Majority of the seniors living in nursing homes suffer from persistent chronic pain, which may cause depression and compromised quality of life if untreated. The environment should support them to lift their focus from current pain and worries to the positive feelings and the delight of life. The purpose of this research is to classify the healing environment elements for positive distraction, and analyze 6 international cases to see the current situation. The elements were categorized as follows, based on literature review from both healing spaces and elderly care field: spatial elements(view, natural elements, artificial elements, exercise space, garden), psychological elements(grooming area, space for privacy, meal/drink area, elements for recollection, religious space), social elements(common living area, activity/hoppy room, family/visitor area, information area, local community program space). Analysis on 6 facilities showed that each elements were reflected to designed relatively well. New inventions from workers who think distraction is important were also introduced. Healing environment for positive distraction requires delicate touch, derived from understanding characteristics and situation of the residing elderly individuals. Technology update is also significant, from audio books to virtual reality devices, since cultural life of nursing home is far behind from what the others enjoy now.

The purpose of this research is to analyzing the welfare function of the senior citizen with similar type of compounding the school facility, to analyze the problematical point of present condition. And also propose the spatial constitution which the student and the regional senior citizen are easy to utilize on the basis of the result. In a type of educational facility composition, it became clear that a ratio and the inflection order that elderly welfare facilities occupied of vacant class room were low. In other words, in composition of a school facilities, elderly welfare facilities can be said to be an important problem. As a result of having analyzed an existing compound facilities, there was limited interchange of student and a the aged. In addition, there were problems such as learning environment by an intersection of circulation. Therefore, composition of educational facility and elderly welfare facilities is not space composition that is intersection of simple specification function. In other words, a program of the common space which is necessary for the local community formation is necessary. Setting of semi-public area proposes the function of the existing facility and actual condition of spatial use in prerequisite.
The purpose of this study was to investigate and analyze the function and scale on aspect of construction planning with examples of exhibition and convention facilities constructed recently in domestic and foreign area. Also, it was to provide the result for basic data for construction planning and architecture of similar facilities constructed later. The study methodles, but they had characteristics to use the space with compound purpose for exhibition, conference, etc through installing multi-purpose hall. Finally, for effective construction planning of exhibition and convention facilities, it was required to decrease the ratio of common area gradually and derive rationalization of whole space composition by deriving complexity of function rather than planning of single purpose of each facility for exhibition and conference function. was to analyze the characteristics of construction planning for composition and scale of exhibition, conference, public use, support, maintenance functions, etc and placement composition of unit rooms by each floor on the basis of internal area of exhibition and convention facility in Korea and Japan. As the result of analyzing 10 examples(K1~J5), the placement of auditorium and multi-purpose hall was affected according to location of exhibition room and conference room in the composition of unit rooms by each floor and the installment ratio of support facility in Korean examples was higher than in Japanese examples. In case of facility scale, the Japanese examples were overall small in the whole scale relatively to Korean examp.
The purpose of this study is to suggest unit design considerations for college student's rental houses. To achieve this purpose, life pattern, residential space usage and housing needs were investigated. Data were collected by in-person interviews. Interview participants were 37 single undergraduate students living near the Shinchon station subway line 2. Subjects were selected by housing types-a Gosiwon, a boarding house or an one-room house-. Qualitative approaching method was used, and quantitative analysis was additionally employed to count keyword found during the interviews. SPSS window version 14.0 was used for the descriptive statistics and the analysis of the items with multi-response analysis. The major findings are as follows; a personal space for each resident with a common kitchen and a bathroom was mostly desired for the unit. Therefore, Two diagrams would be used as examples to explain the new concept of unit planning.
To analyze the space features of small-sized detached houses, this study has compared the floor plan types of detached houses and apartments. Currently small-sized detached houses are popular in Korea. The comparative analysis was focused on common residential patterns and the apartment plan. The results of space syntax were summarized as follows: four types of apartments and twelve types of small-sized detached houses were deduced by the relative spatial depth analysis. Among the sixty-seven house samples, only two of them showed the same pattern as those of apartments, which showed that each room of detached houses had distinct difference with those of apartments. According to the integration and control analysis, each space of apartments showed difference within narrow range, while the space of detached housed showed difference within wide range. In addition, the detached houses showed distinct relations between the center of space and the surroundings, and there are distinct differences between the easier layouts for access rooms and difficult ones. Moreover, the living rooms of detached houses somewhat exist under the low integration condition, and they cannot be standardized in the center of house, which are different with those of apartments. The master bedrooms of detached houses exit at the surrounding space same as those of apartments. Nevertheless the toilet is in the master bedroom which made its control lower than those of apartments.
The purpose of this paper is to investigate the planning characteristics of certain cases of elderly welfare housing (hitherto EWH), and analyze any problems by comparing this against the actual needs of potential residents. To this end, 38 distinct housing plans from twelve EWH built after 2005 were examined, and a survey on housing needs was taken by 198 people between 48 and 62 years of age. The results are as follows: Firstly, the most common size found among the 10 cases was 42-66 $m^2$, however larger sizes are becoming more frequent. The most popular response on the survey was one favoring smaller housing options. Secondly, the most common floor plan examined consisted of 1 bedroom + LDK and 2 bedroom + LDK. Likewise, the survey reflected that 1 or 2 bedroom housing was preferred. Thirdly, a floor plan composed of a smaller bedroom and LDK is commonly found in smaller floor plans of EWH. The survey reflected potential residents preferred this same style of floor plan, with a smaller bedroom and LDK set up. However, lower-income participants preferred a single, larger bedroom which also can serve as a living space, to go along with a kitchen/dining room (DK). Fourthly, 2 bedroom housing typically included a single bathroom, however the survey indicated that participants preferred a second bathroom to go along with a second bedroom. Consequently, the planning of elderly welfare housing is to a large extent meeting the demands of its potential residents, however house size and the planning of bathrooms have yet to meet these demands, especially with potential lower-income residents when it comes to housing size and space composition.
The purpose of the study was to identify the level of housing choice behavior by using the factors of residential satisfaction level, mobility motivation, and housing needs of potential purchasers in Bukgu New Housing Area, Ulsan. The survey used questionnaire from 326 households living in Bukgu and nearby area and analyzed using descriptive statistics. The research results showed low degree of residential satisfaction in storage space and neighborhood. The mobility motivations were improvement of physical environment improvement, education environment, walking road, view and lighting. The housing needs for indoor spaces showed to want more functional arrangement than the room size. The housing needs for outdoor spaces showed to want neighborhood environment in connection with the education or hospital facilities, the welfare facilities for pre-kindergarten children and elders and the leisure facilities. And the housing needs for facilities were floor furnishing for health, crime prevention system for safety needs, housekeeping appliance against environmental pollution, additional function for energy saving. The housing needs for common spaces showed that the residents preferred playing facilities by age group, exercise facilities, the community hall and the rest room which can do games or meetings.
Though Korea and China have a lot of things in common, these two countries have developed different housing style. However, after modernization, apartments have become major housing style in both Korea and China. So this research analyzed 240 apartment plans which was build in Seoul and Beijing in 2000s and 2010s to predict the future trends for apartments. The results are as follows: The opening direction of the front door will be outwards as the hallway space of small apartments in China become wider as the living standards is increasing. Because of the floor sitting lifestyle, Koreans end outdoor activities when take off their shoes at the entrance hall and continue for indoor activities, they separate entrance hall from livingroom. However, because Chinese have chair sitting lifestyle, entrance hall and livingroom is not divided. Korean apartment shows a trend which connects livingroom, diningroom and kitchen altogether; however, Chinese apartment shows a trend which separates kitchen from livingroom and diningroom. Bedrooms are showing a trend of distributed layout. Master bedroom are showing a trend which includes separate bathroom or attached room as the size of apartment increases and so on.

