Why Do We Pay for Advertising Models?: Suggestions for Maximizing Advertising Effectiveness

  • Purpose - In this study, we inspected the effects of public-service advertising (PSA) and commercial advertisements on consumers' social and emotional values. Specifically, we include source credibility on advertising models as a mediating variable to compare the path difference between the social and emotional value of consumers, and to test the appropriateness of advertising expenses. Research design, data, and methodology - A total of 219 copies of effective questionnaires were used and methodologies such as Cronbach's alpha, paired samples t-test, and structural equation modeling (SEM) were conducted. Results - The results showed that the consumer model was effective at PSA, while celebrities and CEOs were effective at commercial advertising. Further, only credibility (among source credibility) made a significant difference in the test of PSA models of both PSA and commercial advertising that consumers preferred. Conclusions - The advertising model types varied depending on advertising types (for example, PSA and commercial advertising). Therefore, celebrities and CEOs appearing in commercial advertising should have no ethical or moral defect by self-control, and marketers should elect the model considering such a fact.

사업용 운전자를 위한 상황인식 검사의 개발과 타당화 (Development and Validation of Situation Awareness Tests for Commercial Drivers)

  • 본 연구는 사업용 운전자들의 상황인식 능력이 사고 유발 회수나 심각성, 벌점 등과 관련성이 있는지 알아보기 위한 목적을 가지고 진행되었다. 이를 위해 상황인식의 지각 단계와 이해 단계의 능력을 측정하기 위한 상황지각 검사와 위험판단 검사를 제작하고, 운전정밀 특별검사 대상자인 사업용 운전자 228명에게 새로 개발된 시뮬레이터 기기를 이용하여 상황지각 검사와 위험판단 검사를 시행하였다. 개발된 과제의 수행 결과는 최종 5등급으로 판정이 내려지도록 설계되었는데 가장 수행이 좋은 경우 1등급, 수행이 나쁜 경우 5등급 판정을 받도록 하였다. 연구 결과, 상황지각 검사에서의 저조한 등급은 누산벌점과 사고 다발도, 안전도 지수와 정적인 상관이 있었으며 위험판단 검사의 등급은 사고 다발도와 안전도 지수와 정적인 상관이 있었다. 이는 사업용 운전자들의 상황인식 능력이 법규위반 및 사고 유발 경향과 관련이 있음을 보여준다.

상용 버스용 알루미늄 시트 프레임의 개발에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Development of Aluminum Seat Frame for Commercial Bus)

  • This study presents the development of a new aluminum seat frame for the commercial bus. Back moment and seat belt anchorage analysis of the conventional steel seat frame was conducted as a base model. Effective aluminum section dimensions for aluminum pipe were calculated from equivalent stiffness and equivalent weight study. Back moment and seat belt anchorage strength with the developed aluminum seat frame were compared to those of the base model. Additionally, to pass the fatigue test, shape modification of side frame assembly was conducted. From this study we could reduce the weight of seat frame more than 5 kg. And the current analysis model and procedure can provide useful informations in designing a new commercial car seat and can reduce the overall design cost and time.

  • Naval equipments are installed and used for naval vessel with different environmental conditions comparing to the commercial vessel, for example, high engine power per ship displacement size, severe vibration and shock due to high running speed and explosion from naval gun's bombardment and underwater weapons. Therefore, those equipments must be installed on shipboard with small spaces, high ambient temperature around engine room and which are required be fabricated with high resistances of vibration, shock and heat resources. But in case of commercial vessel, the performances of their recent equipments naval have been improved continuously due to the technology development of domestic shipbuilding and shipboard equipment industries, together with the related fundamental industries i.e, metal, steel and electronic industries, to an international level since 1970. With these results, it became possible to unify the specifications of shipboard equipments for the commercial and military vessels(Dual-Use). In this study, vibration and shock test standards for the commercial and military vessels will be compared and reviewed technically.

