소방공무원의 사회적 자본이 주관적 행복감에 미치는 영향에 관한 융합연구 (The Convergence Study on the Effects of Social Captical on Subjective Happiness of Firefighters)

  • 본 연구는 소방공무원의 사회적 자본이 주관적 행복감에 미치는 영향을 알아보기 위하여 시행된 연구이다. 연구의 조사기간은 2017년 6월12일부터 8월25일까지 진행되었으며, 연구가설을 검정하기 위해 경기지역 소방공무원 351명을 대상으로 설문조사한 내용을 바탕으로 기술통계분석, t-검증, 위계적 회귀분석을 실시하였다. 연구결과, 소방공무원의 사회적 자본의 하위변인 중 네트워크(${\beta}=.315$, p<.001), 신뢰(${\beta}=.293$, p<.01), 협력(${\beta}=.22^{\circ}$, p<.01)이 주관적 행복감에 유의미한 영향을 미치는 것으로 조사되었다. 본 연구결과를 바탕으로 소방공무원의 행복감 증진을 위해서는 조직 내 신뢰증진을 위한 노력, 소방조직 간 소통의 통로로서 공식적 네트워크의 활성화를 위한 정책적 지원, 지역사회에 대한 관심과 봉사활동 등의 비공식적 네트워크 활성화와 조직의 정책과 제도 운영에 있어서 투명성 확립 등 사회적 자본을 강화하기 위한 다양한 대안이 필요함을 제안하였다.

Evaporative Stress Index (ESI)를 활용한 북한의 위성영상기반 농업가뭄 평가 (Satellite-based Evaporative Stress Index (ESI) as an Indicator of Agricultural Drought in North Korea)

  • North Korea has frequently suffered from extreme agricultural crop droughts, which have led to food shortages, according to the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO). The increasing frequency of extreme droughts, due to global warming and climate change, has increased the importance of enhancing the national capacity for drought management. Historically, a meteorological drought index based on data collected from weather stations has been widely used. But it has limitations in terms of the distribution of weather stations and the spatial pattern of drought impacts. Satellite-based data can be obtained with the same accuracy and at regular intervals, and is useful for long-term change analysis and environmental monitoring and wide area access in time and space. The Evaporative Stress Index (ESI), a satellite-based drought index using the ratio of potential and actual evaporation, is being used to detect drought response as a index of the droughts occurring rapidly over short periods of time. It is more accurate and provides faster analysis of drought conditions compared to the Standardized Precipitation Index (SPI), and the Palmer Drought Severity Index (PDSI). In this study, we analyze drought events during 2015-2017 in North Korea using the ESI satellite-based drought index to determine drought response by comparing with it with the SPI and SPEI drought indices.

신규 농촌지도사의 직무교육이 조직몰입에 미치는 영향 - 조직사회화를 매개로 - (The Effects of Job Education on Organizational Commitment of New Extensionist - Focus on Meditating Role of Organizational Socialization -)

  • The study aims to examine the effects of job education on organizational socialization of new extensionist who is working in extension organization. The subjects were 425 people and selected nationwide. The research model consisted of organizational socialization strategy as an independent variable, organizational socialization as a mediator, and organizational commitment as a dependent variable. The research hypothesis was com posed of three item s and different analysis methods were used for each research problem. The main analytical methods were descriptive statistics, multiple regression analysis, and hierarchical regression analysis. The results of the study are as follows. Firstly, the degree of organizational socialization was higher in males and females, in higher education, and in social workers than in non-males. Secondly, in the relationship between organizational socialization strategy and organizational socialization, job education significantly explained interpersonal relationship, organizational goal value, and work efficiency. Thirdly, job education has a statistically significant effectiveness on organizational commitment. Fourthly, in the relationship between job education and organizational commitment, organizational socialization variables such as interpersonal relationship, organizational goal value, and work efficiency were found to do a partial mediating roles.

정신장애인의 공공후견서비스 활동 경험과 과제 -권익옹호의 관점에서 (Experience and Task of Public Guardianship Service Activity for the mentally disabled -in Perspectives of advocacy)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 정신장애인의 공공후견서비스 사업이 당사자의 의사결정을 지원하고 권익옹호를 하는 제도로서 역할을 하고 있는지 그 경험과 과제를 탐구하는 것이다. 연구방법은 Strauss와 Corbin(1998)의 근거이론을 이용하여 공공 후견법인 후견업무 실무자 11명을 대상으로 전문가인터뷰를 실시하고, 과정분석과, 유형분석 등을 통해 실천모형을 제시하였다. 연구결과로는 정신장애인의 공공후견서비스를 통해, 후견의 권리옹호의 가능성과 시설의 긍정적인 태도변화 및 정신장애인의 권리회복을 위한 방향성 확립 등이 도출되었다. 공공후견법인 종사자들은 후견인에 대한 과도한 권한 부여나 업무 과정에서의 여러 어려움을 경험하지만 정신장애인들의 권리를 옹호하고 자기결정권을 지원할 수 있는 경험을 하였다. 본 연구를 통해 후견서비스의 필요성과 확대의 당위성을 제시하였다.

