본 논문에서는 영상내의 얼굴과 헤어의 컬러와 기하학적 특징을 이용하는 얼굴 검출 알고리즘을 제안한다. 컬러 특성을 이용하여 얼굴과 헤어의 후보영역을 검출 한 후, 이 영역들의 조도에 대한 편차를 이용하여 배경 영역을 제거한다. 그리고 얼굴과 헤어가 인접하는 기하학적 특징을 이용하여 여러 후보영역 중 실제 얼굴영역을 검출한다. 제안한 알고리즘 성능은 실험 영상에 대한 얼굴의 검출률 실험을 통하여 평가 되었으며, 실험결과 높은 검출률을 보였다.

The development of universal CCD camera control software for all BOAO CCD camera systems is proposed. The new software, running under Sun SPARCstation and motif based X window system with SunOS 4.1.3 operating system, replaces existing control software based on NeXTstation color and NeXTstep 2.1 operating system which is no more produced now. Several new features of the new software is introduced, some of which are 1) the image contrast is enhanced by color manipulation and display, 2) image zooming and trimming, 3) any size of image can be displayed in the scrolled window, and 4) the offset between telescope pointing position and CCD center is easily calculated by alt-azi map. Along with the above new features, the new software has advantages including ease of maintenance and upgrading and elimination of risk caused by hardware damage. Since September 1, the software beta version is being used by observers and there is not seen severe problem regarding the software itself, but several requests to equip more features to the software will be mirrored to future release.

본 논문에서는 칼라 인접성과 기울기를 이용한 새로운 내용 기반 영상 검색 방법을 제안한다. 칼라 영상의 특징 정보로 사용되는 칼라 히스토그램은 시점이나 영상의 회전등의 영향을 적게 받고 특징 정보의 계산이 간단하고 빠른 장점이 있지만 칼라의 위치 정보를 나타낼 수 없기 때문에 균일 양자화에 의해 비슷한 히스토그램을 가진 서로 다른 영상을 구별하지 못하고 특징 저장량이 많은 등 단점이 있다. 제안한 방법은 기존의 방법들에서 보편적으로 사용하는 양자화 대신 영상에서의 인접 화소의 칼라 변화량 즉 기울기를 계산하여 보다 정확한 색차를 구함으로써 비슷한 칼라가 서로 다르게 양자화됨으로 인한 오차를 감소시켰다. 동시에 영상의 주요 칼라 구성 특징을 나타나는 칼라 인접성 정보를 추출하여 이진 배열로 표시함으로써 특징 정보의 방대한 저장량을 줄이고 비교속도를 향상시켰다. 실험 결과 기존의 검색 방법에 비하여 제안한 방법은 적은 특징 저장 양으로 외부조건의 변화에 더욱 강건함을 보여주고 있다.

Methods of Object recognition from camera image are to compare features of color. edge or pattern with model in a general way. SIFT(scale-invariant feature transform) has good performance but that has high complexity of computation. Using simple color histogram has low complexity. but low performance. In this paper we represent a model as a color cooccurrence histogram. and we improve performance using pyramid matching. The color cooccurrence histogram keeps track of the number of pairs of certain colored pixels that occur at certain separation distances in image space. The color cooccurrence histogram adds geometric information to the normal color histogram. We suggest object recognition by pyramid matching of color cooccurrence histogram.

The digital space color of new media environment denied not only the deterministic relationship of designed color and circumjacent color but also the deduced an special elements of digital space color. Such phenomena historical perspective of Gernot Wersig, new media principle of Lev Manovich and remediation of Bolter, J.K & Grusin, R. are expressed in various new media environment across. In particular, development of digital technology is moving away from its previous space color based on scientific, statistical and quantitative perspective by using diverse variables. The following research focuses on the fundamental concept of space color by type, composition of digital space color. The paper reflects on the meaning and concept of contemporary which enables the application of digital space color system on space through advanced technology. The principle of digital space color such as multidimensional malerisch, discontinuous video, vague original and copy, irregular repetitiveness of 'copy of copy', selective color of observer, experiential color of observer, and etc. makes it possible to extract the expressed element and method of digital space color. Meanwhile, the features of digital space color such as divided field of form, non-systematized of process and collage of communication can be inferred from case analysis.

