  • Comparative bioavailability of two tablet dosage forms of ofloxacin (either as Hoechst (India) or Ranbaxy preparation ) was investigated. In a randomized cross-over study, eitht healthy human volunteers received single 200 mg dose of film coated ofloxacin in fasting state. The concentration of ofloxacin in the collected saliva and serum samples were measured by high performance liquid chromatography. No significant difference in bioavailability of both preparations was judged from various serum and seliva pharmacokinetic parameters such as peak concentration, time to peak concentration and are under the curves. Intersubject variation was also found to be insignificant.

  • Objectives : The Comparative Study Of The Eight Extra Meridians And The Primitive Meridians Will Improve The Understanding Of The Relationship Between Meridians And The Eight Extra Meridians, Which Ultimately Will illuminate The Origins Of Meridians. Methods Books From The Pre-Han And Han Dynasty, As Well As Publications Concerning Meridians And The Eight Extra Meridians Were Utilized. Results : Pathways Of The Eight Extra Meridians And The Primitive Meridians Travel Independently Without Connection With Other Meridians, And Have No Obvious Link With The Five Vital Organs And The Six Viscera. Additionally, The Terminology Of Both Meridians Is Similar, And Travel From Bottom To Top. Conclusion : The Eight Extra Meridians Have Several Similarities With The Primitive Meridians. Therefore, The Eight Extra Meridians May Be An Important Area To Investigate In The Future.

  • Due to the proliferation of data being exchanged and the increase of dependency on this data for critical decision-making, it has become imperative to ensure the trustworthiness of the data at the receiving end in order to obtain reliable results. Data provenance, the derivation history of data, is a useful tool for evaluating the trustworthiness of data. Various frameworks have been proposed to evaluate the trustworthiness of data based on data provenance. In this paper, we briefly review a history of these frameworks for evaluating the trustworthiness of data and present an overview of some prominent state-of-the-art evaluation frameworks. Moreover, we provide a comparative analysis of two key frameworks by evaluating various aspects in an executional environment. Our analysis points to various open research issues and provides an understanding of the functionalities of the frameworks that are used to evaluate the trustworthiness of data.

  • In this paper, a comparative study is presented to evaluate the addition architecture of the high-speed checksum module in TCP/IP processing. In order to speed up TCP/IP processing, H/W implementation offers concurrent and parallel processing to yield high speed computation, with respect to S/W implementation. This research aims at comparing two addition architectures of checksum module, which is the major botteleneck in TCP/IP processing. The 16-bit and 8-bit byte-by-byte addition architecture are implemented by the full custom design, and compared, in analytical and experimental manner, from standpoint of space and performance. For LG $0.6\mu\textrm{m}$ TLM process, the 8-bit addition implementation requires the area, 1.3 times larger than the 16-bit one, and it operates at 80MHz while the 16-bit one runs by 66MHz.

  • This empirical research aimed to identify and compare key success factors in fashion marketing education in Korea as well as those in U.S.A. Employing a couple of statistical methods (multiple regression and factor analysis) on survey data, it was found that the decisive factors in the fashion marketing education differed between two countries. mainly attributable to the difference of goals in the education or to the job orientation of students. Surprisingly it was also found that no educational methods significantly affected the educational performance in both countries, implying that the so called constructivistic ways of leaching/learning was not so effective as expected. In order to improve educational performance in Korea, as far as fashion marketing is concerned, universities needed to increase the class-hours for the course, to provide more supportive educational environment, and to let the instructors used computer/internet facilities for more diverse purposes than now.

  • Concern over the negative environmental impacts associated with the production, use and End-of-Life(EoL) of cellular phones is particularly high due to large production volumes and characteristically short time scales of technological and stylistic obsolescence. Therefore we have to research the environment-friendly technologies and the recycling methods. This paper introduces an improvement of cellular phone remanufacturing processes and develops the Directive of DFE(Design for Environment) for the remanufacturing of a cellular phone. Then We discuss the results of the comparative evaluations.

  • A variety of approaches on performance evaluation modeling have appeared in the technical literature for flexible manufacturing systems(FMS) which can be evaluated only through computer simulation. This study represents a comparative approach for FMS performance evaluation modeling based on reliability, availability and maintainability, and life cycle cost. The methodology proposed in this research includes the following three-step generative approaches. First, a static model to find the initial system configuration is considered under the assumption that the system availability is given as one (failure and maintenance are not considered), and in second step, a stochastic simulation is proposed to serve as a performance evaluation model for FMS with stochastic failure and repair time. In the last step, we developed a simulation modeling using a simulator, FACTOR/AIM to consider a variety of performance factors and dynamic behavior of FMS. Also the applicability and validity of the proposed approaches has been tested and compared through the results of a sample problem using computer programs and procedures developed in each step.

  • In this paper, for the development of a safe and reliable DC home appliance suitable for DC home power supply system, we classified a number of inherent problems with help of the comparative analysis of existing AC and new DC home appliance. Several new technical problems of DC home appliances are mainly linked to the DC transient state. Among them, this paper concentrates on start-up inrush current problem, uni-polarity problem, and heavy DC load control problem. And to address these problems, we herein present an implementation of robust safety circuits for DC home appliances. Specifically, we investigate several multi-circuit countermeasures and select the best among them through comparative evaluation, based on theoretical, simulational, and experimental results.

  • Origin verification is regarded most essential for FTA performance administration. This administration is divided into direct and indirect system where Korea has adapted indirect system to Korea-EU FTA while direct system to Korea-USA FTA. A comparative analysis was conducted on the system of origin verification and provisions contained in preferential tariff law of each countries. The study finds that Korean origin verification system is a bit lack of procedural provision resulting in less protection of domestic trader's rights. Another point is that Korean Customs Authority is weak, in respect of organization and man power, to protect illegal bilateral tariff application by counter part FTA countries. And therefore this study suggests the policy makers to arrange detailed FTA origin verification procedures with earliest meeting with counter part FTA countries, and further stress that make up of organization and man power for origin verification in a timely manner.

  • This paper reviews the differences between the selected village groves and the selected roadside groves. In Chonbuk province, the village groves were principally found in the east mountainous region and roadside groves were principally found in the west low-sloped region. They were located in the place of good accessibility and good view. The differrence between the village groves and roadside groves was considerately large in the aspect of physical, socio-behavioral condition and vegetation structure. Both were contrasted in many points. The results resolve itself into Table 2, 4, 6. This research is useful in finding the characters of the both groves and in preparing the conservation and management plan of the groves through comparative review.
