Considering on the crisis and dilemma of monumentality in Modern architecture, this study analyse the historic reason of decay and new possibility of monumentality within the context of contemporary socio-cultural context. Historically monumentality has been considered as a main substance of High architecture in e tradition of Western Architecture. Difference between building and architecture mainly lies in monumentality which brings about esthetic quality. Usually architects take it granted that the physical and formal characteristics automatically cause the monumentality, But since the modem period the decline of communicative and representative function of architecture made this belief questionable. As Monumentality itself faced the dilemma with the modernity, ironically architects has to response to the task to handle the increasing social demands of monumental building. This study firstly shows the dilemma of monumentality in depth in case of the holocaust museum. Then we analyse the concept of monumentality itself by means of theoretical view of A. Loos and A Riegl We also analyse the change of role which monumental building played in history. Cultural and social change of context, and fundamental change of architecture old way of building a monument impossible. In conclusion this study proposes the new concept and searches new horizon of monumentality with a finding of the otherness of monumentality. Conventional monumental building language has to give way to new approaches. With some examples we already can find a new possibility.

Aiming at finding symbolistic meanings and characteristics of makeup in Chinese Beijing Opera("BO"), this study formulated a theoretical framework mainly from literature in the Symbolism and symbolistically analyzed materials related to BO makeup from literature, internet web pages and illustrated news concerning performing arts. Main objects to analyze are the characteristics of four main roles in BO and the patterns, symbols, ornaments and traditions of Beijing Opera facial makeup("BOFM"). Four main roles are Sheng, Tan, Ching and Chou, categorized by gender, age, social position and personality. The result to analyze symbolistic meanings and characteristics of makeups for the roles in BO are as follows: the patterns and colors of BOFM function as explanations to help audiences understand each role's personality and dramatic situations as well as provide hints about the development and ending of an opera: that is, BO makeup is a communicative intermediary between audiences and actors in BO. It tends to follow the stereotypes, which conventionally dress and exaggerate the characters of roles, and copy the traditional Chinese perception about colors. Thus, by the metaphysical and typical expression of BOFM, Chinese people have not been pursuing the realism in opera but applying BO makeup to a mutual communication method between audiences and performing artists as to share their collective cultural heritages and spirits. Threfore, BO makeup has been an interacting language between the two entities and grown within the history of BO as a beauty art to highlight a BO by its unique systems, ornaments and beauty.

디지털 게임의 장르는 고정 불변의 체계가 아닌, 수정과 변화를 거듭하는 생성적 체계이다. 본 연구는 디지털 게임의 장르에 대한 기존의 접근이 보편적 분류 체계의 도출에만 머물러 있었다는 문제의식 아래, 대안적 장르로 자리할 수 있는 사용자 태그의 가능성을 고찰한다. 디지털 게임의 대안적 장르는 다양한 장르 요소의 조합으로 표현되는 동시에 사용자의 장르 인식을 반영할 수 있어야 한다. 게임의 사용자 태그는 고전적 장르 개념을 가족유사성 기반의 범주화 과정으로 전환시키고, 사용자 주도의 상향식 장르 체계를 구축함으로써 대안적 장르의 형식을 실현한다. 대안적 장르로서의 사용자 태그는 장르 요소의 다중성을 통해 '작은' 장르를 확산시키며, 장르의 의사소통적 기능을 강화한다는 점에서 의미를 갖는다.

본 연구는 가변형 소통공간을 제안하는데 목적이 있다. 노마드적 행태를 반영할 수 있는 가변형 공간을 정의하고, 계획방향을 제안하기 위해 선행연구 및 사례분석이 이루어졌다. 더불어 가변형 공간을 제안하기 위한 공간 시나리오와 프로그램이 계획되었으며, 실제 1:1 공간 제작을 통하여 실효성을 검증하였다. 끝으로 사용자들의 의견을 수렴하여 개선방향을 도출하고, 향후 다양한 장소와 프로그램 변화를 통한 활용방향을 모색하였다.

