We present B VRI CCD surface photometry for the central $(6'.35\times6'.35)$ regions of the dwarf elliptical galaxies NGC 185 and NGC 205 in the Local Group. Surface brightness profiles of NGC 185 (R<225') and NGC 205 (R<186') show excess components in the central regions. The colors of NGC 185 get bluer inward at R<25', while they remain constant at $R\geq25'$. The colors of NGC 205 get bluer inward at 1'$\approx10^5\; L_\bigodot$. Distributions of dust clouds in the central regions of the two galaxies are also investigated.
Infrared emissions from spherical dust, clouds are calculated using quasi-diffusion method. We have employed graphite-silicate mixture with power-law size distribution for the dust model. The grains are assumed to be heated and cooled by radiative processes only. The primary heating source is diffuse interstellar radiation field. hut the cases with an embedded source are also considered. Since graphite grains have higher temperature than silicate grains, the observed IR emission is mainly due to graphite grains, unless the fraction of graphite grains is negligibly small. The color temperature of Bok globules obtained from IRAS 60 and $100{\mu}m$ data are found to be consistent with the dust cloud with graphite-silicate mixture exposed to average interstellar radiation field. The color temperature is sensitive to the external radiation field, but rather insensitive to the size distribution of the grains. We found that the density distribution can be recovered outside the beam size using the inversion technique that assumes negligible optical depth. However, the information within the beam size is lost for if beam convolved intensity distributions are used in deriving density profile.
The Main-belt asteroid (298) Baptistina (hereafter 'Baptistina') is regarded as an X- (or C-) type asteroid and the largest member of the Baptistina asteroid family. Its basic physical properties play an important role in understanding the rotational evolution and orbital dynamics of the Baptistina family. In this study, we determined the physical characteristics of Baptistina from the optical observations. We conducted BVRI and R band photometric observations from 2017 to 2021 for a total of 47 nights using the 0.5 - 2.0 m-class telescopes. As a result, the color indices of Baptistina were derived as, , and ; this result is consistent with the previous classification of Baptistina as an X- (or C-) type. We also determined absolute magnitude () and slope parameter () by using a simplified version of the IAU H & G function (Bowell et al. 1989) are mag and respectively. We calculated the effective radius of Baptistina of km considering the visual geometric albedo of 0.131 from the NEOWISE data. Using the light-curve inversion method, the sidereal rotation period of 16.224235 h and the 3D shape model with a pole orientation (,) were also determined. In this presentation we will introduce our observations and results, and also discuss about the physical properties of Baptistina asteroid family members such as color indices.

S-PVA is a new technology which enables screen quality advantages over S-IPS and MVA, including high transmittance, >1000:1 contrast ratio, sub-10ms response time, and wide angle of view with no off-axis image inversion and undetectable gamma distortion. This new technology will be described in detail. This paper also addresses the other remaining performance issues facing LCD-TV, including Samsung's plans for addressing these challenges. For example, until recently, inter-gray response time and associated motion blur were significant issues for achieving LCD-TV images quality. Samsung has invented DCC-II technology to achieve sub-10ms response time, and this achievement is described herein. Other technology advancements, including next-generation color performance and ultra-low black performance and improvement of off axis image quality are also discussed in this paper.
This study presents two reversible data hiding schemes based on the coefficient shifting (CS) algorithm. The first scheme uses the CS algorithm with a mean predictor in the spatial domain to provide a large payload while minimizing distortion. To guard against manipulations, the second scheme uses a robust version of the CS algorithm with feature embedding implemented in the integer wavelet transform domain. Simulations demonstrate that both the payload and peak signal-to-noise ratio generated by the CS algorithm with a mean predictor are better than those generated by existing techniques. In addition, the marked images generated by the variant of the CS algorithm are robust to various manipulations created by JPEG2000 compression, JPEG compression, noise additions, (edge) sharpening, low-pass filtering, bit truncation, brightness, contrast, (color) quantization, winding, zigzag and poster edge distortion, and inversion.
This paper proposes two new methods to detect the fingerprints of different persons based on one-dimensional and two-dimensional discrete wavelet transformations (DWTs). Recent literature shows that fingerprint detection based on DWT requires less memory space compared to pattern recognition and moment-based image recognition techniques. In this study four statistical parameters - cross correlation co-efficient, skewness, kurtosis and convolution of the approximate coefficient of one-dimensional DWTs are used to evaluate the two methods involving fingerprints of the same person and those of different persons. Within the contexts of all statistical parameters in detection of fingerprints, our second method shows better results than that of the first method.
Red-orange phosphors $Gd_{1-x}PO_4:{Eu_x}^{3+}$ (x = 0, 0.05, 0.10, 0.15, 0.20) were synthesized with changing the concentration of $Eu^{3+}$ ions using a solid-state reaction method. The crystal structures, surface morphology, and optical properties of the ceramic phosphors were investigated using X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and photoluminescence (PL) spectrophotometry. The XRD results were in accordance with JCPDS (32-0386), and the crystal structures of all the red-orange phosphors were found to be a monoclinic system. The SEM results showed that the size of grains increases and then decreases as the concentration of $Eu^{3+}$ ionincreases. As for the PL properties, all of the ceramic phosphors, irrespective of $Eu^{3+}$ ion concentration, had orange and red emissions peaks at 594 nm and 613 nm, respectively. The maximum excitation and emission spectra were observed at 0.10 mol of $Eu^{3+}$ ion concentration, just like the grain size. An orange color stronger than the red means that $^5D_0{\rightarrow}^7F_1$ (magnetic dipole transition) is dominant over the $^5D_0{\rightarrow}^7F_2$ (electric dipole transition), and $Eu^{3+}$ is located at the center of the inversion symmetry. These properties contrasted with those of a red phosphor $Y_{1-x}PO_4:{Eu_x}^{3+}$, which has a tetragonal system. Therefore, we confirm that the crystal structure of the host material has a major effect on the resulting color.

