교육시설에 적용 가능한 태양열 흡수식 냉각 시스템 (Solar Absorption Cooling System applicable to Educational Facilities)

  • Performance of a small-capacity solar absorption cooling system was investigated experimentally. Ten sets of evacuative-tube solar-heat collectors and a 5 kW single-stage absorption cooler were combined to produce a hybrid cooling system. The performance of the cooling system was measured using a tim-coil unit installed in a small plastic storage. It was found from the test on a sunny day of May that when the temperature of the hot water supplied from the solar collectors to the generator of the absorption cooler reached $60^{\circ}C$, the absorption cooler started cooling and the cold water temperature measured from the fan-coil unit reached $18^{\circ}C$. The COP, which is defined as the ratio of the cooling power to the total electrical power input was higher than 1.0.

도계육 냉각공정 방식에 따른 보존성 비교 (Comparison of preservation in poultry carcasses processed by different chilling systems)

  • Cold air or ice water are used to chill poultry carcasses after slaughter. In order to compare the microbial reduction effect of two different chilling systems in poultry carcasses, Pre-and post-chilled carcass samples were tested for contamination agents such as aerobic bacteria counts, E. coli counts and Salmonella spp. counts. Water chilling system showed higher reduction ratio of bacteria than air chilling system during the three seasons. Also, aging of slaughter facility was related with bacterial contamination of pre-chilld carcasses. And additional volatile basic nitrogen (VBN) test were conducted in poultry packing meats and it increased steadily during 15 days. VBN at 8~9 days were over 13 mg% with putrid smell. Poultry packing meats by water chilling system were fresher than air chilling system during early storage time. But those decayed faster after 9 days.

저장유통 조건에 따른 1,000 mL 카톤팩의 벌지현상 (Bulge Characteristics of 1,000 mL Carton Pak according to the Different Storage Conditions)

  • 저장온도에 따른 1,000 mL 카톤팩의 벌지를 측정하기 위하여 원지 board의 물성을 측정하고, 저장조건에 따라 벌지를 측정하였다. 카톤팩 원지의 함수율은 5.6~7.0%, stiffness는 MD(machine direction) 방향이 243.3~266.7 g/cm, CD(cross direction) 방향이 99.2~109.2 g/cm였다. 카톤팩 낱장의 중량은 29.17~31.26 g이었다. 6$^{\circ}C$에 저장하면서 벌지를 측정한 결과, 저장 7일 후 6.33~6.93 mm였다. 1$0^{\circ}C$에 저장하면서 벌지를 측정한 결과, 저장 7일 후 7.26~8.56 mm였다. 1$0^{\circ}C$에 저장하면서 매일 1시간씩 상온 shock 처리 후 벌지를 측정한 결과, 저장 7일 후 8.66 mm였다. 저장온도 조건에 따른 카톤팩의 벌지는 6$^{\circ}C$ < 1$0^{\circ}C$ < 1$0^{\circ}C$+상온 shock순으로 증가하였다. 따라서 벌지 예방의 최선책은 원지 및 카톤팩의 보관 및 관리 철저, 그리고 충전 후 냉장유통 과정에서 온도변화를 적게 해주는 것이라고 사료되며 본 실험결과가 카톤팩 벌지에 대한 최초의 연구보고라 생각된다.

샌드위치 패널의 화재확대 방지시스템 개발을 위한 실험적 연구 (An Experiment Study for Flame Spread Prevention System of Snadwich Panels)

  • The sandwich panel is commonly used domestically because it's less costly and easier to handle. But fires have frequently occurred in buildings employing sandwich panels, such as the fires in Eecheon cold storage and in Gwangju Pyungdong industrial zone. Sandwich panels with steel plates on their surface prevent fire water from penetrating to the fire source, which makes it difficult to extinguish a fire in a timely manner. Toxic gas generated from some insulation material leads to serious loss of life and property. This study is intended to develop an extinguishing system for sandwich panels, thereby reducing the fire risk. Fire water and volume were determined in the wake of the study on the structure of a sandwich panel extinguishing system, and improvement and testing of the fire characteristics of the sandwich panel. Based on such study and test, a fire model test was conducted. Consequently, the sandwich panel with extinguishing system was proven to have a reduced fire risk, compared to traditional or fire retardant panels.

