  • This paper presents a complete S-shape feed rate scheduling approach (CSFA) with confined jerk, acceleration and command feed rate for parametric tool path. For a Non-Uniform Rational B-Spline (NURBS) tool path, the critical points of the tool path where the radius of curvature reaches extreme values are found firstly. Then, the NURBS curve is split into several NURBS sub-curves or blocks by the critical points. A bidirectional scanning strategy with the limitations of chord error, normal/tangential acceleration/jerk and command feed rate is employed to make the feed rate at the junctions between different NURBS blocks continuous. To improve the efficiency of the feed rate scheduling, the NURBS block is classified into three types: short block, medium block and long block. The feed rate profile corresponding to each NURBS block is generated according to the start/end feed rates and the arc length of the block and the limitations of tangential acceleration/jerk. In addition, two compensation strategies are proposed to make the feed rate more continuous and the arc increment more precise. Once the feed rate profile is determined, a second-order Taylor's expansion interpolation method is applied to generate the position commands. Finally, experiments with two free-form NURBS curves are conducted to verify the applicability and accuracy of the proposed method.

  • Purpose: This study was conducted to identify the sociodemographic characteristics and health belief related to rotavirus vaccination behavior among mothers of infants. Methods: Data collection was performed through an on-line survey between 13 and 16 October, 2016, and the subjects targeted were 240 mothers with infants between the ages of 8 months and 12 months. The collected data were analyzed using $X^2$ test, Fisher's Exact test, ANOVA, and Logistic Regression with SPSS 23.0 program. Results: The complete rotavirus vaccination rate was 76.7%, the incomplete vaccination rate was 9.2%, and the non-vaccination rate was 14.2%. Factors associated with complete rotavirus vaccination were the mother's age (OR=3.306, 95% CI=1.087 to 10.054), the perceived benefits (OR=6.500, 95% CI=2.163 to 19.528) and the self-efficacy (OR=11.568, 95% CI=2.921 to 45.818), and approximately 40.8% of explanation power was observed. Conclusion: To increase the rotavirus vaccination rate, counseling and education by nurses should be performed to increase the self-efficacy and public awareness of the benefits of rotavirus vaccination for mothers with infants.

  • In this paper, we give a sharp estimate on the cardinality of the set generating the convex hull containing the image of harmonic maps with polynomial growth rate on a certain class of manifolds into a Cartan-Hadamard manifold with sectional curvature bounded by two negative constants. We also describe the asymptotic behavior of harmonic maps on a complete Riemannian manifold into a regular ball in terms of massive subsets, in the case when the space of bounded harmonic functions on the manifold is finite dimensional.

  • Purpose: To evaluate the hepatitis B vaccination program which has been conducted since 1980, Korea. Methods: This study was carry out self reported questionnaire and serologic test covering 2,072 elementary school students who were born between 1980 and 1987, selected by cluster sampling. The HBV serologic markers (HBsAg, Anti-HBs and Anti-HBc) were tested by radioimmunoassay (RIA). The contents of questionnaire include demographic data of students and parents, vaccination status, vaccination frequency, vaccination age, past history of mother's HBV test. Results: 1) The HBsAg positive rates by sex showed 3.7% for male and 2.7% for female, representing an average rate of 3.4%. The HBsAg positive rates by age group showed 5.6% for 13 years and l.5% for 6 years, representing a tendency of lowering rate as ages being younger. 2) The pre-natal HBV test rate was 10.2%, while post-natal HBV test rate was 42.5%. The test showed that the parents' educational level being higher than others, the pre- and post-natal HBV test showed higher rates. In case the fathers occupation being office worker, the post-natal HBV test showed a higher rate compared with other occupation. 3) Overall vaccination rate was 82.6%, complete vaccination rate 69.8%, booster injection rate 42.8%. The vaccination rate, complete vaccination rate and booster injection rate increased as the age being younger. If the educational level of parents were higher, the vaccination rate, complete vaccination rate and booster injection rate showed higher rates. Younger students showed younger vaccination age, and higher educational background of family showed younger vaccination ages. 4. With regard to positive rate of HBV markers by vaccination age, HBsAg and Anti-HBc positive rate showed higher degrees in the following order; preschool age (1-6 years), school age (6-13 years) and infancy (0-1 year). Anti-HBs positive rate was increased as the frequency of vaccination increased. Five years after initial complete vaccination, minimum protective rate was lowest, 69.6%.