This is a cross-sectional study designed to analyze the correlation between the structural and social variables and the pattern of contraction and deletion of the copula verb in the speech of African American Vernacular English (AAVE) speakers in Athens in Georgia, USA using a questionnaire. The results show that the frequency of copula contraction is higher than that of deletion in all factor groups including the age of the speakers where this study found that younger speakers tend to have higher frequency of contraction and deletion of the copula than older speakers. This study analyzes this as a function of the fact that younger speakers of AAVE are conscious of the linguistic and social differences between AAVE speakers and speakers of Standard American English (SAE) and they consciously make choices regarding which norm to use at which contexts to satisfy their communicative and socio-cultural needs. This sort of conscious social behavior is not likely to disappear with age rather it might increase as a correlate of the perceived physical, socio-cultural and psychological distance between AAVE speakers and speakers of other varieties. This study shows that such perceived linguistic, socio-cultural and psychological distance has negative effects on pedagogy and I proffer the remedy.

이 연구는 사회 감시견과 상호작용성의 차원에서 살펴 본 기자 블로그의 저널리즘적 특성이 전문기자 블로그와 시민기자 블로그 간에 어떻게 다르게 나타나는지를 비교 분석하였다. 사회의 감시견은 블로그 콘텐츠의 연성화 정도와 내용에 반영된 언론과 정부와의 관계의 측면에서 분석하였고, 상호작용성은 댓글 분석을 통해 규명하였다. 분석대상은 대표적인 시민기자 신문인 <오마이뉴스>와 이와 유사한 이념적 지향성을 지닌 <한겨레>의 전문기자 블로그다. 분석 결과, <오마이뉴스> 시민기자 블로그의 게시물이 <한겨레> 전문기자 블로그 게시물 보다 연성뉴스를 더 많이 다루고 있었으나 정부와 상호 비판적인 견제관계를 유지하는 경향이 상대적으로 강하게 드러나 시민기자 블로그와 전문기자 블로그가 서로 다른 측면에서 사회 감시견의 특성을 보여준다는 사실이 드러났다. 그리고 기자 블로그 게시물에 달린 댓글을 분석하여 파악한 상호작용성은, 댓글의 단순한 상호작용은 <오마이뉴스>에서 더 활발하게 이루어졌으나, 소통적 상호작용은 <한겨레>에서 더욱 강하게 나타난다는 결과를 얻었다.

수변완충녹지는 유역의 비점오염원을 친환경적으로 정화시키고 탄소흡수원으로서 유용하며 다양한 생태계 서비스 기능을 제공하는 자연기반해법이다. 더불어 수변완충녹지는 생물 다양성과 인간의 행위 빈도가 높은 수역과 육역의 중간지대에 구축되는 지속가능한 사회생태시스템으로서 지역 공동체와의 긴밀한 상호 소통적 환경계획 과정으로 조성되어야 한다. 본 연구에서는 한강수계 경안천변 용인시 모현읍 갈담리 582-2 일원의 매수토지에 추진되는 수변생태벨트 사업을 대상으로 계획 및 설계를 소통적 행위로 이해하고 실천하기 위해 세 가지의 전략을 제시하고 이를 과정으로 구현하였다. 첫 번째, 관 주도의 사업을 지양하고 지역 거버넌스인 협의체를 중심으로 주민과 이해관계자들이 함께 참여하는 과정으로 개선하였다. 두 번째, 주민이 공감할 수 있는 생태계 서비스 기능 증진 측면의 설계 요소를 도입하고 선호하는 공간, 시설의 계획을 통해 수용성과 인식을 높이고자 하였다. 세 번째, 생물 서식처, 물순환 기반의 생태환경, 주민 생태체험·휴식공간 등의 균형있는 계획과 더불어 향후 이용 주체인 주민들이 조성 효과와 생태자원으로서의 가치를 체감하고 조성지의 운영, 관리에 참여, 환원될 수 있도록 하는 체계를 마련하였다. 이러한 설계 과정을 통해 사업 초기부터 주민참여 기반의 프로세스 모델을 정착하여 주민의 수용성, 주민 의견을 투영하는 사회생태시스템으로 작동되어 주민의 가치 인식, 조성 유지관리 단계까지 솔선수범할 수 있는 체계를 마련하였다. 그리고 국내 수변완충녹지 정책 패러다임의 변화와 향후 유사 사업 추진 시에 적용 가능한 시사점을 제공하는데 의의가 있다.

