COVID-19 has challenged the pandemic response capability of many countries. Many governments around the world have imposed strict quarantine measures and border control to slow the spread of the virus. In the Philippines, the longest community quarantine has been imposed in the National Capital Region (NCR). However, the effectiveness of such measures is dependent on the cooperation of the public. The objective of this study was to gain an understanding of the knowledge, attitudes, and practices (KAP) of selected employees in the NCR. An online survey was conducted June 4-18, 2020, with 100 employed people living in the NCR. Frequencies and percentages were computed to describe the respondents' answers, and the Kruskal-Wallis test was used to determine the differences in the respondents' KAP levels according to selected demographic characteristics. Of those surveyed, 92% have a high knowledge of COVID-19. The respondents have a positive attitude toward the need for health education and the seriousness of COVID-19, as well as stricter measures against the pandemic, but are less positive in terms of how the government is responding to the pandemic. They also follow strict measures that will prevent the further spread of the virus. The results highlight the respondents' favorability of stricter government measures to control the spread of COVID-19, including the reimposition of an enhanced community quarantine in the NCR.
This exploratory study investigated the software programs utilized by clinical dietitians and their perceptions on the use of information technology. The study focused on the use of specialized software for dietetics, general software for any office use and the Internet. A self-administered survey was used to collect data from clinical dietitians identified in the Kentucky Dietetic Association Directory 2003-2004. The survey was conducted in March through April, 2004. A total of 22 responses were collected, which yielded a response rate of $68\%$. Findings suggest that computer use has become a routine for optimal clinical practice ; major specialized software programs are used for nutrition assessment, nutrition analysis and menu development. Use of specialized software appears to be unassociated with dietitians' age and years of experience ; however, the associations are indicated between use of specialized software and education level as well as their specialty ; word processing and spreadsheet are the major general software used. Internet is used mainly for information search and communication. Respondents perceived that overall work efficiency and productivity significantly increased with computer use. The complexity of software is the major barrier encountered so training is the most needed support by the department. Strategic promotion on the use of specialized software should be targeted to the management team of the hospitals/facilities.
This study was aimed at examine eating behavior and food preferences of children in preschool nursery facilities. A survey was conducted on parents using questionnaires including general characteristics, eating behavior, and food habits at home and food preferences of children in 6 nursery facilities. The children involved in this study were 150 boys and 154 girls, aged 1 to 7 years old. Sixty three percent(187 children) of the children were on 'regular' meal times, and 37.0%(110 children) were on 'irregular' meal times. The major reason for their irregular meal times were 'their' concentration on other tasks'(26.6%) and 'no appetite'(25.5%). The meal eaten best by children was 'dinner' while that eaten worst was 'breakfast'. The major type of their eating habit problem was 'unbalanced diet'(62.1%), and their mothers' response to the unbalanced diet was 'trying to persuade the child'(71.6%). The number of snacks at home was one or twice a day(97.3%), and 'preference'(67.8%) was the main reason for selecting particular snacks. Their preferred staple foods were 'cooked rice with meat & vegetables and Chinese noodles', and 'noodles with bean sauce', and their preferred soup was 'seaweed soup' Also, their most preferred meat dishes were 'fried chicken' and 'thin sliced barbecued beef. Children preferred side dishes with animal foods to those with vegetable foods. Since children liked mixed dishes, it seems desirable to introduce foods which children dislike as ingredients in mixed dishes.
This study addresses the following questions : how does organization citizenship behavior(OCB) affect knowledge contribution in online communities? does the antecedents of OCB, cohesiveness and affection similarity, influence knowledge contribution in online communities? In order to test our hypotheses with an empirical study, we have conducted a survey which resulted in 192 valid response in the final sample. The PLS analysis results indicate that OCB affects knowledge contribution and coherence and affection similarity of online community users have influence on OCB. Further, knowledge contribution is influenced by community users' affection similarity. Practical implications of these findings and future research implications are also discussed.
Objectives: This study examined the perception of the vegan trend of millennials and their future needs. Methods: This study was conducted online from June 21, 2021, to July 15, 2021, targeting 425 adult men and women born between 1980 and 2000. The contents of the survey were divided into four categories: general information, awareness of vegetables, awareness of vegan trends, and future needs for vegan trends. Results: Most respondents recognized the importance of eating vegetables and perceived vegetarianism and veganism as a lifestyle. Regarding the perception of the vegan trend, the highest response rate was 'The vegan trend is to be satisfied with my life regardless of other people', while the lowest response rate was 'The vegan trend is only a temporary fad'. The reasons for purchasing vegan products with high response rates were 'interest in the earth and environment', 'protection of animal rights', and 'thinking about health'. The type of vegan product wanted in the future was delicious food, and convenience level was in the order of 'completely cooked', 'half-cooked', and 'pre-processed'. Among the sustainable vegetarian types that millennials responded, 'semi-vegetarian', which can consume most animal products excluding red meat, showed the highest response rate. Conclusions: The positive perceptions about vegetables are expected to increase. Efforts should be made to develop convenient meals using vegetables and provide reasonable prices to expand vegetable intake.
