Design is one of diverse human communication activities. Development of technologies has led to execution of more active design communication functions, stirring social and cultural changes. The concept of design communication has become stronger by overcoming the limitations of verbal communication and expanding the methods of communication. These social changes are highlighted In the design of modern space. Even though communication in interior design activities is so important, detailed studies on communication of each entity are still very insufficient. Design communication refers to tools and activities for overall communications in the design process. In design activities, relevant communication is indispensible. Therefore, studies on practical communication methods are essential for accurate communication of content that has to be shared in the results or in the process of obtaining the results, rather than only focusing on the future techniques and functions of design. In other words, improving the efficiency of interior design communication requires establishing a communication relationship structure of each entity, which calls for proper expression methods depending on each entity. Therefore, this study is aimed at exploring efficient expression methods in line with the relationship structure of each entity in the interior design process.

For creative spatial design education, the convergence between new communication and education needs to be grafted including online, for which empirical research, this study is attempted. The goal of this study is to educate spatial design, systematically understand communication methods and analyze familiarity level and usefulness of on offline communication methods through actual spatial design studio class-giving cases. Its research outcome shows differing communication methods usefully applicable to stages of spatial design and methods enabling bilateral communication among class-takers as well as class-givers prove to be recognized as more useful than unilateral communication methods. Also, it proves familiarity and usefulness of online communication methods accompanied by visual materials such as images and etc. Based upon this result, it's necessary that various convergence for new communication methods for spatial design education be made in a right direction.

As the role of robots expands, flexible task planning methods are attracting attention from various domains. Many task planning frameworks are introduced to efficiently work in a wide range of areas. In order to work well in a broad region with multiple robots, various communication conditions should be controlled by task planning frameworks. However, few methods are proposed. In this paper, we propose mission planning methods according to the communication status of robots. The proposed method was verified through experiments assuming different communication states with a multi-robot system.

Most private and public organizations use, for their works, information systems that change their organizational structures. Nowadays, many organizations have team-based structures where typically a cross functional team is in charge of a business process. The effective communication among the members of a team is an important factor of team performance in that communication facilitates trust building, knowledge exchange, change acceptance, and safety improvement. This paper reviews methods for analyzing communication among team members from three aspects such as the content, the amount, and the structure of communication.

In this study, we studied methods of communication among audiences, artwork and artist and analyzed interactive media art using the nonverbal communication methods. We analyzed the 4 types of nonverbal communication based on sign and meaning[1] and reclassified suitably for analysis of interactive media art. According to the analysis result, we draw typical characters by analyzing interactive media artwork which were corresponding to the each types. Also we analyzed overlap area and classify. Through these processes, we found communication methods in interactive media artwork connect audiences and artwork by organic combination of several nonverbal communication. In this paper, we suggest a new approach about the communication among audiences, artwork and artist through analyzing interactive media art using nonverbal communication.

Purpose: This study is to investigate the influencing factors in the consistent use of contraception methods by comparing consistent and inconsistent users on partner communication, contraceptive control perception, and sexual autonomy among married Korean women. Method: This study consists of 243 married women living in Korea. A convenient sampling technique was used and data were collected by self report questionnaires from September 14, 2000 to October 20, 2000. Result: Only 41.6% of women were using contraception methods consistently and the rest of them were using contraception methods inconsistently. Between the two groups, statistical significances were noted in sexual communication(t=-2.5, p=.01), perceived contraceptive control(t=-7.5, p=.00) and sexual autonomy(t=-3.1, p=.00). As for general communication, it was not statistically significant(t=-1.0, p=.31). Conclusion: Family planning program advisors should recognize that intervention programs for the promotion of consistent contraceptive behavior should focus on the sexual communication, perceived contraceptive control, and sexual autonomy.

This paper describes two methods to assess the output speech, quality of vocoders for telephone conferencing in digital mobile communication networks. The proposed methods are the sentence discrimiantion method and the modified degraded mean opinion score (MDMOS) test. We apply these two methods to Qualcomm code excited linear prediction (QCELP), vector sum excited linear prediction (VSELP) and regular pulse excited-long term predictin (RPE-LTD) voceders to evaluate which vocoding algorithm can process mixed voice signal from two speakers better for telephone conferencing. From the experiments we obtain that the VSELP vocoding algorithm reveals superior output speech quality to the other two.

Purpose: This research was done in order to provide basic data for future research on communication and development of programs. Research methods and key areas of previous nursing research on communication in Korea were analyzed. Method: Journals with themes or titles 'nurse-patient communication', 'nursing and communication' and 'interaction between nurse-patient' were searched through internet search engines. Results: The most prevalent research design was survey and nurses were the main participants. Questionnaire was the most frequently used method to obtain the necessary data for the research. The most frequent nursing research topic regarding communication in Korea was the form of the communications such as 'types of communication', and 'organizational communication'. Conclusion: For future nursing research regarding communications in Korea, the participants and themes should be broadened. There is also a need to develop objective methods to measure and assess the results of communication so as to enable actual application of the results of the studies.

Recently, V2X (vehicle-to-everyting) communication has established itself as an essential technology for cooperative autonomous driving. V2X communication currently includes DSRC (dedicated short range communication) communication technology, which is a WLAN (wireless local area network) based communication technology, and C-V2X (cellular-V2X) communication technology, which is a Cellular-based communication technology. Since these two communication methods are not compatible with each other, various studies and experiments are being conducted to select one of the two communication methods. In the case of C-V2X communication, there are LTE-V2X (long term evolutionV2X) communication technology, which is an initial version, and 5G-V2X communication technology, which is a next-generation version. 5G-V2X communication technology has been completed only until standardization, so LTE-V2X communication technology is mainly used. In this paper, we introduce trends related to various issues in V2X communication, including communication method decisions.

Purpose: Nursing communication has become more important than ever before because quality of nursing services largely depends on the quality of communication in a very competitive health care environment. This article was to introduce ways to improve nursing communication using conversation analysis. Methods: This was a review study on conversation analysis, critically examining previous studies in nursing communication and interpersonal relationships. Results: This study provided theoretical backgrounds and basic assumptions of conversation analysis which was influenced by ethnomethodology, phenomenology, and sociolinguistic. In addition, the characteristics and analysis methods of conversation analysis were illustrated in detail. Lastly, how conversation analysis could help improve communication was shown, by examining researches using conversation analysis not only for ordinary conversations but also for extraordinary or difficult conversations such as conversations between patients with dementia and their professional nurses. Conclusion: Conversation analysis can help in improving nursing communication by providing various structures and patterns as well as prototypes of conversation, and by suggesting specific problems and problem-solving strategies in communication.