본 연구는 고려말에 저자미상의 실용적인 목적으로 만들어진 외국어 교재 "노걸대"에 대하여 어떻게 고려말부터 조선 500년 동안 지속적으로 외국어 교재로 사용될 수 있었는지 외국어 교재로서 그 지속성의 가치는 어디에 있는지를 알아보고자 하는데 있다. 이를 위해서 "노걸대"에 있는 대화문 구성된 의사소통 상황별로 정광의 "노걸대" 역주본에 나와 있는 106편의 대화를 만남(12편), 숙박(17편), 대도행(21편), 대도 생활(34편), 귀국(11편)으로 구분하여 평균문장길이, 어휘길이, 타입-토큰 비율, 본동사 앞 단어 수, 명사구 평균 수식어수 항목 측정치를 활용하여 외국어 교재로서의 계열성을 파악하고자 한다. "노걸대"는 제시된각 의사소통기능에서 일부 명사구 내의 계열성이 무시된 경우를 제외하면 전체적으로 복잡도의 계열성을 확인할 수 있었다. 문장 길이, 문장의 복잡도 계열성은 전체적으로 확인되었다. 어휘의 다양성은 계열성이 제대로 구성되었다고 볼 수는 없으나 어휘의 반복율이 높은 것은 기본적인 어휘의 사용이 많이 이루어졌다는 것을 의미한다.

As the dark side of society, Idle spaces, which occurred with the paradigm change due to rapid modernization and industralization, has been existing as a severed part in cities. But with the periodic change, interest in the existing place and regional regeneration, and the necessity of reconsidering about the idle spaces values of space, city environment, socio-culture, and economy was proposed. I estimated that the change of relational aesthetics aspect of modern arts resulted in the consideration of recognizing 'place' of art, through the study, it was revealed that the form of modern arts and change of enjoyment were related to space, and the fact that this had a relation with the rise of artistic regeneration of idle spaces. mutually communicative relationship formation and practical form of arts was deducted through the interpretation of relational aesthetics, Idle spaces and artistic regeneration space can be categorized into forms of experiential space, creative space, and cultural space, depending on the formation of relationship between author-art-audience. Through the comprehensive analysis, Artistic regeneration space by relationship formation is Vitalization of various forms of art and participation program eliminates the boundary between creation and enjoyment, and the space itself can be said to contain extensive, integral, and nonterritorialization meaning as a place of experiencing art. In other words, Artistic regeneration space of idle spaces forms a close relationship with the local society, and is placed within the context of daily domain as an open space, straying off from the existing separative and closed artistic space configuration. and artistic changeover of idle spaces is not only the appearance of space that simply fulfills function according to transfiguration of modern art, but signifies that art is coexisting with space as an indivisible relationship, and can be said to be the foothold of new relationship creation as the practical 'place' of art.

The objective of this article is to examine the possibility of 'story-telling' as united concept of causality and subjectivity through sequence combination, and the 'similarity' between object and image in fashion photographs making diversity of meanings. To analyze and investigate the research, as evidential data this paper used the photos of Steven Meisel from 2002 till 2007 Vogue published in Korea, U.S, and Italy, as well as other visual data like graphic collections, catalogs, art-related data and internet data. This research runs both theoretical and positive investigations to suggest the function of story-telling in the Process of opened-communicative roles of fashion photos. Thus this paper investigated Steven Meisel's storytelling in his fashion photos; short moment of event, continuity of time, compound of sequence, and complexity of viewpoint. This paper also studied the aesthetic characteristics of Steven Meisel's fashion photos as categories of overlapped meaning, arbitrariness of interpretation, exclusivity of message, and decoding. The research result suggests that clothing not only includes current age's value but also among social constitutions it includes multilateral characteristics. Ultimately this paper is also making meaning alive by cutting off the chain of 'firm' meanings of fashion photo. That seems like opening the opportunity for correctly understanding fashion's meaning which has the aspects of ambivalence of changing meanings and values by the motivation of context and text.
