In the traditional cellular network communication, the cellular user and the base station exchange information through the uplink channel and downlink channel. Meanwhile, device-to-device (D2D) users access the cellular network by reusing the channel resources of the cellular users. However, when cellular user channel conditions are poor, not only D2D user cannot reuse its channel resources to access the network, but also cellular user's communication needs cannot be met. To solve this problem, we introduced a novelty D2D communication mechanism in the downlink, which D2D transmitter users as half-duplex (HD) relays to assist the downlink transmission of cellular users with reusing corresponding spectrum. The optimization goal of the system is to make the cellular users in the bad channel state meet the minimum transmission rate requirement and at the same time maximize the throughput of the D2D users. In addition, i for the purpose of improving the efficiency of relay transmission, we use two-antenna architecture of D2D relay to enable receive and transmit signals at the same time. Then we optimized power of base station and D2D relay separately with consideration of backhaul interference caused by two-antenna architectures. The simulation results show that the proposed HD relay strategyis superior to existing HD and full-duplex (FD) models in the aspects of system throughput and power efficiency.
The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of peer-to-peer relay feedback strategy on achievement in mathematical problem solving and mathematical communication ability. The experimental instruction was given to 99 students. They were divided into two groups. In this research a strategy of peer-to-peer relay feedback is developed. To enhance lateral communication, students were instructed according to the strategy to read open-type problems, to write mathematical ideas individually and to share their ideas and get feedback in relay method with peers within a small subgroup. The results are as follows. 1) Mathematics achievement assessments were carried six times in the cleanup phases of the class. There was no difference at the 1st test. 2) The second t-test of mathematical communication abilities showed that there was meaningful difference and that peer-to-peer relay feedback was effective. But there was no difference on reading. 3) Peer-to-peer relay feedback strategy has a positive impact.

The conventional power system allowed only downstream power flow. Therefore, even if a fault occurs, only the forward current flow is considered. However, with the interest in distributed generation (DG), DGs such as Photovoltaic (PV), Wind Turbine (WT) are being connected to a power system. DGs have many advantages, but they also have disadvantage such as generation of reverse flow. Reverse flow can severely disrupt existing protection systems that only consider downstream power flow. The major problems that may arise from reverse power flow are blinding protection and sympathetic tripping. In order to solve such problems, the methods of installing a directional relay or a fault current limiter is proposed. However, this method is inconceivable because of the economics shortage. Therefore, in this paper, a distance relay installed in existing power system is used to solve the protection problem. Modeling of distance relay has been carried out using ElectroMagnetic Transients Program (EMTP), and it has been verified through simulations that the above problems can be solved by a distance relay.

In this paper, we propose a new relay selection scheme which can decrease the secrecy outage probability in a relay communication network with multiple relays and an eavesdropper. In the conventional relay selection scheme, a relay transmits jamming signal toward an eavesdropper to decrease the successful decoding probability of the eavesdropper. The coventional scheme has a critical problem that the successful decoding probability of a receiver also decreases. The new relay selection scheme proposed in this paper can significantly enhance the secrecy outage probability by selecting a pair of relays which can increase the successful decoding probability of the receiver while decreasing the successful decoding probability of the eavesdropper. We performed extensive computer simulation based on Monte-Carlo. The simulation results reveal that the proposed relay selection scheme can improve the secrecy outage probability by 10 to 50 times compared to the existing relay selection scheme.
In this paper, a distributed mobile relay power control (DMRPC) scheme for maximizing individual cell throughput is proposed for mobile relay aided multi-cell orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM)-time division duplex (TDD) system. In the system with DMRPC, the power levels of relay's are controlled by individual cell without cell cooperation and signalling overhead. It is demonstrated by numerical simulation that DMRPC provides the better cell throughput performance than either the full power relay aided system or conventional system without relay does. Moreover, it is also shown that relay aided systems with DMRPC, and the conventional system have almost identical cell edge throughput, while full power relay aided systems show worse performance in cell edge throughput.
The bi-directional relay channel is the natural extension of a three-terminal relay channel where node a transmits to node b with the help of a relay r to allow for two-way communication between nodes a and b. That is, in a bi-directional relay channel, a and b wish to exchange independent messages over a shared channel with the help of a relay r. The rates at which this communication may reliably take place depend on the assumptions made on the relay processing abilities. We overview information theoretic limits of the bi-directional relay channel under a variety of conditions, before focusing on half-duplex nodes in which communication takes place in a number of temporal phases (resulting in protocols), and nodes may forward messages in four manners. The relay-forwarding considered are: Amplify and forward (AF), decode and forward (DF), compress and forward (CF), and mixed forward. The last scheme is a combination of CF in one direction and DF in the other. We derive inner and outer bounds to the capacity region of the bi-directional relay channel for three temporal protocols under these four relaying schemes. The first protocol is a two phase protocol where a and b simultaneously transmit during the first phase and the relay r alone transmits during the second. The second protocol considers sequential transmissions from a and b followed by a transmission from the relay while the third protocol is a hybrid of the first two protocols and has four phases. We provide a comprehensive treatment of protocols in Gaussian noise, obtaining their respective achievable rate regions, outer bounds, and their relative performance under different SNR and relay geometries.