  • Background : To find out effectiveness of multimodality treatments based on induction chemotherapy(CTx) in patients with clinical stage IIIA NSCLC Methods : From 1997 to 2002, 74 patients with clinical stage IIIA NSCLC underwent induction CTx at the hospital of Chungnam National University. Induction CTx included above two cycles of cisplatin-based regimens(ectoposide, gemcitabine, vinorelbine, or taxol) followed by tumor evaluation. In 30 complete resection group, additional 4500-5000cGy radiotherapy(RTx) was delivered in 15 patients with pathologic nodal metastasis. 29 out of 44 patients who were unresectable disease, refusal of operation, and incomplete resection were followed by 60-70Gy RTx in local treatment. Additional 1-3 cycle CTx were done in case of induction CTx responders in both local treatment groups. Results : Induction CTx response rate were 44.6%(complete remission 1.4% & partial response 43.2%) and there was no difference of response rate by regimens(p=0.506). After induction chemotherapy, only 33 out of resectable 55 ones(including initial resectable 37 patients) were performed by surgical treatment because of 13 refusal of surgery by themselves and 9 poor predicted reserve lung function. There were 30(40.5%) patients with complete resection, 2(2.6%) persons with incomplete resection, and 1(1.3%) person with open & closure. Response rate in 27 ones with chest RTx out of non-operation group was 4.8% CR and 11.9% PR. In complete resection group, relapse free interval was 13.6 months and 2 year recur rate was 52%. In non-complete resection(incomplete resection or non-operation) group, disease progression free interval was 11.2 months and 2 year disease progression rate was 66.7%. Median survival time of induction CTx 74 patients with IIIA NSCLC was 25.1months. When compared complete resection group with non-complete resection group, the median survival time was 31.7 and 23.4months(p=0.024) and the 2-year overall survival rate was 80% and 41%. In the complete resection group, adjuvant postoperative RTx subgroup significantly improved the 2-year local control rate(0% vs. 40%, p= 0.007) but did not significantly improve overall survival(32.2months vs. 34.9months, p=0.48). Conculusion : Induction CTx is a possible method in the multimodality treatments, especially followed by complete resection, but overall survival by any local treatment(surgical resection or RTx) was low. Additional studies should be needed to analysis data for appropriate patient selection, new chemotherapy regimens and the time when should RTx be initiated.

  • In this paper we consider the modified continual reassessment method in which a cohort consists of three patients. Simulation has been a main research tool in the investigation of CRM. In this paper we propose complete enumeration as an alternative of simulation. Using new method we show that the expected toxicity rate at the MTD converges to the target toxicity rate well as the sample size increases.

  • In this study, we investigated methods of quality check for digital basemaps and proposed effective methods of quality check. We used new statistical methods for quality control in order to carry out quality check for digital basemaps. We proposed 2-stage complete sampling and 2-stage cluster sampling method to improve present statistical methods of quality check(1-stage complete sampling method). We estimated error rate and number of omitted objects using simulated data about all delivered digital basemaps and estimated variances about it. We could determine confidence interval about error rate and number of omitted objects.

  • Turfgrass management had not been recognized as the subject to research until the social demand for turfgrass increased. This study was carried out to compare the effects of several complete fertilizers and ureaform(UF) with those of traditional fertilizers used for general agriculture. Complete fertilizers used in this study include Jandibiryo, Chojikwanri, Wonyebokbi and 18 - 18 - 18. Three exteriments were conducted in the established zoysiagrass field (over 5 years), in the recently established zoysiagrass field(1 years), and in the pots using artificially mixed media. In the established zoysiagrass, UF, Wonyebokbi, Chojikwanri and 18 - 18 - 18 resulted in higher growth rate, while Chojikkwanri and Jandibiryo showed better performance in the recently established zoysiagrass. Jandibiryo resulted in higher growth rate of zoysiagrass with the artificially mixed soil which is relatively infertile. Righer growth rates were maintained longer with UF, Jandidiryo, Chojikwanri than urea 18-18-18 and Wonyebokbi. Wonyebokbi had the characteristics of producing more stolons and rhyzomes than the other fertilizers.

  • In this paper we propose smooth nonparametric estimator of Mean Residual Life(MRL) based on a complete sample. This estimator is constructed using estimator of cumulative failure rate which is derived as the maximum likelihood estimate of cumulative failure rate in the class of distributions which have piecewise linear failure rate functions between each pair of observations. We derive the asymptotic properties of the our estimator. The proposed estimator is compared with previously known estimator by Monte Carlo study.
