편심축하중을 받는 강섬유보강 콘크리트 기둥의 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on Eccentrically Loaded Steel Fiber Reinforced Concrete Columns)

  • An experimental study on the behavior of Steel Fiber Reinforced Concrete Columns under eccentric compression are presented. Forth-one columns were tested; the variables were column type, eccentricity of load, fiber contents, and longitudinal reinforcement ratio. The column size was $250\times160$ mm in cross section with an effective length of 1150 mm. Eccentricity of load was varied in the range from 1/6 to 1/2 times the column depth. This paper is to provides a framework for basic understanding of the steel fiber concrete columns.

Evaluation on Interaction Surface of Plastic Resistance for Exposed-type Steel Column Bases under Biaxial Bending

  • Exposed-type steel column bases are used widely in low-rise building construction. Numerous researchers have examined methods to identify their stiffness and strength, but those studies have heretofore been restricted to in-plane behaviors. This paper presents an experimental investigation of inelastic behaviors of square hollow section (SHS) steel column bases under biaxial bending. Two types of failure modes are considered : anchor bolt yielding and base plate yielding. Different pinching effects and interaction surfaces for biaxial bending are observed for these two modes during bi-directional quasi-static cyclic loading tests. Differences are elucidated using limit analyses based on a simple analytical model.

Finite element analysis of RC beam-column joints with high-strength materials

  • Reinforced concrete (RC) interior beam-column joints with high-strength materials: concrete compressive strength of 100 MPa and the yield strength of longitudinal bars of 685 MPa, were analyzed using three-dimensional (3-D) nonlinear finite element method (FEM). Specimen OKJ3 of joint shear failure type was a plane interior joint, and Specimen 12 of beam flexural failure type was a 3-D interior joint with transverse beams. Though the analytical initial stiffness was higher than experimental one, the analytical results gave a good agreement with the test results on the maximum story shear forces, the failure mode.

  • Due to the structural complexity and the mutual interference of "water columns", the estimations of absorption power for a large wave energy conversion devices of flosting type in ocean could not achieve the desired results. Thus, in this paper the authors will propose a new methodology based on the three dimensional source ditribution method. We distributed the source to the device and the thin & light plate in "water column", And from the behaviour of this plated, the power and the pressure in water column are calculated. But, yet method should be proved to be valid by experiment.

Application of tire powder and food waste compost as biofilter materials to degrade volatile organic compounds

  • The present study has been conflicted to verify the applicability of tire powder and food waste compost as biofilter materials to degrade volatile organic compounds. Batch and column tests were performed to determine the optimum ratio of tire powder to compost and the appropriate mixing type of two materials for removal of the selected VOCs, i.e., benzene, ethylbenzene, PCE, and TCE. According to batch tests, tire powder and compost mixture had faster removal rate than the compost. The biofilter column filled with tire powder and compost showed better VOC removal efficiency than that filled with only tire powder. In this study, the best removal rate was observed in the sandwich type column test of which the tire : compost weight ratio was 1:2

  • The structure of a variable liquid column oscillator(a VLCO) is analogous to that of the tuned liquid column damper used to suppress oscillatory motion in large structures like tall buildings and cargo ships. The VLCO is a system absorbing high kinetic energy of accelerated motions of multiple floating bodies in the effect of air springs occurred by installation of inner air chambers. Thus, VLCO can improve the efficiency of energy than wave energy converters of the activating object type made in Pelamis Company. In this research, the experiment was performed that a simple floating body was filled with internal fluid of same draft. The characteristics of motions were evaluated in each case of the opening or closing of the upper valves.

The VLCO is a system absorbing high kinetic energy of accelerated motions of the multiple floating bodies in the effect of air springs occurred by installation of inner air chambers. Thus, VLCO can improve the efficiency of energy than wave energy converters of the activating object type made in Pelamis Company. In this research, the experiment was performed in two models of same draft. The one is that weights were filled, and the other is that water was filled. The numerical results were estimated by assuming that do not exist internal flow, and the results were compared with the results of experiments.

  • Geothermal heat pump system using standing column wells as their ground heat exchanger can be used as a highly efficient source of heating and cooling in massive buildings. But there is no case of a small scale residential house. So this study estimated heating coefficient of performance(COP) of geothermal heat pump system using standing column well type which is excellent in heat recovery in the residential house. As a result of analysis, The COP of heat pump is over average 6 and is excellent. And in consequence of making a comparative study according to the bleeding, the cop is higher in the case of bleeding. Therefore, bleeding affects the performance of the system. This study has shown performance result that stands on actual data. Therefore, this study provides ground data that needs when a low capacity of system designs for a residence with confidence elevation.

  • Green Frame is precast concrete column-beam structure. There are three types on column connection. The coupler type which is one of the three, need to be improved because of unstability caused by pre-installation of column before casting the slab, and quality deterioration caused by lack of workspace. Therefore, in this study, new coupler connection type with thread rebar is suggested. The result of this study shall be used for the efficiency analysis of the new coupler connection.

  • The objective of this study was to investigate the extraction of chromium(Vl) ion in waste water through the liquid surfactant membrane with open-type Perforated Reciprocating-Plate Column. Extraction experiments were conducted to measure the effect of flow characteristics of continuous and dispersed phase and stroke velocity, sodium hydroxide concentraction in internal aqueous phase, sulfuric acid concentraction in outer phase, and residence time distribution and measured extraction velocity. The result of experiments showed that extraction velocity of chromium ion was maximum when stroke velocity was 180 1/min and dispersion phase velocity was 30m11min, continuous phase velocity was 20m1/min. Extraction velocity of chromium ion increased with increasing difference of hydrogen ion concentraction of dispersion and continuous phase and column stage decreased.