With the rise in national GNP, there has been a surge in people requiring adequate housing. The most who are in need of adequate housing are fresh graduates who have entered the job market, and newly-wed couples. Given the current economic condition it is difficult for young people and newly-wed couples to find reasonably affordable accommodations. In response to this, the government is trying to formulate a new policy, with the aim of helping young married couples find decent accommodation in response to the housing shortage. Research was performed last July with the aim of looking at the differences between the newlyweds' expectation of the idealistic housing and conditions. Questionnaires were distributed to undergraduate and postgraduate research students to find out their requirements. The questionnaire investigated the social background and the condition of the inhabited area; housing type internal facilities; the space required for housing; interior finishing, and storage facilities. The survey results were analyzed using SPSS and found that the design of small residential areas, the space requirements of more diversified individualized areas were the most important concerns for undergraduate and postgraduate research students. From the study we hope this will form a foundation for the design of the future housing social stratum. It is hoped that the current results and conclusions of this survey will be of help for the korean community to provide a direction and a positive input in the future design of newly married housing.
Purpose: To provide clear estimates of the adoption and use of electronic nursing records (ENRs) with standard terminology in Korea and identification of the scope and use as well as perceived or potential benefits of ENRs. Methods: A survey was done of 733 hospitals at three levels: tertiary advanced hospitals, general hospitals, and community hospitals. After performing a literature review a modified version of an existing survey tool was used for 2 months in 2012. The collected information related to EHR functionality and coverage of nursing documentation and nursing process, application of standard terminology, and perceived satisfaction and benefits of ENRs. Results: The response rate was 39.4% (289/733), and 202 hospitals (70.1%, 95% CI64.8~75.5%) of the respondents had ENR systems (82.5% of tertiary hospitals, 66.7% of general hospitals, and 70.1% of community hospitals). Out of these hospitals less than 10% had ENRs fully covering nursing documentation. The adoption rate of standard terminology was 55%, and hospital satisfaction with ENRs was 70%. But personalized care was identified as needing improvement in ENRs. Conclusion: The ENR adoption rate was high but there are many potential opportunities for improving ENR systems in terms of the data standardization and personalized care.
Objectives: The objective of this study was to identify factors associated with adolescent obesity, as well as any new factors that correlated with a change in the rate of obesity over time. Methods: The study used 5-yearly data collected by the Korea Youth Risk Behavior Survey starting from the year 2006 up until 2021 (data from 2nd, 7th, 11th, and 17th surveys were analyzed). Factors such as demographics, dietary factors, health behavioral factors, and mental health factors were studied. All data were analyzed using IBM SPSS 27.0, employing chi-square tests and multiple logistic regression analysis. Results: This study included data from a total of 255,200 participants. Factors contributing to obesity varied with time. Over the survey duration of 15 years, low academic achievement, parents with low levels of education, low frequency of fruit consumption, low frequency of fast food intake, long periods of being seated, and high levels of stress were significantly associated with a high rate of obesity. Factors that showed a new correlation with an increase in obesity rates included living with single parents, low frequency of muscle strengthening exercises, and experiencing intense sadness and despair in the past year. Factors that were correlated with a change in obesity rates over time included household economic status, frequency of carbonated beverage consumption, frequency of intense physical activity, and frequency of alcohol consumption. Breakfast intake and smoking were not significantly associated with obesity rates in the 15-year period. Conclusions: While several factors associated with obesity remained consistent over time, several new factors have emerged in response to social, economic, and environmental changes contributed to a change in obesity rate over time. Therefore, to prevent and manage adolescent obesity, continuous research into the new emergent factors contributing to obesity is needed.
"Purpose of this study was to investigate influence on preference of cohousing (eg. intention to spread and intention to move in cohousing) according to sense of community by married people residing in Seoul and its outskirts. Research method used for this study was a social survey. Respondents were 214 people by accidential sampling. The collected data were analyzed by SPSS 12.0 program using frequency, mean, average, t-test, one-way ANOVA, Duncan's Multiple Range test and Multiple Regression. Findings of this study were as follows. 1) Though respondents took part in interaction meetings rarely, they took part more often in meetings for health issue, leisure and hobby. Members of meetings were mostly job colleagues. 2) The respondents were interested in meetings for exchange of used stuffs, and children and the youth program most. It was revealed that the group taking part in meetings more often have higher sense of community than others. 3) Respondents who were older, who have been living longer in the same town had higher sense of community as well as closer interaction with neighbors than others. 4) As respondents showed positive response about preference of cohousing, there was a difference between intention to spread and intention to move in cohousing. While women, more educated, less income, and higher sense of community groups showed higher intention to spread cohousing, home owner and higher sense of community groups showed higher intention to move in cohousing.

Degree of ideal relationships with neighbors, they think, were greeting and chatting as well as communication about issues on child-care, education for children, offense-prevention and safety. Although respondents were interested in community life and in interaction with their neighbors, they did not build up communal society due to lack of a sense of belonging in their living areas. While respondents showed positive response about preference of cohousing, there were difference between intention to spread of cohousing and intention to move in cohousing. As a result of this study, the stronger sense of community in housing life meant the more interests in thoughts to spread and to move in cohousing. Therefore, in order to increase sense of community in cohousing, the plan of various communication programs that enables frequent interaction among neighbors is needed. Also, in order to spread cohousing in Korea, promotion of cohousing community and cognitions about it are the most needed.
