  • The present study is designed to examine categories and characteristics of the scenic sites depicted in the "Joseon MyungSeung SiSun(Collection of Poems on Joseon Dynasty Scenic Sites, 朝鮮名勝詩選)" written by Narushima Sakimura(成島鷺村) during the early period of the Japanese Colonization to introduce the scenic sites of the Korean Peninsula. Introduction and forewords are construed in order to define the purpose of the Collection, and thorough analysis are conducted on category, location, and distinct characteristics of approximately 1,700 scenic sites described in the body. From the study, it is identified that there are twice as many cultural landscapes introduced in the Collection than natural landscapes, and the most frequently introduced sites are historical Buddhist sites, pavilions, famous mountain in the respective order. Further, the study reveals that the Collection makes reference of the verses written by virtuous Korean scholars in order to broaden the significance of the scenic sites, and also that the Collection marks the time period when the new scenic sites with symbolic implications of the modern period at the turn of the Japanese colonial period are began to be introduced. Such new scenic sites include modern parks and commemorative structures, beaches, train stations, etc. Nevertheless, the scope of study presents limitation as its scope of analysis does not take the changing perceptions of people on scenic sites before and after the colonial period into consideration, and also further comparative analysis on other documentations made record on the scenic sites of the Korean Peninsula will need to be continued in the future studies.

  • Lately, intrusive incidents (including system hacking, viruses, worms, homepage alterations, and data leaks) have not involved the distribution of an virus or worm, but have been designed to acquire private information or trade secrets. Because an attacker uses advanced intelligence and attack techniques that conceal and alter data in a computer, the collector cannot trace the digital evidence of the attack. In an initial incident response first responser deals with the suspect or crime scene data that needs investigative leads quickly, in accordance with forensic process methodology that provides the identification of digital evidence in a systematic approach. In order to an effective initial response to first responders, this paper analyzes the collection data such as user usage profiles, chronology timeline, and internet data according to CFFPM(computer forensics field triage process model), proceeds to design, and implements a collection application to deploy the client/server architecture on the Windows based computer.

  • The progress is widely used as a critical index for successful construction project management. In spite of the importance of progress measurement, the excessive management effort to collect and maintain detailed data has been highlighted as a major barrier to measurement of highly accurate progress. In order to reduce the required workload and to enhance accuracy, several researches have been conducted. These researches can be categorized into two groups. First group focuses on automated data collection utilizing advanced technologies only for limited construction tasks. The second group is a research area where the standard progress measurement methodologies encompassing entire construction tasks are investigated. Topics include the adjusting the level of details, standardizing work processes, and applying flexible WBS. However, the techniques for automated data collection are not fully investigated yet in the second group. Combining these two research areas can provide a solution for more effective progress management in terms of enhancing accuracy and optimizing workload. However, there has been no comprehensive research addressing these two research groups in an integrated manner. In this context, the purpose of this paper is to propose a methodology that identifies the most suitable measurement method and data acquisition technology (e.g., GPS, RFID, etc.) for entire construction tasks of a project. The proposed methodology in this paper will be able to facilitate the selection process of data acquisition technologies for entire construction tasks of a project and to support the overall enhancement of automated progress management.

  • Autonomous equipment requires a large amount of data from various environments. However, it takes a lot of time and cost for an experiment in a real construction sites, which are difficulties in data collection and processing. Therefore, this study aims to develop a virtual environment for autonomous tower cranes technology development and validation. The authors defined automation functions and operation conditions of tower cranes with three performance criteria: operational design domain, object and event detection and response, and minimum functional conditions. Afterward, this study developed a virtual environment for learning and validation for autonomous functions such as recognition, decision making, and control using the Unity game engine. Validation was conducted by construction industry experts with a fidelity which is the representative matrix for virtual environment assessment. Through the virtual environment platform developed in this study, it will be possible to reduce the cost and time for data collection and technology development. Also, it is also expected to contribute to autonomous driving for not only tower cranes but also other construction equipment.

  • Recently, cyclone is used to collect fine particles in various industrial precesses, but many studies are undergoing because of cyclone's low collection efficiency. Thus, we have developed water-cyclone which minimizes disadvantages of existing conventional cyclone and designed 3 different stages depending on precessing materials. Stage 1 collects particles by using principles of conventional cyclone. Stage 2 processes acid gases by extending contact time with water film through vortex movement. Stage 3 processes uncollected substances in stage 1 and 2. Hence, we evaluate water-cyclone by experimental verification.

  • Recently, Environmental friendliness and sustainability become the main concern of residential area planning. This paper deals with the estimation indicator system for environmentally friendliness of residential areas. An interview survey was carried out for resident groups by the type of housing. 'Environmentally friendly residential site' is defined as 'A site of sustainable development with low undesirable impact on environment, friendliness to natural environments such as green areas and waters, and amenity, health & hygiene of residents' Totally, nineteen individual indicators, six categories and three principles(Low Impact, High Contact, Amenity & Health) were proposed as estimation indicator system. Residents showed high importance on principle of 'amenity & health'. Individual indicators such as 'garbage segregated collection', 'secure green areas' and 'cleanness of water and air' showed high weighting value by each principles. Satisfaction level of residents for individual indicators, such as 'garbage segregated collection', 'common gardens', and 'cleanness of residential areas', were comparatively high. By the result of factor analysis, the proposed model for indicator system was valid.

  • Framework has constructive and extendable code. It is consist of the variable design collections. In the aspect of the classes's collection, it is similar to the class library. but it is different to provide the architecture which is possible to develop the application rather than the collection of the simple classes. In framework it is very important factor to develop and control the component library. In this paper, we design the usable component model through defining the meta-relation between components and proposed the sample case using this model.

  • The World Health Organization provides guidelines for managing the particulate matter (PM) level because a higher PM level represents a threat to human health. To manage the PM level, a procedure for measuring the PM value is first needed. We use a PM sensor that collects the PM level by laser-based light scattering (LLS) method because it is more cost effective than a beta attenuation monitor-based sensor or tapered element oscillating microbalance-based sensor. However, an LLS-based sensor has a higher probability of malfunctioning than the higher cost sensors. In this paper, we regard the overall malfunctioning, including strange value collection or missing collection data as anomalies, and we aim to detect anomalies for the maintenance of PM measuring sensors. We propose a novel architecture for solving the above aim that we call the hypothesis pruning generative adversarial network (HP-GAN). Through comparative experiments, we achieve AUROC and AUPRC values of 0.948 and 0.967, respectively, in the detection of anomalies in LLS-based PM measuring sensors. We conclude that our HP-GAN is a cutting-edge model for anomaly detection.

  • In the context of ever-faster urbanization, cities are becoming increasingly complex, and data collection to understand such complex relationships is becoming a very important factor. This paper focuses on the lighter weight of the method of collecting urban data, and studied how to use such complementary data collection using crowdsourcing. Especially, the method of converting mobile acceleration sensor information to urban trip information by combining with locational information was experimented. Using the parameters for transportation type classification obtained from the research, information was obtained and verified in Singapore and Zurich. The result of this study is thought to be a good example of how to combine raw data into meaningful behavior information.