유전알고리즘 이용 경제적 평가기준에 따른 태양열급탕시스템 최적화 설계에 관한 연구 (Optimization Design of Solar Water Heating System based on Economic Evaluation Criterion using a Genetic Algorithm)

  • To assure maximum economic benefits and the energy performance of solar water heating systems, the proper sizing of components and operating conditions need to be optimized. In recent years, a number of studies to design optimally solar water heating systems have been tried. This paper presents a design method for optimizing the various capacity-related and installation-related design variables based on life cycle cost using a genetic algorithm. The design variables considered in this study included the types and numbers of solar collector and auxiliary heaters; the types of storage tanks and heat exchangers; the solar collector slope; mass flow rates of the fluid on the hot and cold sides. The suggested method was applied for optimizing a solar water heating system for an elementary school in Seoul, South Korea. In addition, the effectiveness of the proposed optimization method was assessed by analyzing the obtained optimal solutions of six case studies, each of which was simulated with different solar fractions. It is observed that a trade-off between the equipment cost and the energy cost results in an optimal design that yields the lowest life cycle cost. Therefore, it could be helpful to apply the optimal solar water heating system by comparing the various design solutions obtained by using the optimization method instead of the engineer's experience and intuition.

쌀가루 수용액 계의 유동 특성에 미치는 칡 분말의 첨가 효과 (Effect of Arrow Root Flour on the Flow Property of Rice Flour-water System)

  • 전분의 노화에 대한 새로운 억제물질의 탐색연구 일환으로 칡성분의 첨가 효과를 알아보기 위하며 칡 분말 및 이들의 한외여과 성분 분획의 첨가가 동진벼 쌀가루(8%, w/v) 호화액의 유동 특성에 미치는 영향을 조사하였다. 아울러 냉장 보관중의 유동 특성에 대한 경시변화를 측정하였으며, 이들 유동특성을 변화시키는 주 요인 성분을 탐색하였다. 칡 분말의 첨가로 쌀가루 호화액 유동 특성의 큰 변화를 동반하였으며, 특히 한외여과 투과분획의 저분자 물질종에서 쌀가루 호화액 및 이의 저장중의 유동 특성 변화가 가장 현저하였다. 한외여과 투과액 분획의 첨가는 쌀가루 수용액의 의가소성, 항복응력 및 점조지수값을 크게 감소시켰으며 비교적 저장중의 안정성을 나타내어 노화억제의 효과가 시사되었다. 이들 한외여과 투석액 분획의 저분자 물질은 칡뿌리의 isoflavonoid로 알려진 puerarin, deidzein 및 deidzin인 것으로 확인되었다.

Determination of Hot Leg Recirculation Switchover Time to Prevent Boron Precipitation during Post-LOCA LTC for ULCHIN l&2

  • Boric acid concentrations of the refueling water storage tank (RWST) and the accumulators for Ulchin 1&2 (UCN 1&2) are increased to meet the post loss of coolant accident (post-LOCA) shutdown requirement for the extended fuel cycles from 12 months to 18 months. To maintain long term cooling (LTC) capability following a LOCA, the switchover tine is examined using BORON code to prevent the boron precipitation in the reactor core with the increased boron concentrations. The analysis results show that, at 8 hours after the initiation of LOCA. the emergency core noting system (ECCS) should be manually realigned to the simultaneous recirculation mode from the cold leg recirculation mode.