Visible spectral characteristics of cross-sectional emissions from a partially premixed methane/air and propane/air flames have been investigated. An optical train with a two-axis scanning mirror system was used to record line-of-sight emission spectra from 354nm to 618nm, and inversion technique was adapted to obtain cross-sectional emission spectra. By analyzing the reconstructed emission spectra, cross-sectional intensities of CH and $C_2$ radicals were separated from the background emissions. The blue flame edge and yellow flame edge were also obtained by image processing technique for edge detection with color photograph of flame. These edges were compared with radial distributions of CH, $C_2$ radicals and background emissions. The CH radicals were observed at blue flame edge. The background emissions were generated by soot precursor at upstream of flame and by soot at downstream of flame. The $C_2$ radicals in propane/air flame were observed more than those in methane/air flame.

To minimize the damage by wild birds and acquire the benefits such as protection against weeds and maintenance of water content in soil, the mulching black color vinyl after seeding should be carried out. Non-contact and non-destructive methods that can continuously determine the locations are necessary. In this study, a crop position detection method was studied that uses infrared thermal image sensor to determine the cotyledon position under vinyl mulch. The moving system for acquiring image arrays has been developed for continuously detecting crop locations under plastic mulching on the field. A sliding mechanical device was developed to move the sensor, which were arranged in the form of a linear array, perpendicular to the array using a micro-controller integrated with a stepping motor. The experiments were conducted while moving 4.00 cm/s speed of the IR sensor by the rotational speed of the stepping motor based on a digital pulse width modulation signal from the micro-controller. The acquired images were calibrated with the spatial image correlation. The collected data were processed using moving averaging on interpolation to determine the frame where the variance was the smallest in resolution units of 1.02 cm. Non-linear integral interpolation was one of method for analyzing the frequency using the normalization image and then arbitrarily increasing the limited data value of $16{\times}4pixels$ in one frame. It was a method to relatively reduce the size of overlapping pixels by arbitrarily increasing the limited data value. The splitted frames into 0.1 units instead of 1 pixel can propose more than 10 times more accurate and original method than the existing correction method. The non-integral calibration method was conducted by applying the subdivision method to the pixels to find the optimal correction resolution based on the first reversed frequency. In order to find a correct resolution, the expected location of the first crop was indicated on near pixel 4 in the inversion frequency. For the most optimized resolution, the pixel was divided by 0.4 pixel instead of one pixel to find out where the lowest frequency exists.

Nano-emulsion with phase inversion temperature (PIT) emulsifying system was prepared to use rapeseed oil from originating Jeju in order to apply various cosmetic applications. Natural rape seed oil (NRSO) extraction was extracted using n-hexane as a solvent. NRSO extract showed a light yellowish color of viscous liquid as well as yield was $43{\pm}2.5%$. Acid value was $2.76{\pm}0.5$ and gravity was $0.89{\pm}0.05$. Droplet size of PIT-Yuche-NE with 20wt% of rapeseed oil was 50-120nm (average: $82{\pm}5.8nm$) and zeta potential was -29.5mV. It was thermodynamically good stable emulsion due to $(PEG)_{5-30}$fattyacidether. Some conclusions from the result of characteristic experiment were obtained as follows. First, the anti-oxidative activity was measured by free radical scavenging activity using DPPH (1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl radical). Anti-oxidative activity of PIT-Yuche-NE was $37.2{\pm}6.7%$ on 10mg/mL compared with PIT-Toco-NE (Natural tocopherol nano-emulsion, $28.8{\pm}6.5%$ on 10 mg/mL) and PIT-Nokcha-NE (Green tea extract nano-emulsion, $29.6{\pm}7.2%$ on 10mg/mL). Second, the collagen synthesis activity of PIT-Yuche-NE was $148{\pm}15.2%$ compared with PIT-Toco-NE (Natural tocopherol nano-emulsion, $121{\pm}13.5%$ on 10mg/mL) and PIT-Nokcha-NE (Green tea extract nano-emulsion, $95{\pm}12.7%$ on 10mg/mL). Third, the effectiveness of moisturizing activity of Yuche-CRM with Aramo-TS after 6 hours increase $47{\pm}3.9%$ (*p-value£0.05, n=7) whereas Both Toco-CRM was $30{\pm}5.2%$ (*p-value£0.05, n=7) and Nokcha-CRM was $35{\pm}4.5%$. Therefore, Yuche-CRM has higher moisturizing effect than other two creams. Finally, Nano-emulsion stabilizing rapeseed oil using PIT emulsifying system of this study can be used to apply cosmetics industry and pharmaceutical industry.
