Road damage detection is important for road maintenance. With the development of deep learning, more and more road damage detection methods have been proposed, such as Fast R-CNN, Faster R-CNN, Mask R-CNN and RetinaNet. However, because shallow and deep layers cannot be extracted at the same time, the existing methods do not perform well in detecting objects with fewer samples. In addition, these methods cannot obtain a highly accurate detecting bounding box. This paper presents a Multi-level Feature Pyramids method based on M2det. Because the feature layer has multi-scale and multi-level architecture, the feature layer containing more information and obvious features can be extracted. Moreover, an attention mechanism is used to improve the accuracy of local boundary boxes in the dataset. Experimental results show that the proposed method is better than the current state-of-the-art methods.

Purpose: Communication skills are considered as one of the essential requirements in medical education, and the training often involves exercising medical interviews with standardized patients(SP) or role play. This study investigated the helpfulness of the communication skills training programs for students' performance on the clinical performance examination (CPX). Methods: Fourth-year students who have taken one of two communication skills programs(exercising communication skills with SP or elective communication skill course with role play) completed a questionnaire on their evaluation of the helpfulness of communication skills programs immediately after finishing the CPX. Then, the programs were objectively assessed by comparing all fourth-year students' CPX scores between program participants and non-participants. Results: About 70% of participants answered that the programs were helpful to perform clinical clerkship and CPX. However, there was no difference in either the total CPX score or 2 categorical scores(integrated clinical encounter, communication and interpersonal skill) between program participants and non-participants. Conclusion: Although the students felt that the communication skills programs were helpful to their clinical activities, this study failed to find objective evidence of any effect of the programs on the CPX results. Communication skills training should be continued during clinical clerkship to maintain or enhance the skills, and it is necessary to introduce more effective methods for precise evaluation of students' communication skills.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of SBAR communication program on nurse's perception about communication and attitudes toward patient safety. Methods: A single-group pre-post experimental study was conducted. A SBAR education program was provided to 167 nurses working in 9 general wards of a hospital in Seoul. A total of 153 questionnaires were included for the final analysis. Statistical analysis included analysis of variance, paired sample t-test, and Cochran-Mantel-Haenzel test. Results: After applying SBAR communication education, nurses perceived significant improvement in three of the five categories of communication between nurses and doctors; satisfaction (p=.001), accuracy (p=.001), and understanding (p=.002). The indicators of communication between nurses were also improved significantly in the order of accuracy (p=.001), satisfaction (p=.001), shift communication (p=.001), and openness (p=.016). The scores of nurse's attitudes toward patient safety demonstrated a significant increase in the five categories out of the six; perception of management (p=.001), working condition (p=.001), safety climate (p=.001), teamwork climate (p=.001), job satisfaction (p=.012). Conclusion: It is recommended that nurses and doctors use SBAR communication in their practice. Developing education programs and utilization methods is required for the effective establishment of SBAR communication.

The purpose of this study was to analyze methods and contents of global Korean food marketing. In-depth interviews were conducted from July to October in 2010 using a qualitative research approach. Government agencies and restaurant companies emphasized well-being and healthy aspects as a Korean food identity. Regarding the marketing contents, government agencies commonly included standard loanword orthography and recipes. On the other hand, restaurant companies contained their own contents differentiated from other brands. Government agencies used CF, video, book and newspaper as communication channels but restaurant companies did not have systematic communication channels. Government agencies attempted to use holding, supporting and participating expositions as communication methods, whereas restaurant companies mainly used sales promotion and point-of-purchase as communication methods.

The AC power lines and signal lines of info-communication networks are routed on overhead poles and are highly exposed to lightning strikes. Due to the potential difference between grounding points of AC power lines and signal lines, the electronic equipments connected to the signal lines can easily be damaged by lightning surges. In this work, in order to develop reliable methods of protecting information and communication facilities from lightning surges, the reliability and performance of SPDs (surge protective devices) were experimentally investigated in an actual-sized test circuit. The behaviors of SPDs against lightning surges from AC power lines and signal lines and the coordinated effects of SPD installation methods were evaluated. As a consequence, it was confirmed that the bypass arrester methods and common grounding system are both highly effective.

Security is a primary concern in group communication, and secure authentication is essential to establishing a secure group communication. Most conventional authentications consist of knowledge-based and token-based methods. One of the token-based methods is a X.509 certificate, which is used under a Public Key Infrastructure (PKI); it is the most well-known authentication system in a distributed network environment. However, it has a well-known weakness, which only proves the belonging of a certificate. PKI cannot assure identity of a person. The conventional knowledge-based and token-based methods do not really provide positive personal identification because they rely on surrogate representations of the person's identity. Therefore, I propose a secure X.509 certificate with biometric information to assure the identity of the person who uses the X.509 certificate in a distributed computing environment.

Objectives : The purpose of this study is to search for more effective methods of diagnosis and treatment of Communication Disorder with Post-Stroke. Methods : Literature review on Communication Disorder with Post-Stroke in view of oriental and western medicine. Conclusions : Communication Disorder with Post-Stroke is relative with aphasia in western medicine, Sul-um(舌瘖) oriental medicine Aphasia, apraxia of speech, and dysarthria come after strock Each of them has its own mechanism. Yomchon(CV23), Amun(GV15), Chuldol(CV22), Tongni(HT5), Pungnyung(ST40), Pungbu(GV16), Chigu(TE6), Yongchon(KI1), Hapkok(L14), Peakoe(GV20), Kokchi(LI11), Puryu(KI7), Shinsu(BL23), Kumjin-okaek, and Chohea(KI6) was used on Communication Disorder with Post-Stroke treatment.

In this paper, we proposed that the synchronization and secure communication methods for build small world. In order to accomplish synchronization and secure communication in the small world, we used Chua’s oscillator which well represent the chaos dynamics and composed several stage with Chua’s oscillator by using coupled synchronization method. This paper shows a secure communication result in the small world network using coupled synchronizaton method.

This paper represents the Input/Output (I/O) serial communication methods between overground and overhead controllers using a programmable logic controller (PLC). In general, the systems composed by overground and overhead controllers use exclusive serial communication units. This, however, has a demerit such as a high cost as well as some restrictions of the system itself. Thus, this paper suggests methods by I/O cards for data communication between overground and overhead controllers. In this system, there is no special card and it therefore has a lower cost and is more flexible than the exclusive serial communication unit.