So that, environment of museum should be established by plan to preservation and management. The point of plan to museum is that minimize dangerous element for collections, and then develop an essencial element of space for$\ulcorner$conservation$\lrcorner$and$\ulcorner$exhibition$\lrcorner$. The reason why with a few exceptions (buildings which have being exposed or extremely minor part of collections) most of collections have been lasting its life during over hundreds of years with adapting itself to natural features, so scheme of preservation facilities should be made up with understanding and analysis generic character of collections, and then establish proper temperature and humidity environment.

According to the increase of demand for human organs such as kidney, heart, pancreas, joint, and cornea for therapeutic transplantation, the production of alternative organs based on Gnotobiotic Pigs gains a lot of concerns all over the world. However, it is not common to design and build Gnotobiotic Pigs' facility, and there are only a few those facilities and planning principles for them. Considering the situation above, this paper tries to develop planning guidelines for space organization and circulation system of standardized Germ Free Pig's facility on the bases of case analysis. The results of this study are as follows. At first, four swine farms including a Gntobiotic Pig's facility has been analysed from the point of space organization and circulation system. Secondly, the space zoning of Gnotobiotic Pigs' facility has been proposed into 5 groups : pigs' area, adminstration area, operating room and laboratory, service area, and mechanical area. Space components of each group have been presented also. Finally, circulation system of Gnotobiotic Pigs' facility has been explored from a operational point of view. This, also, includes human circulation, pig's circulation, and goods' circulation. This study has some limitations because it does not consider the SOPs(standard operational policies) of that facility to the fullest measure and does not suggest space area of each part, either. Despite of some weaknesses, it is expected that this study can give some useful guidelines for the design and planning of Germ Free Pigs' facilities.