I-123 핵종생산장치 시스템 설계 (Design of I-123 Nuclide Production System)

  • 30MeV 사이클로트론의 양성자가 Xe-124 기체 표적 시스템에 조사될 때 일어나는 핵반응을 적용하여 Xe 가스를 GPM으로부터 타겟으로 전송하는 시스템을 설계하였다. 시스템 설계는 크게 4파트로 구성되며 각각의 하드웨어 부분은 솔리드웍스 3-D 캐드를 이용하여 설계하였다. 타겟 시스템 중 헬륨으로 Havor foil을 냉각시키게 설계했고, 타겟 내 Xe 가스가 양성자로 조사 시 상승하는 타겟 온도를 냉각수로 냉각시켜주도록 설계하였다. 또한, 온도센서와 압력센서를 장착하여 타겟 내의 온도와 압력을 확인할 수 있도록 구성 하였다. GPM은 Xe 가스를 타겟으로 운반, 준비하는 부분이며 Xe 가스를 저장하는 부분과 불순물을 제거하는 부분으로 구성되어 있다. HCS는 헬륨을 이용하여 각 파트를 세척하고 냉각시켜 주는 부분이며, 각각의 장치들은 PLC로 제어하여 유지보수시의 편리성을 추구하였고 PC Vue 모니터링 프로그램을 사용하여 SIEMENS PLC와 인터페이스 하여 시스템을 보다 안전하고 편리하게 감시하도록 구성하였다.

  • An air-conditioning system based on the chemical heat storage principle was considered. $H_2O$ was chosen as the reaction gas and the working fluid as well. Na$_2$S, CaCl$_2$, MnCl$_2$, BaCl$_2$, MgCl$_2$, Fe$_2$(SO$_4$)$_3$ and MnSO$_4$ were tested as the solid reactants by using Cahn pressure balance. Na$_2$S was superior to other salts in respect of high capability of absorption of water gas, 5 moles of $H_2O$ per unit mole of Na$_2$S, and adequate temperature of adsorption, $65^{\circ}C$ at 7torr, and of desorption, 13$0^{\circ}C$ at 76torr. Clausius-Clapeyron diagram of Na$_2$S was obtained via adsorption experiments at several vapor pressures of water gas. To enhance heat and mass transfer characteristics, usually below 1W/m K, of the reactor bed of general adsorption systems, expanded graphite block was adapted as the support of Na$_2$S salt. Expanded graphite blocks had thermal conductivity values of 20~80W/mK with respect to 100~400kg/㎥ of block bulk density. Permeability values of expanded graphite blocks were 10$^{-13}$ ~ 10$^{-14}$ $m^2$ with respect to 100~300kg/㎥ of block bulk density showing highly decreasing values of permeability, below 10$^{-l4}$$m^2$, in the range of above 150kg/㎥ of block bulk density.y.

열저장 물질로써 잠열재의 제조 및 특성 연구 (Study on Manufacturing and Characteristics of Phase Change Materials for Having Latent Heat)

  • The purpose of this study is to develop the cold chain system by developing optimal phase change materials (PCM). There are some benefits from developing this system such as keeping freshness of agriculture products, saving energy, etc. The major results are as follows. To decide a latent heat material, the characteristics of water, sodium, polyacrylate, ethanol and N-tetradecane are analysed. Also, an insulating material is made by mixing water, nucleating agent and latent heat material, using cementing method. In addition, the sensitivity analysis for developed latent heat material($K_l,\;K_2,\;K_3$) is conducted. For $K_l,\;K_2,\;K_3$ which cans keep latent heat temperature, ranging from $0\;to\;5^{\circ}C,\;5\;to\;10^{\circ}C,\;10\;to\;15^{\circ}C$. it can keeps latent heat temperature at radiant heat (5, 12, $17^{\circ}C$) and transportation latent heat container both melting temperature and amount of latent heat of Kl are $-1.6{\pm}1.0^{\circ}C$, 326.51 J/g, respectively and freezing temperature and latent heat are $-7.98{\pm}1.5^{\circ}C$ and 174.18 J/g. and $K_2$ are $7.41{\pm}1.5^{\circ}C$, 89.80 J/g, respectively and freezing temperature and latent heat are $-2.14{\pm}1.5^{\circ}C$ and 83.90 J/g. and $K_3$ are $9.54{\pm}1.0^{\circ}C$, 145.42 J/g, respectively and freezing temperature and latent heat are $0.21{\pm}1.0^{\circ}C$ and 152.48 J/g.