The epidermal color is one of factors the space for ages. Instead of the epidermal color expression, it made with material and decoration under structure for make shade of meaning before have the new media. But now a days, the epidermal color of the fashion store is getting free owe to the development of color harmony, has a great notion that gets out of the subordinate from color, and it is a emphasized factor with expression and self-control. The epidermal color of the fashion store makes an effort to accept the development and changing of new media. It should show that there role and function is changing constantly according to a new technology, and it gave a motivation for reanalysis about existence and expression of the epidermal color. The purpose of this research is that look around the feature of the epidermal color system, elements, and principle. Then contemporary fashion store is expressive characteristics of epidermal color. Using epidermal color is not common, we can find lots of the case with surface color, layer color, interface color, though. The paper reflects on the meaning and concept of fashion store which enables the application of expressive characteristics on space through advanced technology. Meanwhile, the features of epidermal color such as immateriality of process and communication can be inferred from case analysis.

The purpose of this study is to ascertain the color design element in traditional palaces among those in the neighboring three nations of East Asia, notably Korea, China and Japan. Undoubtedly the ultimate goal to be pursued, by so doing, has to be inquiry into the identical prototype of Korean color design element. The East Asian color palette is rich in symbolic meaning, mostly these color are in harmony with the nature and human life. In this study, the color of the traditional palace is characterized by the actual color use. The colors of China are various, but they concentration R～G, middle/high level of chroma. In Korea, the colors in palace are distributed in YR/GY, middle/low chroma, relatively higher value. While the major features of Japan color are YR/achromatic with middle/low levels of value and chroma.

This study is aimed at understanding the color extendibility of color-field abstract through Mark Rothko's paintings. Color extendibility is a structure applied by Mark Rothko. He simplifies it and by pursuing autonomy and immediacy of the color itself, including surface color and the front of color-field, Rothko creates value through motions in his square paintings of non-fixed shapes. Chapter 2 revisits the meaning of color in abstract expressionism and explains the principle of color-field by applying the concept of ergon and parergon. In chapter 3, the principle, processes, methods, techniques of expression were studied as a basis to understand color extendibility and color-field abstract. In chapter 4, the works of Mark Rothko were analyzed based on his multiform paintings(1946-1948), number and untitled(1949-1957), and black paintings(1958-1970) in order to identify, in the final chapter, the features of color extendibility in Rothko's works. According to the above research, the thesis successfully concludes that the artist's reconstruction of reality and readjustment of transcendent reality are reproduced via color extendibility, the movement of color-field.

Architectural color would be understood as a essential tool to be reflected the architect's value criteria, thinking process and the specific methodology. This study was established the characteristics of color use correlated with Eisenman's architectural features based on his point of view. At first, it could be organized with data and use the color in view points with the becomming process. Especially it would be expressed the color as a trace of unsynchronized formation. Second, it was introduced the color by graphics engaged with form, to be expressed the dividing, folding, reiteration for deliver of escape from graphic thinking process. Third, it was analyzed to be imported the color to have a multi-lateral space experience in center of user's space recognition and behavior by introduction of color. Finally, it could be inducted the consistent color by viewpoint of interfacial between interior and exterior environment, communicated with strong meaning by conversion from interior elements to color from these processes. A characteristics of Eisenman's architecture color is reflected his thinking process in architecture color as it is and can be understand of 'becomming process use of color' as a tool that is corresponded in form creation. Specially, it would be kept continuous viewpoint of interior and exterior space, giving user color as a viewpoint of linking space, enable many-sidedness experiences through space.

본 논문에서는 실 도로 영상에서 속도 표지판을 인식하는 방법을 제안한다. 기존의 표지판 인식의 방법들은 조명 변화에 민감하고 반복적인 형태 특징까지 추출하여 인식 성능이 감소하는 단점이 있다. 제안한 방법은 가중치가 적용된 YUV 색상 모델을 이용함으로써 속도 표지판의 색 특성을 강조하였으며 또한 표지판 후보 영역에 관심영역을 국부적으로 제한함으로써 인식 성능을 개선하였다. 이때, 검출과 인식을 위해서는 하 특징을 이용한 아다부스트 분류기를 사용하였다. 제안한 방법을 다양한 속도 및 환경하에서 실험한 결과 기존의 방법들보다 인식의 성능이 향상되었음을 확인하였다.
