이 없는 자를 선정하였다. 본 연구의 목적을 달성하기 위하여 기본검사로 최대산소섭취량(VO2max)과 5가지 기구의 1RM을 측정하였고, 이 결과를 토대로 유산소운동과 중량운동으로 구성된 복합트레이닝을 8주간 실시하여 트레이닝 전과 후에 체구성(체중, 체지방, BMI)과 혈액 내 염증지표(IL-6, TNF-α, CRP) 및 homocysteine의 변화를 분석하였다. 그 결과, 8주간의 복합트레이닝은 체중, 체지방, BMI를 유의하게 감소시켰으며(p<0.01), 염증지표 CRP와 심혈관질환지표 homocysteine을 유의하게 감소시켰다(p<0.05). 따라서 8주간의 복합트레이닝 처치를 통해 체구성의 변화를 확인할 수 있었고, 이러한 변화가 염증지표와 심혈관질환지표에 긍정적인 영향을 미친 것으로 사료된다.

요실금환자의 물리치료에 관한 연구 (A Study on Physical Therapy of Incontinence Patients)

  • The 30 percent or more women who have urinary incontinence have some problem in contraction of perineal muscles. In fact. to increase the strength of perineal muscles, voluntary muscle contraction is more effective than electrical contraction. Electrical stimulation or bio feedback therapy is safe and effective therapy for Patients who have complex urinary incontinence. because these therapies can solve the problems of the voluntary perineal muscle contraction these therapies can help women to know to contract the perineal muscles effectively. The combined therapy ie. Electrical stimulation and bio feedback therapy with pelvic muscle training program or bladder drill can be considered as good treatment method. Pelvic floor muscle exercise is importance to make patient itself participate by making to be interested about exercise and by tacking motivations at therapy to themselves.

공동주택 부속 휘트니스센터의 이용현황 및 디자인 선호도 분석 - 휴게공간을 중심으로 - (The Analysis of Present Status and Residents' Design Preference on a Fitness Center in Apartment Complex - Focused on the Resting Space of Fitness Center -)

  • Community facilities in apartment complex have been developed through residents' needs for housing environmental amenities and social trend for 'Well-being' combined with marketing competition among construction companies. But community facilities and fitness centers which are in the initial stage of development are not well fit with residents' needs because the designers plan the community facilities without considering on residents' life-style and preference. This study investigates the present status of fitness center, and surveys the residents' preference for the proposed fitness center design. The result includes that fitness center users in apartment complex want a convenient and comfortable resting spaces similar level with those in fitness center of mixed-use residential building. A resting space provides opportunity that community members meet each other as well as they can rest after exercise. The result also shows that the fitness center users prefer wood floor and wall as interior finishing materials in exercising space and resting space, which users think, gives more comfortable and splendid feeling.

기구운동과 복합운동이 발목염좌 경험이 있는 태권도학과 학생의 발목 안정성에 미치는 효과 (The Effects of Board Training and Complex Training on Ankle Stability in Taekwondo Students with a History of Ankle Sprain)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to compare the effects of board training and complex training on ankle stability in taekwondo college students with a history of ankle sprain. Methods: Twenty-seven taekwondo college students were randomly assigned into a board training (BTG, n=9), complex training (CTG, n=9), or control groups (CG, n=9). BTG carried out disk and trampoline training 3 times a week for 8 weeks. CTG carried out resistive and plyometric training 3 times a week for 8 weeks. All subjects completed ankle stability test for static and dynamic balance in anterior/posterior and medial/lateral stability with New Balance System (BIODEX Medical System, USA). Results: There were no significant differences between three groups in ankle stability. Those who participated in BTG significantly improved static balance of left foot in anterior/posterior stability, and dynamic balance of both feet in mediolateral stability, but there were no change in CTG. Conclusion: Board training is more improved ankle stability in taekwondo college students with a history of ankle sprain than complex training.
