Proposal of new dental color system through color research of restorative materials

  • The purpose of this study was to propose a new dental color system through color evaluation of generally used dental composite and porcelain. In this study, Vita Omega 900 dental porcelain and 10 kinds of composite resins were used. A disk specimens(15mm diameter, 4mm thickness) of each material/shade combination were made. Resin compasite was condensed into Teflon mold and pressed between glass plates to flatten the surface. Pressed compasite was polymerized using an Optilux 501(Demetron, USA) for 200 seconds of each side.(중략)

New design and its characteristics of full color anode panel for field emission display

  • Field Emission display (FEDs) require enhancement in both driving methods and process techniques to improve the display image quality. However, from the point of view of manufacturing, it is difficult to find methods and techniques to realize low cost manufacturing. New and simple color phosphor screen designs were suggested with non-crossed electrode lines and full color anode panels for small area displays were demonstrated. To avoid unwanted reaction with gases produced from phosphors in a high vacuum glass container, a very thin polyimide layer was coated on the phosphor screen. Moreover, to improve the display image quality, black matrix composed of inorganic materials was fabricated. This paper describes the performance and characteristics of the new full color anode panels.

다양한 세포외기질이 배양 골아세포의 이동에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Various Extracellular Matrices on Motility of Cultured MC3T3-E1 Cell)

  • Chemotactic migration of bone forming cell, osteoblast, is an important event during bone formation, bone remodeling, and fracture healing. Migration of cells is mediated by adhesion receptors, such as integrins, that link the cell to extracellular matrix ligands, type I collagen, fibronectin, laminin and depend on interaction between integrin and extracellular ligand. Our study was designed to investigate the effect of extracellular matrix like fibronectin, laminin, type I collagen on migration of osteoblast. Migration distance and speed of MC3T3-E1 cell on extracellular matrix-coated glass were measured for 24 hours using 0.01% type I collagen, 0.01% fibronectin, 100 microliter/ml laminin. The migration distance and speed of MC3T3-E1 cell was compared using a video-microscopy system. To determine migration speed, cells were viewed with a 4 phase- contrast lens and video recorded. Images were captured using a color CCD camera and saved in 8-bit full-color mode. The migration distance on 0.01% type I collagen or 0.01% fibronectin was longer than that on $100{\mu}l/ml$ laminin-coated glass. The migration speed on fibronectin-coated glass was 68 micrometer/hour which was fastest. The migration speed on type I collagen-coated glass was similar with that on fibronectin-coated glass. The latter two migration speeds were faster than that on no-coated glass. On the other hand, the average migration speed on laminin-coated glass was 37micrometer/hour and not different from that of control group. In conclusion, the extracelluar matrix ligands such as type I collagen and fibronectin seem to play an important role in cell migration. The type I collagen or fibronectin coated scaffold is more effective for migration of osteoblast in tissue engineering process.

표면 상태와 용액에 따른 치과용 수복재료의 색안정도 평가 (Evaluation of Surface Condition and Food Solution on the Color Stability of Dental Restoration Materials)

  • 본 연구는 치과용 수복재료의 연마유무에 따라 여러 가지 착색용액에서 색의 안정성을 보기 위해 유동성 레진, 하이브리드 레진, 컴포머, 레진강화형 글라스 아이오노머를 이용하여 평가하였다. 치과용 수복재료인 컴포짓트 레진을 테플론 몰드로 직경10 mm, 두께 2 mm 시편을 제작하였으며, 두 군으로 나누어 한 군은 연마지를 이용하여 20초간 연마하였고, 다른 한 군은 연마하지 않고 평가하였다. 실험 결과 기간과 재료별 착색시료 간에는 통계학적으로 유의한 차이가 있었다(p<0.05). 간장과 고추장에서는 레진 강화형 글라스 아이오노머 Fuji II LC와 하이브리드 레진 중 Prodigy에서 2일째 수용도 역치 이상의 색 변화가 나타났으며, 연마지를 사용한 군에서는 간장용액에서는 레진 강화형 글라스 아이오노머 Fuji II LC가 2일째에 색변화가 있었으며, 고추장용액에서는 유동성레진과 하이브리드 레진 중 Prodigy에서 7일째 색변화가 나타났다. 와인용액에서는 컴포머와 하이브리드 레진 중 Prodigy에서 2일째 색 변화가 나타났으며, 연마지를 사용한 군에서는 컴포머에서 2일째 수용도 역치 이상의 색 변화를 볼 수 있었다. 향후 레진 표면의 활택도에 따라 착색에 영향을 줄 수 있으므로 향후 다양한 연마방법을 통한 연구가 진행되어야 할 것으로 사료된다.

  • Due to high esthetic demands from patients, we are driven to fabricate natural-looking(form and color) restorations. In the past decade, the glass-ceramic in dentistry has been used as a material with variable crystals that affects the appearance, characteristics, and mechanical properties of metal-free fixed restoration. The conventional IPS Empress glass-ceramic is a heat-pressed, leucite reinforced material using the "lost wax" principle. This glass-ceramic has been successfully used for esthetic restorations such as all-ceramic crowns, inlays/onlays, and veneers for about 15 years. This article presents that the form and surface texture of clinical crown are duplicated by IPS-Empress system using "lost-wax technique".