관능검사법(官能檢査法)에 의한 식품(食品)의 품질평가(品質評價)에 관(關)한 연구(硏究) -제(第) 2 보(報) : 우유 및 분유의 관능품질(官能品質)의 평가시험(評價試驗)- (Studies on the Evaluation for the Quality of Food by Sensory Testing -II. Evaluation for the Sensory Quality of Milk and Dried Milk-)

  • 시판(市販) 우유 및 분유를 시료(試料)로 하여 관능(官能) 검사법(檢査法)에 의한 품질(品質) 평가(評價)를 실시하여 다음과 같은 결과(結果)를 얻었다. 1. 시판(市販) 우유에 대한 순위(順位) 시험(試驗) 결과(結果), 5개(個) 회사(會社) 제품별(製品別) 시료(試料)의 품질(品質) 및 기호도(嗜好度)에 있어서 5% 수준(水準)에서 유의적(有意的)인 차이(差異)가 인정(認定)되지 않았다. 2. 채점(採點) 시험(試驗)에 의한 시판(市販) A우유의 shelf life 검사(檢査) 결과(結果), $0{\sim}5^{\circ}C$$10^{\circ}C$에서는 3일간(日間), $20^{\circ}C$, $30^{\circ}C$에서는 1일(日) 정도 품질(品質)이 유지되었다. 3. 시판(市販) C분유(粉乳)에 대한 희석(稀釋) 검사(檢査) 결과(結果), 희석(稀釋) 계수(係數)가 20.0으로 시료(試料) 분유(粉乳)의 품질(品質)은 비교적 양호(良好)하였다. 4. 시판(市販) 우유에 대한 풍미(風味) 묘사(描寫) 시험(試驗) 결과(結果), 각 우유의 풍미(風味)는 종합적으로 우수하게 평가(評價)되었으며, 구성(構成) 풍미(風味)의 강도(强度)는 회사(會社) 제품(製品) 별(別)로 다소(多少)의 차이(差異)를 나태내었다. 5. 시판(市販) 5개(個) 회사(會社) 제품(製品) 별(別) 우유의 풍미(風味)에 대한 차이(差異) 식별(識別) 시험(試驗)이나 묘사(描寫) 시험(試驗)에서는 뚜렷한 차이(差異)를 나타내었으나 순위(順位) 시험(試驗)에서는 유의적(有意的)인 차이(差異)가 인정(認定)되지 않았다.

  • 실험실(實驗室) 소비자(消費者) 파넬을 대상으로 시판(市販) 우유에 대한 기호(嗜好) 조사(調査) 시험(試驗)을 실시하여 다음과 같은 결과(結果)를 얻었다. 1. 시판(市販) A 우유와 각종 우유 사이에 대한 2점(點) 기호(嗜好) 조사(調査) 시험(試驗) 결과(結果), 소비자(消費者) 기호(嗜好) 선택(選擇)에 있어서 5% 수준(水準)에서 유의적(有意的)인 차이(差異)가 인정(認定)되지 않았다. 2. 시판(市販) 우유에 대한 기호(嗜好) 척도(尺度) 시험(試驗) 결과(結果), 시료간(試料間)이나 파넬원 간(間) 모두가 5% 수준(水準)에서 유의적(有意約)인 차이(差累)가 인정(認定)되지 않았다. 3. 시판(市販) 우유에 대한 기호(嗜好) 빈도(頻度) 시험(試驗) 결과(結果) ‘기회만 있으면 언제나 먹겠다’가 39%로 가장 높았다. 4. 우유의 시음(試飮) 온도(溫度)에 따른 우유 풍미(風味)에 관한 기호성(嗜好性)을 조사(調査)한 결과(結果), $20^{\circ}C$에서 마실 때가 가장 높았다. 5. 전보(前報)(한국식품과학회지, 12 (3), 150 및 158(1980))에서 행한 차이(差異) 식별(識別) 시험(試驗)이나 묘사(描寫) 시험(試驗)에서는 시판(市販) 5개(個) 회사(會社) 제품별(製品別) 우유 풍미(風味)에 대한 차이(差異)가 인정(認定)되었으나 순위(順位) 시험(試驗)이나 기호(嗜好) 선택(選擇) 및 기호(嗜好) 척도(尺度) 시험(試驗)에서는 유의적(有意的)인 차이(差異)를 나타내지 않음을 알 수 있는데, 이것은 순위(順位) 시험(試驗)이나 기호(嗜好) 선택(選擇) 및 척도(尺度) 시험(試驗)이 파넬원들간의 기호성(嗜好性)의 차이(差異), 품질(品質) 기준(基準)의 차이(差異) 등(等)에 의하여 많은 영향을 받는다는 사실을 시사하는 것으로 고려된다.