An optical magnetic filed sensor, YIG (Yittrium Iron Garnet), response rapidly, to the power-line currents to be measured. In response to Faraday effect, it shows wide-and-linear measurable range. This paper reports the development and implementation of an OOCR (Optoelectric OverCurrent Relay) using this sensor. This relay is free from environmental electro-magnetic noises and has excellent insulation characteristics inherently. By using this OOCR, we can reduce insulation cost of protective relaying systems and its maintenance cost, and can achieve high reliability of the system.

In the distribution system, Change of system happens frequently. However, most of the relays are operated manually by a person or not changed when system changed. So, when fault happened, a case that relaydoes not act rapidly happens. Also, in current power system, digital relays are used because of digitization of relay. Digital relay has very many advantages than existing analog relay. One of these advantages is that communication is available and easily can make characteristic curve. If specific values are sent to a relay by communication, A relay can make suitable characteristic curve according to the value. In this paper, by using voltages and currents measured by relay, state of CB(Circuit Breaker) and these relays, SCADA(Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition) system that control and correct characteristic curve of overcurrent relay at system change by using HMI(Human Machine Interface) is proposed.

Advancements in nanotechnology and novel nano materials in the past decade have provided a set of tools that can be used to design and manufacture integrated nano devices, which are capable of performing sensing, computing, data storing and actuation. In this paper, we have proposed cooperative nano communication using Power Switching Relay (PSR) Wireless Power Transfer (WPT) protocol and Time Switching Relay (TSR) WPT protocol over independent identically distributed (i.i.d.) Rayleigh fading channels in the Terahertz (THz) Gap frequency band to increase the range of transmission. Outage Probability (OP) performances for the proposed cooperative nano communication networks have been evaluated for the following scenarios: A) A single decode-and-forward (DF) relay for PSR protocol and TSR protocol, B) DF multi-relay network with best relay selection (BRS) for PSR protocol and TSR protocol, and C) DF multi-relay network with multiple DF hops with BRS for PSR protocol and TSR protocol. The results have shown that the transmission distance can be improved significantly by employing DF relays with WPT. They have also shown that by increasing the number of hops in a relay the OP performance is only marginally degraded. The analytical results have been verified by Monte-Carlo simulations.

Several falling-sensing terminals have been developed which are able to detect the fall/upset accident of the elderly and transmit the collapsing signals to the administrative server via RF communication using 400MHz bandwidth. Supposing there might be no communication problem within a sanatorium, just single terminal without relay function had been made as a prototype in the first stage of development. However some communication problems have discovered at the coner of the floor apart from the other floor diagonally in the same building. Same kind of problems have been happened in the area behind a steel fence or a car. To solve these kinds of communication problems, we have developed several terminals and added up relay function to them. In this paper we represented that the success ratio of the communication has been improved by using relay function among several terminals.
