The aim of this paper is to prove a common fixed point theorem in normed linear spaces for noncompatible, discontinuous mappings without assuming completeness of the space. We also give an application of our theorem to best approximation theory.

In this note we use a generalization of coincidence point(a property which was defined by [1] in symmetric spaces) to prove common fixed point theorem on S-metric spaces for weakly compatible maps. Also the results are used to achieve the solution of an integral equation and the bounded solution of a functional equation in dynamic programming.

In this paper, we obtain some common fixed point theorems of single and multivalued maps under hybrid contractive conditions satisfying weakly commuting in IFMS. Our results extend previous ones in IFMS.

The aim of this paper is to prove a common fixed point theorem in normed linear spaces for discontinuous, occasionally weakly biased mappings without assuming completeness of the space. We give an example to illustrare our theorem. We also give an application of our theorem to best approximation theory. Our theorem improve the results of Gregus [9], Jungck [12], Pathak, Cho and Kang [22], Sharma and Deshpande [26]-[28].

In this paper, we prove some common fixed point theorem for two nonlinear mappings in complete $\mathcal{M}$-fuzzy metric spaces. Our main results improved versions of several fixed point theorems in complete fuzz metric spaces.

Biological systems offer unique principles for the design and fabrication of engineering platforms (i.e., popularly known as "Biomimetics") for various applications in many fields. For example, the lotus leaves exhibit unique surfaces consisting of evenly distributed micro and nanostructures. These unique surfaces of lotus leaves have the ability of superhydrophobic property to avoid getting wet by the surrounding water (i.e., Lotus effect). Inspired by the surface topographies of lotus leaves, the artificial superhydrophobic surfaces were developed using various micro- and nanoengineering. Here, we propose new platforms that can control hydrophilic and hydrophobic property of surfaces by mimicking micro- and nanosurfaces of various natural leaves such as common camellia, hosta plantaginea, and lotus. Using capillary force lithography technology and polymers in combination with biomimetic design principle, the unique micro- and nanostructures mimicking natural surfaces of common camellia, hosta plantaginea, and lotus were designed and fabricated. We also demonstrated that the replicated polymeric surfaces had different hydrophilic and hydrophobic properties according to the mimicking the natural leaf surfaces, which could be used as a simple, but powerful methodology for design and fabrication of controlled hydrophilic and hydrophobic platforms for various applications in the field of agriculture and biological engineering.

Then S and T shares the same local spectral properties SVEP, Bishop's property (${\beta}$), property $({\beta})_{\epsilon}$, property (${\delta}$) and and subscalarity. Moreover, the operators ${\lambda}I$ - T and ${\lambda}I$ - S have many basic operator properties in common.

On the basis of sustainable long-term water resources planning, the development of ground water resources should be interlocked with the surface water development In considering the intertemporal equity, overpumping of groundwater may diminish or eliminate the groundwater resources stock of post-generations. Regulatory landuse zoning for groundwater resources recharge area is indispensable measures to prevent groundwater pollution. Adequate treatment of polluted water from various sources such as municipal sewage, industrial wastewater, landfill site leachate, and abandoned boring wells, is also necessary for groundwater protection. To preserve groundwater resources as common property goods, groundwater use tax should be imposed upon the large scale groundwater use. Finally, the establishment of groundwater development license system is recommended to achieve the social optimal production and to avoid external diseconomy.

As of late, people who enjoy fishing as a pastime in Korea has dramatically increased on the back of the increased national income and 5-day working system being in place. In the past, people used to fish in inland waters, but fishing on the sea has also shown a steady increase. The expanded fishing community along with increasing types of fishing, however, led to destruction of ecosystem by littering the waters of both inland and sea with wastes and reckless exploitation of fish resources. Fishing activities are usually taking place in inland waters, or on the sea, which is, by definition, a common property, and side effects such as free riding and diseconomy are frequently observed occurring. In other words, everyone can use the property free of charge(except paying fishing lot), and littering the waters with pollutants and wastes stemming from fishing activities is currently rampant. In this context, this paper studies the necessity of introducing fishing license system and its feasibility in Korea from a perspective to improve the national welfare through policy measures based on 'polluter pays principle' to prevent further environmental pollution in the fishing lot and preserve fishery resources. Study shows that introduction of Recreational fishing license system is urgently needed, but it is concluded that it should take more time to implement the system so as to accomodate the differing interests of all parties involved including recreational fishing industry, while strengthening public relation activities to solicit for the people's understanding of the system to be introduced.

This paper is concerned with a flow-shop scheduling problem for all jobs having the common due date using V-Shape penalty cost function for earliness and lateness. The objective of the paper is to develop an efficient heuristic scheduling algorithm for minimizing total penalty cost function and for determining the optimal common due date. In addition, the between-job-delay for two machines are considered for developing the algorithm. A numerical example is given for illustrating the proposed algorithm.