창원 다호리 유적 6호분 출토 유리구슬의 과학적 분석 (A Scientific Analysis on the Glass Beads Excavated from the Daho-ri site NO. 6, Changwoen)

  • 창원 다호리 유적 6호분에서 출토된 유리구슬편 14점에 대하여 과학적인 분석을 실시하였다. 유리편은 대부분 감청색의 투명한 유리로 원형의 기포들이 일정한 방향으로 나열되어 있다. SEM/EDS 분석결과 유리편은 모두 포타쉬유리군(K2O-SiO2)이며 CaO 및 Al2O3의 함량은 모두 5%이하인 LCA(Low CaO, Low Al2O3)계 유리로 확인되었다. 또한 포타쉬원료는 식물제를 정제하거나 광물(초석, KNO3)을 사용한 것으로 판단되며 감청색을 내는 발색제로 작용하는 성분은 CuO의 영향이 큰 것으로 판단된다.

좀부추의 생육에 미치는 칼라필름의 효과 (Effects of Color Films on the Growth of Allium senescens var. minor)

  • 좀부추의 생육에 적합한 광환경을 구명하기 위하여 여러 가지 칼라 필름을 이용하여 광투과특성, 생장특성, 무기성분과 엽록소 함량을 조사하였던 바 그 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다- 칼라 필름의 종류에 따른 광투과 특성에서 광질은 대조구와 투명 필름의 경우 광의 파장 별 선택적인 차단은 없었지만 기타 필름은 선택적으로 감소 또는 차단되었으며, 광량은 대조구의 광투과량을 100으로 볼 때 투명 필름이 76.5%로써 가장 높았고, 녹색 필름은 13.5%로써 가장 낮았다. 생육특성은 투명색, 황색, 핑크색 필름이 양호한 반면 녹색과 청색 필름은 저조하였다. 엽록소 함량은 청색 필름에서 0.27mg/g으로써 가장 높았지만, 황색필름은 0.16mg/g으로써 가장 낮았고, 무기 성분 함량은 녹색 필름이 질소, 인산 칼리, 칼슘, 마그네슘에서 가장 높았지만, 주황색 필름은 인산, 칼륨, 핑크색 필름은 질소, 칼리, 마그네슘에서 가장 낮았다.

근적외선 필터용 인산계 유리의 광학적 특성 및 구조적 특성에 미치는 CuO 의 영향 (Effect of CuO on the Optical and Structural Properties of Phosphate Glass for Near-Infrard Filter)

  • Optical characteristics and structural changes depending on CuO content in phosphate glasses that are used in near-infrared (near-IR) filters were investigated. With phosphate glasses that contain 1-9 mol% CuO, changes in optical transmittance, optical absorption, and color coordinate were measured with a UV-VIS spectrophotometer. An XPS (X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy) analysis was performed to determine valence of copper ion that influences optical characteristics in near-IR filter glasses. Structural changes in glasses depending on CuO content were also analyzed by FT-IR (Fourier transform infrared) and Raman spectrophotometers. From the UV-VIS spectrophotometer results, strong absorption peaks at 220 & 900 nm were found and transmittance was decreased. The color coordinates of the glasses were shifted to the green color direction with CuO addition for increasing absorption of long wavelength range spectra, in spite of the amount of $Cu^{2+}$, which gives a blue color to glasses, and which was increased in XPS results. Also, structural de-polymerization of glasses with CuO addition were found by FT-IR and Raman results.

  • Surface plasmon resonance is the enhancement of electromagnetic wave caused by oscillation on the metal and dielectric interfaces. Surface plasmons with nanohole arrays provides an enhancedresonance for the specific wavelengths of interests. Asymmetric array of nanoscale structures can enable orientation dependent shift of resonance wavelengths when combined with the control of polarization for incident visible light, thus providing color tunability. Appropriate lattice constants along the direction of polarization in rectangular nanohole arrays can determine the resonance condition generating red (R), green (G), and blue (B) colors and potentially be applied to display applications. In ourprevious report, we have optimized the ion beam nanomachining conditions to fabricate the nanostructures on the metal film. We apply the fabrication conditions to make nanoscale hole arrays using 100 nm thick gold layer on the glass substrate with the optimal design of periodicities along x, y, and diagonal directions of a=440 nm, b=520 nm, c=682 nm, and the hole diameter of d=200 nm. Using the reflective light in dark field mode of optical microscope, we can observe different colors. When the polarizer is paralleled along a, b, or c direction, the represented color is changed to R, G, and B, respectively. We further map the color using i1 to correlate the conditions of the nanohole arrays with their characteristic color.

  • This paper describes a MacMic System developed for Flat Panel Display. The MacMic System usually is used for testing of Mother Glass of TFT and Color Filter. They are normally consisted of microscopy system, illumination system and panel stage system.
