  • The feasibility of generating controller surface topographies in single-point conventional turning operations is investigated. First, a mathematical model of the surface generation process was developed. Second, in order to control the texture of the machined surface, a micro-positioning stage and the associated command generation software were designed and built. Experimental examples have shown that surface texture can be precisely controlled and is in good agrement with the theoretical predictions.

  • A robot manipulator is usually operated in two modes: free motion and constraint motion depending on whether the robot comes into contact with the environment or not. At the moment of contact, impact occurs, and sometimes, it possibly degrade the robot's performance by vibration and at worst, shortens its lifetime. In this article, a new proposed algorithm is described by introducing a command signal modification method on the basis of impedance control and a validity of the proposed algorithm is demonstrated by showing a simulation and an experiment.

  • An optimal flight motion simulator path generation method is proposed for hardware in the loop simulation of high maneuverable missile. The proposed method consists of open loop and closed loop path calculation algorithm based on the energy optimal control strategies. The optimal angle command is able to protect the simulator from high acceleration shock at initial control phase.

  • In this paper, we propose dynamic hybrid control method which takes the manipulator dynamics into consideration and extend to two cooperating robots. The first step is the linearization of the manipulator dynamics and the second step is the design of position/force controllers for the linearized model which takes account of both the command response and the robustness of the controllers to modeling errors and disturbance. We also consider load sharing for each robot.

  • Recently, realization of an intelligent cooperative interaction system between a man and robot systems is required. In this paper, HyperCard with a voice control is used for above system because of its easy handling and excellent human interfaces. Clicking buttons in the HyperCard by a mouse device or a voice command means controlling each joint of a robot system. Robot teaching operation of grasping a bin and pouring liquid in it into a cup is carried out. This robot teaching method using HyperCard provides a foundation for realizing a user friendly cooperative interaction system.

  • A neural networks (NN) saturation compensation scheme for DC motor systems is presented. The scheme that leads to stability, command following and disturbance rejection is rigorously proved. On-line weights tuning law, the overall closed loop performance and the boundness of the NN weights are derived and guaranteed based on Lyapunov approach. The simulation and experimental results show that the proposed scheme effectively compensate for saturation nonlinearity in the presence of system uncertainty.

  • The new controller which conststs of IBM-PC/AT, SBC, servo module and motor driver has been developed for KIMMBOT II robot. The servo module which controls two axes at the same time also has beendeveloped. This module inputs relative number of pulse and feedrate via multbus, after then outputs analog command voltage with reference to feedback pulses from the encoder of a motor. This system has a great flexibility. The reduction of parts gives more reliability.

  • A wireless communication module for multiple PLC was developed. The function of the developed system are dual communication, concurrent multiple communication. PLC control, d interpretation of PLC command, and A/D D/A converting. The multiple communication approach is based on master-slave control concept. To show validity of the developed module, severial experiments are illustrated.

  • This paper presents a control scheme to stabilize a two-axes microwave antenna system which is located on a ship and is subject to roll, pitch and yaw(RPY) motions. The scheme first computes the compensated angular positions of the antenna for RPY disturbances through coordinate transformations, and then use a servo con roller of PID type for each axis to track the compensated position command with a good transient behavior.
