By a nonnegative sign pattern we mean a matrix whose entries are from the set {+, 0}. A nonnegative sign pattern A is said to allow normality if there is a normal matrix B whose entries have signs indicated by A. In this paper we investigated some nonnegative normal pattern that is different to the pattern in [1]. Some interesting constructions of nonnegative integer normal matrices are provided.

This paper proposes a method to apply the Backpropagation(BP) algorithm of MVL(Multi-Valued Logic) Neural Network to pattern recognition. It extracts the property of an object density about an original pattern necessary for pattern processing and makes the property of the object density mapped to MVL. In addition, because it team the pattern by using multiple valued logic, it can reduce time f3r pattern and space fer memory to a minimum. There is, however, a demerit that existed MVL cannot adapt the change of circumstance. Through changing input into MVL function, not direct input of an existed Multiple pattern, and making it each variable loam by neural network after calculating each variable into liter function. Error has been reduced and convergence speed has become fast.

In this paper, a new method of Eye Movement Pattern Encoding (EMPE) which is based on electrooculography(EOG) was suggested for the purpose of effective communication between man and machine, instead of Point-Of-Regard-Selection (PORS) method. Also, ocular interface is designed and the typing aid, eye-pattern writer, was constructed for the test of theoretical validity and its practical aspect. Effect of eye fatigue on the performance of ocular interface was quantified through fatigue test.

This paper investigates the phatic function of intonation in Russian by recording and analysing 11 female native speakers of standard Moscow Russian. This paper shows that differences in intonation pattern of a sentence are associated with differences in degree of listener's involvement in the speech. Intonation pattern of an utterance having phatic function appears to be determined by 1) the speaker's readiness to talk to evoke the listener's attention ; 2) the speaker's intention to continue the communication. Some emphasis is placed on the relationship between intonation pattern of an utterance and speaker-listener interaction.

현재 웹상에서 데이터 표현을 위한 XML의 사용이 늘어나면서, XML 문서의 효율적인 질의 처리에 대한 관심이 증가하고 있다. 기존에 질의 처리 연구는 단일 경로에 대한 질의 처리가 연구되었고, 최근에는 두 개 이상의 경로를 가지는 Twig Pattern 질의 처리 연구가 이루어졌다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 기존에 제안된 기법들 보다 효율적으로 Twig Pattern 질의 처리를 할 수 있는 O-TJFast (Optimal TJFast) 기법을 제안한다. 또한, 본 논문에서는 XML 문서의 파싱(parsing)시 제공되는 정보를 가공하여 스트림과 포인터 구조를 얻어내어 기존에 제안된 기법들 보다 입출력 시간(I/O Time)과 처리 시간(Execution Time)을 효율적으로 감소시킬 수 있는 기법을 제안한다. 그리고 성능평가를 통해 제안한 기법이 처리시간에 많은 이득을 볼 수 있음을 보인다.

The purpose of this study is to verify differences between the college students communication pattern and problem-solving ability according to the degree of their internet game addiction. Data were obtained through 295 respondents from the college students in Seoul, Kyungsang and Junra Provinces and analyzed by one-way ANOVA. The findings are as follow: First, respondents has some significant differences in communication pattern according to the degrees of the internet game addiction. Second, the high level of addiction group shows the less functional communication pattern such as placating, blaming, irrelevant stance. Third, faced with the problem, the high level of addiction group has a tendency to use more negative problem-oriented, impulsive and careless-style, avoidance-style than rational problem solving style.

This study analyzes the practical tasks and required competency for technical designers to provide basic data on the training of domestic technical designers. The survey was applied to 21 technical designers of big vendors as well as investigated tasks, task flow, important tasks, time-consuming tasks, and required competencies. The results of the study are as follows. First, the technical designers were in charge of several brands of buyers and distributors of fashion companies, or several lines of the same brand. The main production items were cut and sewn knits. Second, the flow of task and tasks were in the order of buyer comments analysis, sloper decision to matching style, sewing specification, productive sewing method research, size specification suggestion, pattern correction comments, construction decision to matching style & fabric, sample evaluations, fit approval, business e-mail writing, specification & grading confirmation, and communication with buyer. Third, five tasks (analysis of buyer comments analysis, communication with buyer, pattern correction comments, productive sewing methods research, sample evaluation) were important and time-consuming tasks. Fourth, reeducation was required in order of sewing, pattern, English, fabric, and fitting. Fifth, competencies to be a technical designers were fitting, pattern correction, size specification & grading, construction & sewing specification, sewing terms & techniques, and communication skills. In conclusion, technical designer training should focus on technology-based instruction, such as sample evaluation, fitting, pattern correction, and productive sewing methods research of cut and sewn knits.

This study investigated the influence of children's emotional expression and sociability, and their mothers' communication pattern on their prosocial behavior. The participants were 65 preschool children aged between 5 and 6, and their mothers. Each child-mother dyad was observed for 30 minutes in a lab setting, which was designed to evaluate the child's socioemotional competence and the mother's socialization behavior. Videotaped data were analyzed by two coders for aspects of sharing behavior, the expression of happiness, sadness, anger, anxiety, and sociability for children, and mothers' communication strategies. Results showed that children's anger and anxiety expression were the most significant predictors for their prosocial behavior. Mothers' punitive communication pattern negatively affected children's prosocial behavior. However, when compared to the children's emotional expression, its' accountability were not significant. The influence of negative emotions, and its' adverse role in interpersonal interactions are discussed.

The lowest power mode (passive-standby mode) was proposed for reducing the power consumption of set-top boxes in a standby state when not receiving content. However, low-power set-top boxes equipped with the lowest power mode have been rarely commercialized because of their low-quality user experience. In the lowest power mode, they deactivates almost all of operational modules and processes, and thus require dozens of seconds for activation latency (that is, the latency for activating all modules of the set-top boxes in a standby state). They are not even updated in a standby state because they deactivate their network interfaces in a standby state. This paper proposes an adaptive standby mode scheduling method for improving the user experience of such boxes. Set-top boxes using the proposed method can analyze the activation pattern and find the frequently used time period (that is, when the set-top boxes are frequently activated). They prepare for their activation during this frequently used time period, thereby reducing the activation latency and enabling their update in a standby state.
