Simulation and Control performance evaluation of Ultra-Precision Single Plane X-Y Stage (초정밀 평면 X-Y 스테이지의 시뮬레이션 및 제어성능 평가)

  • In this study, actuator, sensor, guide, power transmission element and control method are considered for ultra-precision positioning apparatus. Through previous process, single plane X-Y stage with ultra-precision positioning is manufactured. Global stage for the purpose of materialization with robust system, is combined by using AC servo motor and ball screw and rolling guide. And ultra-precision positioning system is developed by micro stage with elastic hinge type and piezo element. global servo and micro servo for the purpose of materialization positioning accuracy with nm(nanometer) are controlled simultaneously by using incremental encoder and laser interferometer as displacement measurement sensor. Through previous process, ultra-precision positioning system(100mm stroke and $\pm$ l0nm positioning accuracy) with single plane X-Y stage are materialized.

  • This paper proposes a combined controller frame of the adaptive robust control(ARC) and the sliding mode control(SMC) for the trajectory tracking control of the excavator to preserve the advantages of the both methods while overcoming their drawbacks, namely, asymptotic stability of adaptive system fir parametric uncertainties and guaranteed transient performance of sliding mode control for both parametric uncertainties and external disturbance. The suggested control technique is applied for the tracking of a straight-line motion of end-effector of manipulators, and through computer simulations, its trajectory tracking performances and the robustness to payload variation and uncertainties are illustrated.

  • Contouring accuracy of CNC machine tools is very important for high-speed and high-precision machining. In particular, large contour error may occur during corner tracking. In order to reduce the corner contouring error, acceleration and deceleration control or tool-path planning methods have been suggested. However, they do not directly control the corner contouring error. In the meantime, network servo systems are widely used because of their easiness of building and cost effectiveness. Communication latency between the master controller and servo drives, however, may deteriorate contouring accuracy especially during corner tracking. This paper proposes a control strategy that can accurately calculate and directly control the corner contouring error. A prediction control is combined with the above control to cope with communication latency. The proposed control method is evaluated through computer simulation and experiments. The results show its validity and usefulness.

  • In real time packetized voice applications, missing frames is a major source of voice quality degradation. Thus packet loss concealment(PLC) algorithms are needed to guarantee the QoS of the VoIP. Still current speech codecs for VoIP work poor when consecutive packet losses are issued. In this paper, we proposed a new PLC algorithm for the G.729 codec. Our algorithm works better especially when the consecutive packet loss occurs mainly because it adopts an adaptive gain controller utilizing the number of missing packet information combined with a fixed codebook vector estimation algorithm and LPC bandwidth expansion.

  • There-have been many control strategies for the enact joint position tracking of flexible manipulators, but direct cartesian space tracking control methods an not developed well. In this paper, we propose a PD control method based on the cartesian error in the end point trajectory tracking. the proposed controller is composed of PD control combined with nonlinear saturation term hut has a very simple form. the effect of this term is continuous suppression of vibration which is induced by the coupling of rigid motion. This control works both on the regulation and on the tracking cases. The performance and validity of this control method is shown by simulation examples.

  • Analog PID controllers have been designed to make good use of position control in industries. Recently, the importance of digital position control is emphasized for the requirements of controller which are not only to control the objects but to include various aspects such as easiness of design and implementation, simple exchange of control program and convenient communications of data between various controllers and a host computer. This study proposes a combined control method which is mixed the vaiable structure control (VSC) with the PI control for minimum time position control of DC servo motor by microcomputer. The results of test by this method show offset-free and minimum time optimal position control which is not affected by the disturbance and the system parameter variations. The validity of the proposed method comparing with the conventional PID control is proved by the response experiments.

  • This paper presents an autopilot design method for STT missiles using the intelligent control technique and multiple controllers. The mixed $H_2/H_{\infty}$ control technique is applied for each controller design and the control gains are implemented by using the genetic searching algorithm. To facilitate automatic switching of multiple controllers under different operating conditions, an error based switching scheme is also combined with the multiple controllers at a higher level, which constitutes a hierarchical intelligent control system. It is shown via computer simulation that the proposed autopilot outperforms the conventional one.

  • This paper studies the coordinated trajectory control of an excavator as a kind of robotic manipulators driven by hydraulic actuators. Hydraulic robot system has many non-linearity in dynamics and kinematics, and strong coupling among joints(or hydraulic cylinders).   • The DTV (Digital TV) tuner for an 8-VSB (Vestigial Side-Band) modulation was developed to meet the requirements of the ATSC (Advanced Television Systems Committee). The double frequency conversion and the active tracking filter in the front-end were used to cancel interferences between adjacent channels and multi-channels by suppressing the IF beat and the Image frequency. However, It was impossible to get frequency mapping between the tracking filter and the first VCO (Voltage Controlled Oscillator) in the existing DTV tuner structure which differs from the NTSC (National Television Systems Committee) tuner. This paper, therefore, suggests an assailable structure and a new method for the automatic frequency selection by mapping the frequency characteristics over the tracking voltage and the combined HW which is composed of a Micro-controller, an EEPROM (Electrically Erasable Programmable Read Only Memory), a DAC (Digital-to-Analog Converter), an OP amplifier, and a switch driver.

  • This paper discusses local reactive power control method of substation which has FACTS controller(STATCOM) and other reactive power controllers. Not only The relation between entral control and local control method was discussed, but also local STATCOM control methd was done. With this results, revised coordinative control method which can implement system voltage sensitivity characteristics of each control devices. Also, this method can give proper solution for system status which requires momentary reactive reserve. This method is expected to be applied to control multiple substation reactive power devices which is combined with SCADA system.