디젤엔진 오일의 제조 및 성능 평가 (Preparation and Field Test of Diesel Engine Oil)

  • A diesel engine oil which was formulated and a commercial diesel engine oil (API CG4) made from same base oil were tested by car and analyzed of their physical, chemical and mechanical properties. The tested oil to be analyzed were sampled from engine every 1000 km until 8000 km and determined the kinematic viscosity, TAN, TBN, metal content in oil, additive depletion, antiwear property and IR analysis. From the study, both the tested oils were almost same properties for the change of TAN and TBN, but the change of kinematic viscosity of formulated oil was slightly higher than that of commercial oil. But the concentration of metal in the formulated oil, especially iron, were increased much less during test. The iron content of the commercial oil was increase rapidly from 7000 km while the formulated oil was still low. These results were conformed by the antiwear test by 4-ball wear test machine for the samples. Also for the commercial oil, the depletion factor of the Zn-DTP which was added as an antiwear property was not change any more after 7000 km. But the formulated oil was change continuously until 8000 km, which mean that the ability of wear protection of the sliding parts exists for the formulated oil. With the results which were analyzed of the properties of oils by field test, it was found that the commercial oil could be used only within 7000 km, but the formulated oil can use more than 8000 km without severe wear of the sliding parts in the diesel engine.

Macroeconomic and Bank-Specific Variables and the Liquidity of Jordanian Commercial Banks

  • This study aimed to explore the impact of macroeconomic (Real GDP growth (GDPG), Inflation rate (INF)) and bank -specific variables (profitability (ROA), capital adequacy (CADEQ), non-performing loans (NPL), deposit growth (DEPG)) on the liquidity (lIQ) of 13 listed Jordanian commercial banks for the period 2011-2018. Panel data analysis, Pooled least square, fixed effects model and random effects model, Lagrange multiplier test, and Hausman test were used. The random effects model output shows that, macroeconomic variables have a significant impact on Jordanian commercial banks liquidity since inflation has a positive impact while GDPG has a negative impact on banks (LIQ). On the other hand among the bank-specific variables capital adequacy and deposit growth have a positive significant impact on banks (LIQ), while (NPL) and (SIZE) have a negative significant impact on Jordanian commercial banks liquidity. But ROA has a negative insignificant impact on (LIQ). The findings of the study suggest that commercial banks departments need to pay attention to the economic and internal variables of banks in order to maintain acceptable levels of liquidity.

Implementation of GPS Spoofing Test Environment using Multiple GPS Simulators

  • A Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS), which is typically exemplified by the Global Positioning System (GPS), employs a open signal structure so it is vulnerable to spoofing electronic attack using a similar malicious signal with that used in the GPS. It is necessary to require a spoofing test evaluation environment to check the risk of spoofing attack and evaluate the performance of a newly developed anti-spoofing technique against spoofing attacks. The present paper proposed a simulation method of spoofing environment based on simulator that can be implementable in a test room and analyzed the spoofing simulation performance using commercial GPS receivers. The implemented spoofing simulation system ran synchronized two GPS simulator modules in a single scenario to generate both of spoofing and GPS signals simultaneously. Because the signals are generated in radio frequency, a commercial GPS receiver can be tested using this system. Experimental test shows the availability of this system, and anti-spoofing performance of a commercial GPS receiver has been analyzed.

  • This paper discusses the combustion characteristics of water emulsified fuel produced by swirl impinging mixer. The experiments are given in a test boiler and a commercial boiler. Flame temperatures, flame shapes and exhaust emissions are measured in the test boiler, and thermal efficiency is tested in the commercial boiler. The test data show the water in oil makes the flame wider and shorter, the flame temperature lower and the NOx and smoke lower. Also, the commercial boiler test shows the thermal efficiency increases as well as the emissions decrease.