가족처럼 살아가는 쪽방촌 알코올 의존자들의 일상 탐구: '관계'와 '유대감'을 중심으로 (A Study on Alcoholics Living like a Family in the Jokbang Village: Focusing on 'Relationship' and 'Emotional Bond')

  • 본 연구에서는 '알코올 의존 노숙인을 위한 사회복지적 지원의 핵심은 가족을 대체할 만한 영향력 있는 관계'일 수 있다는 문제의식을 바탕으로, 중림동 쪽방촌 일대에서 알코올 의존 노숙인을 지원하는 'H-공동체'의 사례를 스프레들리가 제시한 문화기술지 방식으로 탐색하였다. 연구결과 알코올 의존자들은 H-공동체를 중심으로 '가족을 대체할만한 관계'를 맺고 있었으며, 그 속에서 '정서적 유대감'을 형성하고 있었다. 그리고, 이는 '큰 정은 없어도 잔정으로 살아가기'라는 문화적 주제로 나타났다. 하지만, 그 관계와 유대감 정도는 다르게 나타났으며, 이는 각자의 생애과정과 건강, 나이, 경제 상황과 무관하지 않았다. 논의에서는 이 같은 차이를 '가족을 대체할만한 관계', '정서적 유대감', '참여' 정도를 통해 유형화시키고 논점으로 제안하였다. 결론에서는 연구결과를 바탕으로 알코올 의존 노숙인에게 필요한 함의를 제시하고 제언을 하였다.

Investigating Non-Laboratory Variables to Predict Diabetic and Prediabetic Patients from Electronic Medical Records Using Machine Learning

  • Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is one of common chronic diseases leading to severe health complications that may cause death. The disease influences individuals, community, and the government due to the continuous monitoring, lifelong commitment, and the cost of treatment. The World Health Organization (WHO) considers Saudi Arabia as one of the top 10 countries in diabetes prevalence across the world. Since most of the medical services are provided by the government, the cost of the treatment in terms of hospitals and clinical visits and lab tests represents a real burden due to the large scale of the disease. The ability to predict the diabetic status of a patient without the laboratory tests by performing screening based on some personal features can lessen the health and economic burden caused by diabetes alone. The goal of this paper is to investigate the prediction of diabetic and prediabetic patients by considering factors other than the laboratory tests, as required by physicians in general. With the data obtained from local hospitals, medical records were processed to obtain a dataset that classified patients into three classes: diabetic, prediabetic, and non-diabetic. After applying three machine learning algorithms, we established good performance for accuracy, precision, and recall of the models on the dataset. Further analysis was performed on the data to identify important non-laboratory variables related to the patients for diabetes classification. The importance of five variables (gender, physical activity level, hypertension, BMI, and age) from the person's basic health data were investigated to find their contribution to the state of a patient being diabetic, prediabetic or normal. Our analysis presented great agreement with the risk factors of diabetes and prediabetes stated by the American Diabetes Association (ADA) and other health institutions worldwide. We conclude that by performing class-specific analysis of the disease, important factors specific to Saudi population can be identified, whose management can result in controlling the disease. We also provide some recommendations learnt from this research.

Frequency of anemia and micronutrient deficiency among children with cleft lip and palate: a single-center cross-sectional study from Uttarakhand, India

  • Background: Children with cleft lip and/or palate can be undernourished due to feeding difficulties after birth. A vicious cycle ensues where malnutrition and low body weight precludes the child from having the corrective surgery, in the absence of which the child fails to gain weight. This study aimed to identify the proportion of malnutrition, including the deficiency of major micronutrients, namely iron, folate and vitamin B12, in children with cleft lip and/or palate and thus help in finding out what nutritional interventions can improve the scenario for these children. Methods: All children less than 5 years with cleft lip and/or cleft palate attending our institute were included. On their first visit, following were recorded: demographic data, assessment of malnutrition, investigations: complete blood count and peripheral blood film examination; serum albumin, ferritin, iron, folate, and vitamin B12 levels. Results: Eighty-one children with cleft lip and/or palate were included. Mean age was 25.37±21.49 months (range, 3-60 months). In 53% of children suffered from moderate to severe wasting, according to World Health Organization (WHO) classification. Iron deficiency state was found in 91.6% of children. In 35.80% of children had vitamin B12 deficiency and 23.45% had folate deficiency. No correlation was found between iron deficiency and the type of deformity. Conclusion: Iron deficiency state is almost universally present in children with cleft lip and palate. Thus, iron and folic acid supplementation should be given at first contact to improve iron reserve and hematological parameters for optimum and safe surgery.

