Channel Efficiency through Compensation Plans (보상안을 통한 채널 효율성에 관한 연구)

  • We study how to determine backorder cost at the warehouse in a one-warehouse/N-retailer distribution system such that channel efficiency (minimizing total system costs) is improved. We define backorder costs as compensation that the warehouse pays to the retailer for the number or orders delayed due to stockout at the warehouse. We answer two questions : (1) "Should the warehouse compensate for his backorder\ulcorner" and (2) "Is there any equilibrium for both the warehouse and retailer while they are seeking for their own profits\ulcorner" We show that : (1) "The warehouse should pay backorder costs for the sake of channel efficiency." and (2) "There exists an equilibrium that is infiuenced by the amount of compensation." First, we prove the existence of a mutually acceptable equilibrium for both the warehouse and the retailer, which is different from Nash equilibrium because they independently maximize their respective profits with incomplete information about each other. Second, we prove that the equilibrium moves to a point such that channel efficiency is improved if the warehouse compensates the retailers for his backorders. We show the existence of an optimal compensation that minimizes total system costs. Third, we show that the amount of optimal compensation increases as the ratio of mean lead time for the warehouse to that for the retailer increases.ouse to that for the retailer increases.

  • The purpose of this paper is to develop a new maximum power point tracking(MPPT) using fuzzy set theory for air conditioning system. Fuzzy algorithm based on linguistic rules describing the operator's control strategy is applied to control step-up chopper for MPPT. Fuzzy algorithm is applied to control boost MPPT converter by temperature compensation effect with 8 bit single chip 8051 microcontroller. In this paper, temperature compensation(Becom Transducer : pf-T type) range is $-40^{\circ}C{\sim}+100^{\circ}C$.

  • A key component for autonomous mobile robot is to localize ifself. In this paper we suggest a vision-based localization and compensation of robot's location using ultrasound. Mobile robot travels along wall and searches each feature in indoor environment and transformed absolute coordinates of actuality environment using these points and builds a map. And we obtain information of the environment because mobile robot travels along wall. Localzation search robot's location candidate point by ultrasound and decide position among candidate point by features matching.

  • In this paper, we explain the operation scheme and fixed-point design method of DFE (Digital Front End), which performs DC offset compensation, automatic frequency control, and automatic gain control over the input signal to the UE (User Equipment) receiver of IEEE 802.16e OFDMA-TDD system. Then, we analyze the performance of DFE under ITU-R M. 1225 Veh-A 60km/h channel environment. To optimize the fixed-point design of DFE, we reduce the number of bit resulted from calculation without performance degradation, leading to the decreased complexity of the operation in H/W, and design the Loop filter with considering trade-off between the Acquisition time and the Stability.

  • An improved MPPT converter with current compensation method for small-scaled PV-applications is presented in this paper. The proposed method implements maximum power point tracking (MPPT) by variable reference current which is continuously changed during one sampling period. Therefore, the Power transferred to the load is increased above 9% by the proposed MPPT converter with current compensation method. As a result, the utilization efficiency of Photovoltaic (PV)-panel can be increased. In addition, as it doesn't use digital signal processor (DSP), this MPPT method has the merits of both a cost efficiency and a simple control circuit design. Therefore, it is considered that the proposed MPPT method is proper to low power, low cost PV-applications. The concept and control principles of the proposed Un moth()d are explained in detail and its validity of the proposed method is verified through several simulated results.

  • In this paper, a new current controller with the compensation of an unbalance and distorted grid voltages has been proposed. Generally, in the three-phase power system, single phase or nonlinear loads can be connected with the 3 phase linear load simultaneously on the same point of common coupling. Therefore, The source voltage unbalance and distortion problem can be occurred. Under these unbalance and distorted grid voltage conditions, the input current of 3 phase PWM rectifiers also have unbalance and distortion. In this paper, a current controller with the simple Model Reference Adaptive System based unbalance and distorted voltages observer is proposed to get a sinusoidal input current. The performance of the proposed algorithm is verified through the simulation and the experiment.

  • This paper deals with the performance comparison of adaptive equalization algorithm, CMA and MMA, that is used for the minimization of the distortion and noise effect in the communication channel at receiver.. We confirmed the application possibilities of the point to point or point to multipoint digital transmission technologies by analyzing the performance of MMA which is changing the error function of CMA that is the possible algorithm of fast equalization by relatively simple arithmatic computation compared to the other method. In CMA algorithm, we need the PLL for the amplitude compensation only and not possible to phase compensation inherently. But in MMA algorithm, we confired that the amplitude and phase of received signal can be compensated by computer simulation. For the comparison of algorithm, we used the essential performance index, convergence characteristics and residual isi. The result of performance comparison of algorithms, the MMA has good in convergence characteristic and the CMA has good in residual isi that is used for the amplitude compensation.

Changes of Characteristics Related to Photosynthesis in Synurus deltoides under Different Shading Treatments (차광처리에 따른 수리취의 광합성 관련 특성 변화)

  • This study was conducted to investigate the changes of chlorophyll contents, chlorophyll fluorescence, photosynthetic parameters, and leaf growth of Synurus deltoides under different shading treatments. S. deltoides was grown under non-treated (full sunlight) and three different shading conditions (Shaded 88~93%, 65~75%, and 45%~55%). Light compensation point ($L_{comp}$), dark respiration ($D_{resp}$), maximum photosynthesis rate ($Pn_{max}$), photo respiration rate ($P_{resp}$), carboxylation efficiency ($\Phi_{carb}$), and photochemical efficiency were decreased with increasing shading level; However, $CO_2$ compensation point ($CO_{2\;comp}$), total chlorophyll content, and specific leaf area (SLA) were shown the opposite trend. S. deltoides under 88~93% treatment showed the lowest photosynthetic activity such as maximum photosynthetic rate ($Pn_{max}$), photochemical efficiency, and $CO_2$ compensation point ($CO_{2\;comp}$). Therefore, photosynthetic activity will be sharply decreased with a long period of 8~12% of full sunlight. With the shading level decreased, carotenoid content and non-photochemical fluorescence quenching (NPQ) increased to prevent excessive light damage. This result suggested that growth and physiology of S. deltoides adapted to high light intensity through regulating its internal mechanism.

  • There are many unbalanced models such as helicopter's rotor blades, small-sized precision motor in industrial applications. In the real products, their gravity center usually does not accord with the desired gravity center. If the deviation is large between them, it can be a major cause of vibration and noise as the part of model rotate. Therefore the gravity center in the rotational parts should be controlled properly because of static and dynamic balancing of the parts. In the research, the rotor blade of unmanned helicopter has been selected to obtain the high quality of balancing. In order to achieve the purpose, measuring system has been developed. In the system applied principle is three point weighting method, which is one of the Multiple-point Weighting Method. It has circle fitting for compensation of machining error, after measuring the values. From this study, the results showed that the proposed measurement procedure gives reliable and precise gravity center.
