Middle-ear barotrauma is a common problem reported by aircrew members and passengers. Studies have shown that 20~50% of passengers report ear complaints during the flight or after landing. Barotitis media is defined as an acute or chronic inflammation caused by a pressure differential between the tympanic cavity and the surrounding atmosphere. The Problems caused by otitis media or sinusitis of aircrew during landing and take-off can be a threat to aviation safety. Therefore, the aviation medical examiner should know about barotitis media of aircrews. In this paper, we aimed to learn what is barotitis media and how much it could affect aircrews. Also, we aimed to evaluate how barotitis media could make an impact on crews during flight, and how to manage these problems.

Governments intend to use the public warning system to deliver timely and accurate information using accessible communication technologies for protecting the population and reducing damage to life and property. In particular, many countries implement system interworking with smartphones to notify of disasters or emergencies. In Korea, since 2020, due to the influence of the coronavirus disease, frequent emergency text messages led people to turn off related notifications, and complaints for receiving irrelevant messages from nearby warning areas have increased. Therefore, technical improvements for issuing more accurate disaster information to a specific region should be devised through a geography-based emergency disaster message transmission service. We analyze development trends of public warning systems and service cases of geography-based emergency text transmission services in various countries.

Background and Objectives: To determine the efficacy of filling the external auditory meatus with 1% clotrimazole at a single visit for the treatment of otomycosis. Subjects and Methods: This prospective study included 40 patients who were referred to our clinic with complaints of ear itching, pain, and fullness, and were diagnosed with unilateral otomycosis. After cleaning the mycotic hyphae from the external auditory meatus, the ear canal was filled with 1% clotrimazole, using an intravenous catheter and syringe. The patients received follow-up examinations on post-treatment days 7, 15, and 45. Results: The follow-up otomicroscopic examinations revealed that 95% of the ear canals were entirely clean and that all symptoms had resolved. The post-treatment scores of pain, aural fullness and itching were significantly lower than the pre-treatment scores (p<0.01). Conclusions: Filling the external auditory meatus with 1% clotrimazole at a single visit is an easy, efficient, and cost-effective treatment for otomycosis. Additionally, high patient compliance makes this treatment superior to long-term topical therapy.

The purpose of the study is to derive maintenance items in dwelling unit of apartment after the liability period for defect security. In according with the Apartment Housing Management, the managers of apartment maintain facilities in public and develop a long-term repair plan. However, Apartment unit housing is a private area and is managed facilities individually by residents or owners. As the facility ages, it is necessary to derive items in dwelling unit of apartment that need to maintain performance. Therefore, this paper analyzed the history of repairing facilities through complaints about rental housing units.

Defects such as falling and cracking of tiles installed in the bathrooms of apartment houses are frequently occurring. Therefore, in order to solve this problem, the A/S cost of construction companies and consumer complaints are increasing. The causes of tile defects include problems such as the selection of tile adhesive and lack of adhesive strength, the carelessness of the installer, the base surface, and the absorption rate of the tile. Therefore, in this study, an adhesive construction method using tile adhesives with high resistance to deformation of floors and tiles was studied. In addition, the properties and construction methods of tile adhesives were evaluated.

Domestic residential buidling grading is currently comprised of 5 fields; sound-proofing, structure, ambient condition, living environment and fire-proofing. However, factors the take up most of the civil complaints are related to leakage, and waterproofing is not listed as part of the grading system. In particular, the Ministry of Land and Transport claims that the most crucial problems are leakage related in residential structures. Therefore, this study proposes to provide such grading system for waterproofing by AHP methodology based on waterproofing application locations in residential structures.

Recently, interest in OSC(Off Site Construction) is increasing due to the trend of a decrease in skilled workers and an increase in labor costs. In this regard, PC(Precast Concrete) is being reviewed for apartments, the most common type of housing in Korea. As the biggest concern for PC apartment houses, civil complaints such as inter-floor noise and leakage were presented. In this study, the details of the joints were reviewed based on the past cases of PC apartments, and the details of the recently constructed or planned PC apartments were investigated. Through this, the leakage path in the past was analyzed through the existing research literature and data, and a discussion was conducted on the direction for a detailed proposal of an improved joint in the future.

Recently, particulate matter(PM) caused by internal factors such as industrialization and urbanization as well as external factors such as Asian dust is a serious problem in Korea. In particular, while the emission due to construction appears to be very serious among the internal factors, it is necessary to manage PM in consideration of the characteristics of construction sites. Accordingly, in this study, a PM management system suitable for construction sites was developed to reduce civil complaints caused by PM and to minimize damage to field workers and nearby residents by supporting the fine dust management system of the state and local governments. The factors to be considered when measuring PM due to the specificity of construction sites were considered, and the system components were developed based on the considerations. As a result, an IoT based construction site PM monitoring system (CPMS) that integrates each component was established.

Many financial service organizations use various types of penalties (e.g., late payment fee, overdraft fee), often inflicting customer complaints and, in extreme cases, attrition. This study examines how customers evaluate penalties using concepts from attribution theory and literatures of social justice and customer satisfaction/dissatisfaction. The study hypothesizes that both cognitive (i.e., attribution, perceived fairness, disconfirmation) and affective (i.e., emotion) responses influence customer's penalty judgment and tests the effect of moderation between attribution and perceived fairness on penalty judgment. The study uses a cross sectional survey design and collects data using the critical incident technique. The results show that attributions have significant moderating effects on the relationship between perceived fairness and dissatisfaction with the penalty and that perceived fairness, emotion, and attribution have a significant influence on penalty evaluation. The study provides discussion of the findings and managerial implications.