Lower Nutrient Intakes and Periodontitis: Findings from the Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Surveys

  • Background: Limited information is available regarding the associations of various nutrients and periodontitis in Korea. Furthermore, these associations have been controversial in previous studies. Therefore, the present study aimed to evaluate the associations between several nutrients and periodontitis. Methods: Pooled data from the 2007~2010 and 2012 Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Surveys (KNHANES) were used for the present study. Periodontitis was defined using the World Health Organization (WHO) Community Periodontal Index. All participants completed the Food Frequency Questionnaire (FFQ), which was analyzed using CAN-Pro 4.0. Vitamins A, B1, B2, and C, iron, phosphorus, calcium, and protein were selected for analysis. Multiple logistic regression analyses were used to estimate the odds ratios (ORs) for periodontitis. Results: Lower intake of phosphorus (adjusted odds ratio [AOR] = 1.86), calcium (AOR = 1.25), and protein (AOR = 1.52) were associated with periodontitis in males, and lower intake of vitamins A (AOR = 1.32), B1 (AOR = 1.21), B2 (AOR = 1.24), and C (AOR = 1.21), iron (AOR = 1.25), phosphorus (AOR = 1.33), and protein (AOR = 1.27) showed significant relationships with periodontitis in females. In the sociodemographic, somatic, and health behavior-adjusted models, lower phosphorus (AOR = 2.68) and protein (AOR = 1.68) intake in younger males, and lower vitamin A intake (AOR = 1.37) in middle-aged females were significantly associated with periodontitis. Conclusions: The results of the present study demonstrated a significant association between periodontitis and nutrient intake. To avoid an insufficient nutrient supply for a patient with periodontal disease, the patient's diet should be closely monitored.

The Burden of Stroke in Kurdistan Province, Iran From 2011 to 2017

  • Objectives: The aim of this study was to calculate the burden of stroke in Kurdistan Province, Iran between 2011 and 2017. Methods: Incidence data extracted from the hospital information system of Kurdistan Province and death data extracted from the system of registration and classification of causes of death were used in a cross-sectional study. The World Health Organization method was used to calculate disability-adjusted life years (DALYs). Results: The burden of stroke increased from 2453.44 DALYs in 2011 to 5269.68 in 2017, the years of life lost increased from 2381.57 in 2011 to 5109.68 in 2017, and the years of healthy life lost due to disability increased from 71.87 in 2011 to 159.99 in 2017. The DALYs of ischaemic stroke exceeded those of haemorrhagic stroke. The burden of disease, new cases, and deaths doubled during the study period. The age-standardised incidence rate of ischaemic stroke and haemorrhagic stroke in 2017 was 21.72 and 20.72 per 100 000 population, respectively. Conclusions: The burden of stroke is increasing in Kurdistan Province. Since health services in Iran are based on treatment, steps are needed to revise the current treatment services for stroke and to improve the quality of services. Policy-makers and managers of the health system need to plan to reduce the known risk factors for stroke in the community. In addition to preventive interventions, efficient and up-to-date interventions are recommended for the rapid diagnosis and treatment of stroke patients in hospitals. Along with therapeutic interventions, preventive interventions can help reduce the stroke burden.

스마트 마이닝 기술 국제 표준화 동향 분석: GMG 가이드라인을 중심으로 (Analysis of International Standardization Trends of Smart Mining Technology: Focusing on GMG Guidelines)

  • 본 연구에서는 GMG (Global Mining Guidelines Group)에서 개발한 광업 분야 가이드라인을 중심으로 스마트 마이닝 기술 국제 표준화 동향을 분석하였다. GMG는 글로벌 광업 커뮤니티를 하나로 묶는 비영리 단체이며, 광업의 안전과 혁신, 지속가능성을 제고시키기 위한 목적으로 설립되었다. 현재 GMG의 실무그룹은 인공지능, 자산관리, 자율 채광, 사이버 보안, 데이터 접근 및 사용/상호 운용성, 전기화, 광물 처리, 지하 채광, 지속가능성 실무그룹으로 구성되어 있다. 스마트 마이닝 기술과 관련한 가이드라인 개발 프로젝트는 인공지능, 자율 채광, 사이버 보안, 데이터 접근 및 사용/상호운용성, 지하 채광 실무그룹에서 진행되고 있다. 2022년 4월 현재 8종의 스마트 마이닝 관련 가이드라인은 사전 착수, 착수, 가이드라인 정의, 콘텐츠 생성, 기술 수정, 레이아웃 및 최종 검토, 투표 과정을 거쳐 출판되었다. GMG에서 출판한 가이드라인은 국내 스마트 마이닝 기술 표준 개발에 있어 중요한 참고 자료가 될 수 있을 것이라 판단된다.
